Bill Goldberg's final match under his current WWE contract will be against Universal Champion Roman Reigns at this month's Elimination Chamber, according to a report.

Fightful reported the news on Thursday, saying the working plan had been for Goldberg to be part of the Chamber event in Saudi Arabia with the most recent plans calling for the Reigns match.

Dave Meltzer has not been able to confirm the match as of yet, but did say Goldberg was planned for the show.

The two were originally supposed to square off at 2020's WrestleMania 36 for Goldberg's then-Universal title. Reigns withdrew from the match due to wanting to stay home with his young children during the pandemic and Braun Strowman took his place.

Last December, Goldberg said on the Pat McAfee Show that he had one match left on his deal.

The Saturday, February 12th show has the following matches confirmed:
  • Elimination Chamber match: WWE Champion Bobby Lashley defends against Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins, Austin Theory, Riddle, and AJ Styles
  • Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch defends against Lita
  • SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos defend against The Viking Raiders

LMAO.

They'll try and run the match they wanted at Mania 2 years ago for their blood money. Roman wins to get the big notch on his belt and a dig at Lesnar (being unbeaten against Goldberg).

But fuck me, these "one-off" matches just to lose is just killing Bill's legacy (or what he had of one). Guy needs a tap on the shoulder into retirement.

How is his legacy being killed? Outside that Undertaker match.

You can make an argument that Goldberg has had better matches since this run in 2016 started than he did in his prime

His matches are shit and he's losing. In his entire WCW tenure he lost 6 times. He lost to Triple H like twice (?) in his first run. He's lost at least 7 times in this return run.

Don't watch....say that and leave it alone if it bothers this much.

When will you people ever learn that nobody outside of neckbeards fucking care about match quality until the match is over.

Goldberg is a name, especially in that country they're having this show at.....no one else in this company who isn't already in a Chamber are on Reigns level to even look good on a marquee.....and I'm including Rollins in that.

Also no one else crying about Lita who could barely work in the past 3 Women's Royal Rumbles is facing Becky Lynch for a title.....shocker, clear message board bias.

I've never seen the match, but text recaps and video highlights made me glad I didn't pay for WWE Network. If I was the person paying for tickets to THAT match... I'd be pissed.

For me, Goldberg is ruined with that match.

I don't know how WCW kept the "undefeated streak" storyline until the nWo ambush. I don't know how booking got in line and kept him there.

Not surprised at this. Another big notch for Roman before WrestleMania & Goldberg is a big name they like to get for these. Regardless of me wanting to see it or not, I can't deny it's a big clash. Honestly could be solid if they keep it short, and book it like Brock/Goldberg at 33.

Why does it matter if Goldberg loses? Good riddance to him, he needs to retire anyway and WWE gets to pretend facing him still matters

His whole gimmick is the undefeated MMA guy. Go to any Goldberg in WCW video, sit there, and think about it... Why does he have the ring gear that way? Why does he have the wrestling moves he has? Why is he aggressive? If you look at the time period, that gimmick is Ken Shamrock.

Shamrock was marketed as the "World's Most Dangerous Man." Goldberg doesn't need that slogan, but is the gimmick.
