YES! This was the first incarnation of Punk I was introduced too. I remember hating him as a kid. There was some random Smackdown (it may have been the one the week after he beat Jeff to make him quit) where Cole said he thinks children should go to school year round, and I thought Punk was a tool for that! Fun times.

Looking back, my favorite SES moment would probably be his run in the '10 Royal Rumble. He cut a promo as each person would come out, and before Corbin hit Lynch, had the last intergender "match" for almost a decade. I thought the SES should've lasted a lot longer, it was easily the best faction at the time since Evolution. It's a shame he was cut off. Punk had so much heat, he was easily the company's top heel. Especially compared to someone as bland as Sheamus or whoever else they tried making the top bad guy.

Been really enjoying Punk on Backstage but can't lie it sucks to realize he really doesn't want to wrestle again. I got my hopes up a little bit too much, and it's quite clear Backstage is a way for him to lightly tip his toes in to Wrestling without going the whole way. It's still possible, but I think Punk is one of the few guys that might stick to his word.

Can't blame him for taking a paycheck for basically talking bad on the product. People do that for free.

This is one of my all-time favourite WWE title matches, legitimately. No bullshit. Just two guys with a lot of respect for each other putting on an absolute classic and the crowd enjoying every minute. Over the Limit 2012 was a bleak PPV, things were pretty shit at the time and the product was kind of terrible. I mean Cena and Big Johnny main eventing just says it all.

This match truly felt like it was in it's own universe. Like, I just didn't want it to end.
