The Rock Reportedly Has No Movie/TV Commitments For Q1 Of 2023

Is The Rock making his way back to WWE next year to headline WrestleMania 39 in Hollywood? It seems as if his schedule is all clear for that to happen.

According to Bryan Alvarez of The Wrestling Observer, The Rock does not currently have any movie or TV filming commitments from January through March of 2023. Alvarez said, “He is going to do zero movie commitments for the first quarter of 2023, which would allow him to do WrestleMania without having to worry about movie commitments and also have the time to help launch the first season of the XFL. So actually, the timing for doing a WrestleMania match would be excellent this year because he has two different projects which would require him to take time off from movies.”

As mentioned above, The Rock is heavily involved in the relaunch of the XFL which will be taking place roughly the same time as WWE WrestleMania season, the perfect recipe for him to take some time away from acting to return to WWE. The Rock has expressed a desire to come back to WWE for numerous years now, but his filming schedule makes it impossible to do.

The belief has been that The Rock wants to compete against Roman Reigns at the showcase of immortals, and Dave Meltzer reported a few months ago that this match had already been preliminary penciled in as the main event of the show.​

I'm gonna be pumped when this finally comes around.​

Yea, well... Guess we do get Reigns vs. Rock then next year and to be honest, WWE HAS to do it.

People can feel about Roman how they want, but he versus Rock is the only possible Main Event for next year's Mania that has that special Big Time match feeling. Besides Rollins and maybe Drew, they simply don't have anyone on the roster, that could be build up towards THAT type of next level big time Match over the next 10 months. ...and WWE has to put in the work of building up guys over the next 1 1/2 years, otherwise 2024's Wrestlemania gonna be a complete trainwreck, when it comes to the Main Event section.

I mean it’d definitely be a shame to not do it. They fuckin built up Roman as the most dominant champion in the last 30 years using his family as his back up. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Lashley would need at least a year of actual, meaningful build-up and Omos at least 2-3. I'm talking about real Big Time feeling matches after all.

Brock doesn’t have too many big time opponents left.

Could get away with him and Lashley again. Him vs Cody. Couple years down the road, him vs Wardlow.

But he’s faced and beaten them all.
