Last time he did this with AJ Styles, he was signed not too long after.

Do you think WWE will be seeing Kenny Omega in the near future? Or is he just messing with us?

Kenny has also stated he will be leaving Japan so there is that.

Both Kenny and John are working people. Kenny is locked in with New Japan for another year and is taking a bit of a break. He's likely using this to leverage a better deal with New Japan.

And John's instagram gimmick is basically to be a troll.

It was known that AJ had declined a contract extension. That he was WWE bound became pretty clear after the 2016 Tokyo dome show. No such rumblings in regards to Kenny since he signed a 2 year deal after last years dome

Ah okay. That is what I thought. I kind of remember something happening before Cena posted his picture. I know his Instagram is nothing but interpretations that people seem to lose their heads over trying to decode.

Omega was hardly featured at New Year Dash – the equivalent to Raw after WrestleMania – then word started to spread that he could be taking some time off.

He likely is taking time off like you said and Cena is just using it as a marketing scheme for Vince. Get people tuning in more "in case" it happens kind of thing.

Kenny is taking time off and allowing other booking plans to take place (the return of Minoru Suzuki and his Suzuki-army stable). Omega will likely return some time in March and become a face to take on the evil Suzuki. Kenny would be bonkers to leave after making himself into a main man in the promotion with one match. And New Japan would be stupid to let him leave.

And as I said. After last years raid New Japan smartened up and started locking the roster down on long term deals rather than the traditional 1 year deals. The only ones still on 1 year deals are veterans like Nagata. Who would not leave for WWE at gunpoint to begin with
