(I'm writing this article after reading a RUMOR...just keep that in mind)

wm35-400x240.jpg

So as Wrestlemania approaches it is usually an exciting time of the year
for most of the wrestling community...& while I really only care about half
of the Wrestlemania card...it appears to be shaping up to be a huge event
and definitely a better looking event on paper than 33 & 32 were.

BUT...Naomi's Butt...

b1qusyo0k8o01.gif

I have a deep feeling in my gut that the women's division is about to go
into some kind of year long, boring, predictable lock down.

The rumored "Big Women's Match" the WWE are going to begin building
to for Wrestlemania 35 is a still undefeated & SmackDown Women's Champion
Asuka vs. the recent big name MMA signing Ronda Rousey.

Ronda-_Rousey-vs.-_Asuka.jpg

Now the idea of Asuka vs. Ronda does appeal to me...but the idea of Ronda
being the one to break Asuka's streak makes me feel sick in the stomach but
I won't go on about that here.

(Let's just say it would be the female version of Lesnar vs. Taker)

The problem with this kind of long term booking (as we've just seen with the
Lesnar/Reigns) is it basically ruins any chance of cool surprises & any other
performers advancing their careers.

Now for Charlotte & Alexa Bliss...its no big deal...but for everyone else...well...
I guess they are shit out of luck.

Because the women's division is so small...it is pretty hard for them to make a
mark in the division without winning & holding the top titles.

There is no secondary titles or a tag division for them at this time.

The RAW women's division will slowly be fed to Ronda over the next year while
the SmackDown women's division will slowly be fed to Asuka over the next year
and unless the booking team actually comes up with some interesting stories &
some reasons for the other women to fight each other...they may as well just sit
backstage & get their nails done.

Now there does appear to be a "spot" open on RAW with the women's title...but...
knowing the WWE creative they'll probably just have Alexa Bliss carry the belt in
terrible matches for another year.

What are Sasha, Bayley, Becky, Charlotte, Ruby, Naomi & the rest of division
going to do for the next year? What about the women drafted up from NXT?

Now I've heard a rumor a set of women's tag titles will be introduced around
Summerslam time...which is cool I guess...but how they are actually used is
another issue I don't trust the creative team with.

Now I know an undefeated Asuka vs. Ronda Rousey is a "Money" match...but
I don't think the entire division should have to sit around & occasionally eat a
pin to make a couple of chosen women look strong for an eventual match that
won't be happening for a year.

Predictable is not Interesting.

Well...what do you guys think? Do you agree with me? Do you not care?
Do I need to take my meds again? Leave your opinions & views below & lets
get talking...and as always...I will see you all...around the traps.

I am still thinking Charlotte breaks the streak. But if not her, then let it please be an NXT call up and not Ronda.

If she wrestles like Brock when he actually put effort into his matches, then I'd be down with her getting a push but till I see her in the ring I won't be making any assumptions.

They should save it for Ember Moon. They have history and she said she wanted to be the one to break the streak...

Plus they are really close friends in real life so they have good chemistry.

Ember Moon beating Asuka will make Asuka look like crap, in my opinion.. Charlotte probably should be the one to end the streak. It will make her a much bigger star than she already is.. Streaks like Undertaker's or Asuka's should be saved for huge stars.. It could be a waste if the talent ends up flopping... like Bayley ending Charlotte's PPV streak.

I guess they want to save it for Ronda Rousey next year at WrestleMania.. That will be a big money mach if they build it correctly, unfortunately they need to sacrifice the rest of the women's division to get there.

I view streaks like belts. You give wrestlers belts to help build them. So when someone like Cena is holding a belt, whoever beats him should in a sense go over/get over.
Who ever beats Asuka should be someone who greatly gains from it so I agree about Ronda. That would make sense to have her beat the streak.
The reason I say Moon is down to history but then again, as shown, history in NXT doesn't really do much for the women on the main roster and a lot of them go unnoticed.

The women's story lines are so messed up right now that I am shocked they already didn't screw up Asuka's streak.

Ember would need to be on the main roster for a bit before she ends the streak.. She needs to prove she's not going to be a total failure..

Ember Moon is not a bad choice, she's a great talent. Her match with Asuka in NXT is my favorite women's match ever.. Her ending the streak could backfire though if they do it right away, since the main roster is totally different than NXT and anybody can easily flop, due to creative mostly.. Bayley is a perfect example of that, i don't know what the fuck creative has done with this woman when she was the most over talent in NXT, man or women.

The worry is, what are the rest of the woman going to do if Ronda is going to dominate Raw and Asuka is going to dominate SDL? Judging by what we have seen so far by the creative team, the rest of the woman are going to do absolutley nothing.

If only they cared about the womans roster. Because they clearly don't, as Becky has not had a storyline for 14 straight months. Im not even joking. Becky hasnt had a proper feud since her feud with Alexa.

I won't go on about that here.

(Let's just say it would be the female version of Lesnar vs. Taker)
It's different from Lesnar vs. 'Taker for the following reasons:

1. Ronda has no experience in WWE, unlike Lesnar. Her wrestling ability is, for now, unknown whereas Lesnar had already proved to be a capable performer before returning from UFC.
2. Asuka's streak has far less value than Undertaker's due to length and opponent quality. Undertaker's faced far brighter stars than Asuka...and he also didn't lose to Eva Marie in a battle royale that everybody except for me forgot about.
3. Ronda cares about wrestling more than Lesnar, a guy that sticks around only for the paycheck.
4. Ronda is due to perform weekly on RAW after WrestleMania, if I'm not mistaken. This would make her far more active than Lesnar.

There is no secondary titles or a tag division for them at this time.
And there shouldn't be until they increase the size of the roster. There's not enough manpower...womanpower...to manage two singles divisions and two tag divisions for the women. In fact, there probably isn't enough people to even manage one compelling women's tag division alongside a compelling singles division. Adding more titles won't solve the division's problem. More talent - good talent - combined with good stories is needed before attempting to give them more titles. Two singles belts stretches the division thin enough.

If this does happen, though, I guarantee y'all that the Bella Twins will be the first champs.

The RAW women's division will slowly be fed to Ronda over the next year while

This is why booking someone to have an undefeated streak while facing a roster I can count with both hands isn't a good idea.

They can still be useful on the card! They give people a much needed bathroom break!

Nah, they'll have Nia carry it for a while before having Bayley and Sasha trade the title back and forth a dozen times in an unending feud until Ronda gets bored of killing jobbers.

The problem with this kind of long term booking (as we've just seen with the
Lesnar/Reigns) is it basically ruins any chance of cool surprises & any other
performers advancing their careers.
It also dismisses the interests of the crowd. The entire show doesn't have to be organized the way they fans want it, but adjustments need to be made as time goes onto ensure the fans' newest pet has something to do. The advanced booking ignored Strowman's rapidly growing popularity in exchange for continuing the original plan. You're absolutely right that it hurts these careers. Who knows if Strowman's going to be as over as he is now whenever he finally has a chance to be placed in that position? Dolph Ziggler sure didn't recover after WWE didn't pull the trigger on him after he ousted the Authority with Team Cena way back in 2014, and look where Dolph went after that. He was without a shadow of a doubt with a mandate from the fans, but the plan wasn't for Dolph, thus Dolph got shunned and never became as big.

No way...Peyton & Billie FTW!

Which is why Ember Moon should have been the

The idea of Bayley & Sasha holding a women's title again actually makes me laugh...
not because I don't want to see it...but because that would mean the WWE will actually
be pushing either of them again...especially considering Alexa Bliss is on RAW.

It also dismisses the interests of the crowd. The entire show doesn't have to be organized the way they fans want it, but adjustments need to be made as time goes onto ensure the fans' newest pet has something to do. You're absolutely right that it hurts these careers.
I know I'm right...that's why I typed it.

;P

She might be the worst women's wrestler since Rosa Mendes.
I actually think Nia is worse than Eva or Rosa...simply because of her size
which makes her a danger to work with.

And honestly...towards the end Eva was a better seller than Alexa Bliss is
now. It least Eva wasn't afraid to get thrown around & kicked by Asuka.

I'll give her that much.

Yeah her selling is terrible.. It seems like she's too worried about messing up her pretty face.. It's pro wrestling, suck it up and take the bumps like a real wrestler.

Maybe Eva improved in NXT, I don't really remember. Her main roster run was embarrassing though and she pretty much used WWE to launch her career outside of wrestling, so what a waste of time she was.

As far as Rosa goes, that bitch was in WWE for 10 years and didn't improve at all. I would easily put her as the worst wrestler i've ever seen.

Hearing Rosa wants to return to wrestling soon makes me want to vomit.

And yet the WWE keeps putting her over REAL female wrestlers...
its that bad its driving me away from the product.

But its okay...because she has mic skills...

Yeah...well the Miz has awesome mic skills AND can
work a great match...so until Alexa is the same she can
piss up a rope as far as I'm concerned.

Oh I agree...she was a total waste of time & money...

Nice tits but.

I've never seen Rosa wrestle...& it sounds like I never need to.
