Vin Diesel has confirmed that Universal Pictures is currently developing two new Fast and Furious films.

The 44-year-old actor and producer of the franchise decided to split the sixth installment into two parts.

“With the success of this last one, and the inclusion of so many characters, and the broadening of scope, when we were sitting down to figure out what would fit into the real estate of number six, we didn’t have enough space,â€￾ Vin told THR.

“We have to pay off this story, we have to service all of these character relationships, and when we started mapping all that out it just went beyond 110 pages. The studio said, ‘You can’t fit all that story in one damn movie!’â€￾

I still need to see the latest one. As for them making two more I don't really see the point but maybe there is some kind of continuation in the 5th one.

Unfortunately, Universal knows that junk like the FF movies bring in the big bucks.

Universal have had a couple of really bad years lately, which sucks because they were doing the RIGHT things, taking chances on movies like Scott Pilgrim and appealing to the niche cultures that never get the attention. But when Scott Pilgrim failed and garbage like Fast Five, The Expendables and Transformers 2 & 3 made major profits, Universal have had no choice but to go further in that direction.

I'm not interested in anymore Fast & Furious films and I really don't know how people feel like they "need" to see movies like them.

I love the fast and the furious series, the 1st and 5th ones are the best imo.

Good to know there'll be another 2 films released in the future even though it's probably gonna be a long wait for number 6, let alone 7.

Love all of the Fast and Furious movies, favorite one is Fast Five. I hope this one will be the best one yet. I am a huge fan of Racing movies like this and Death Race so I will probably like this.

My bad, just realized that I said the 1st and 2nd F&F's were my favorites, I meant 1st and 5th. The Rock and Vin Diesel were epic.

No surprise that they are planning two more after they made so much money with the last one. Bringing Vin Diesel back helped the franchise and adding The Rock was a nice touch. I haven't seen any of the films, and I probably never will, but if it makes money then these companies will continue to produce them.
