Just gonna throw this in here... It's Wrestling. Retiring the FTW Title could easily become a... hook... (I'm not sorry for this one ) for a storyline in a couple of years again. Heck, maybe Taz one day fucks over his son, turns heel and brings the Title back and all of this will get used as the base for that. We just don't know. The title had a great run over the last what... 12-18 months?

Sometimes you just have to drop something that isn't worth being in the focus anymore and ran it's course, so you can bring it back at some point in time with some immediate momentum.

And btw, I'm also not really happy about losing the Title. Especially in AEW, a belt that is defended (almost exclusively) in hardcore matches, just works with the product and we've got to see some fun moments.... but yea, they decided to drop it (for now) and we should feel lucky they went with the best possible goodbye for the Title. It could have been far, far worse.
