BFG Series Standings

Magnus - 24 points (3-0-0)
Joe - 12 points (1-0-1)
Hardy - 7 points (1-0-0)
Anderson - 7 points (1-1-0)
Aries - 7 points (1-0-0)
Daniels - 7 points (1-0-0)
Styles - 2 points (0-0-1)
Park - 0 points (0-1-0)
Bradley - 0 points (0-1-0)
Hernandez - 0 points (0-2-0)
Kazarian - 0 points (0-1-0)
Roode - 0 points (0-2-0)
The Bound For Glory Series is a twelve man tournament to determine the number one contender for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at October's Bound for Glory. The twelve men will face each other in matches on pay-per-view, television and at untelevised house show events and were given points based on their performance, with a submission victory giving a wrestler 10 points, a pinfall victory 7, a countout victory 5, a disqualification victory 3 and a draw 2 points, while a disqualification loss will cost a wrestler 10 points.
So the twelve entrants are confirmed and it is the usual mix of a few big names, some midcarders that might break out and some obvious filler.

Looking at the list I hope that it is someone other than Hardy and Roode. The issue with those two though is the fact that Roode won it in 2011 and Hardy in 2012. It would be nice to see a new name win it and for TNA to give it to someone that could use a boost. AJ Styles is probably a front runner. Due to his loss a Turning Point last year he can't challenge for the title again until BFG 2013 so the timing is perfect. Mr Anderson might work storyline wise because he is VP of Aces & Eights and it could set up a President vs VP match that could break apart the stable. I would like to see Magnus go on a bit of a run and possibly even make the final four.

Who do you think will win this year's series? Who will qualify for the finals? Who will come last?

I don't think it's ever been this obvious who's going to win. AJ can't get a title shot until BFG of this year, and with how they're building him up, I think it's obvious he'll win.

Yeah, this a dead giveaway to AJ. Not complaining though. I'm probably going to see BFG live (LOVE how TNA is coming to the West Coast more often, you listening WWE?) Seeing AJ main event BFG and win the title would be a great moment.

And by the way, even though it's predictable, I see it as the best option and hope they go with AJ. I want this Jay Bradley guy to do good too, would be such a waste to have him win his way into it if they didn't have him do anything. Also marked like crazy when Daniels and Kazarian got in instead of Storm and Gunner.

AJ is obviously going to win this and be the one to dethrone Bully Ray. The story practically writes itself.

But what this year's BFG series lacks is a guy ready for a breakout. Roofs was the guy who broke through the glass ceiling two years ago and Bully Ray did it last year. There needs to be one guy who doesn't need to necessarily win, but needs to come out looking like a star. Magnus is the only guy who I think has that potential, but TNA seems hesitant to push him as a singles guy

Yeah AJ to win. Sadly there seems to be no stand out newcomer to the field. The likes of Anderson and Park being there is a joke, lets hope they are just there to make up the numbers.

I have my doubts that TNA will do anything with him in this series. They should give him a decent run and keep him mid table to show that there was actually a reason behind the Gutcheck Finalist match on PPV. If they bury him and leave him bottom of the table they just make that match and concept look pointless.

As for breakout star I really think that from this group Magnus is that guy. Has improved a lot during his time in TNA and still has so much potential. Plus he is the only new guy, aside from Jay Bradley, in that entire list so surely they should push one of them to the finals.

I think that Hernandez will be the guy to fill D'Angelo Dinero's role this year, he will be the first to be eliminated from the series.

Yeah, looks like it's going to be AJ with absolute ease.

Prior to AJ returning I honestly thought Morgan was a front runner for this thing because similar to this AJ storyline writing itself, I thought the Morgan one wrote itself too.

I did find it odd that Matt Morgan wasn't included in this Series. He is a guy that could be one of their top guys yet he has never received that huge push and this series is a great way to do it. I hope that he actually is given a decent storyline heading into BFG so that he doesn't just disappear into the midcard again.

I bet Matt Morgan wished that TNA lawsuit never happened; cause if he were in the WWE right now, he wouldn't be wasted the way he is right now.

I fully expect Anderson to finish in the top three just so there's a possibility that VP faces president for the strap. Make it look like Anderson's going rogue before he sacrifices himself for the good of the club.

Jay Bradley has to succeed if TNA wants the Gut Check tournament to hold any water. If he finishes in the middle of the pack, I'd consider it a success since he's a "rookie" going in against established veterans.

Other than that, nobody really stands out. Like I said, I'm hoping for a Magnus breakout, but I'm not 100% sold that its going to happen.

I have update the OP with the current standings. Very glad that Magnus is starting with three wins and that Joe is second right now. TNA should take a chance with Magnus to see how he goes near the top of the card. Also glad that Hernandez is 0-2, doesn't add anything to the series other than being the designated jobber.

I just don't see anything in Magnus at all, the guy is as vanilla as they come.

Strongly disagree with you here. I actually saw him in an early match for them in Manchester back in 09 and I didn't see a thing in him, but he has come so far since them and is one of the few younger guys who I can see being a break out future main eventer.
