For what it's worth, most people have less of a problem with a younger guy/older woman scenario than have a problem with serious age differences between an older man/younger girl dynamic. I'm on the verge of a long night's sleep so maybe I'm just too tired and not reading this right, but I think you have it backwards. People tend to not care if it's an older guy/younger woman but seem confused or appalled if there's a huge difference in age with a younger man/older woman.

That said, 18 and 35 isn't a big deal at the moment, but in the long term, it would be. (When you're 40, she'll be 57.) So, if you're looking for a long-term relationship/marriage, I'd look elsewhere. But if you're only looking to casually date someone just for fun, I don't see the problem with it.

Age isn't a problem. You're both legal to marry, so there's no problem there. If you two really like each other go for it, my grandparents had a worse age gap....and they lasted until my grandfather passed away which was about 50+ years of marriage.
