Bantamweight prospect Renan Barao cruised to a decision victory over the debuting Cole Escovedo in the opening fight of the UFC 130 card.

What was the high spot of this fight?

There wasn't a lot, but both fighters opened up early in the third round and picked up the pace for a minute or so, throwing a variety of strikes including a spinning back kick and flying knee from Barao.

Where do these guys go from here?

Barao is a highly-touted bantamweight prospect that was supposed to meet Demetrious Johnson before the card was switched up. With both of them winning, I wouldn't be surprised to see them go back to that matchup in the near future. The winner of that would probably be in the running for a title shot or a number one contender's matchup.

Escovedo was given a very tough assignment in his first fight, but did an okay job and is likely to get another UFC fight considering the current thinness of the bantamweight roster.

Watch it now, later, or never?

I'm teetering between later or never. If Barao gets a big fight next time out, this might be worth watching just to see how many takedowns he got and how he mixed up his striking. You certainly wouldn't be missing out on much if you decided to skip it altogether though.
