I'm so glad Roman's been building up a strong and steady fanbase over 2019, but I really do hope his storylines are better in 2020.

I never hated his push because I always genuinely liked his work. He also wasn't pushed that hard.

I think a few people were like that. They liked him in The Shield days, hated his massive push and now they like him again haha.

I've been a fan from the start though. That feeling when you're the only person in the arena cheering for Roman on the Raw after Mania 33 after he beat Undertaker lol.

To me, the turning point was late 2015(?) when they had him job to Sheamus and then have the single worst WrestleMania Main Event I have seen in my entire life (Worse than Bam Bam / Taylor) against Triple H. That's when I thought I couldn't stand him anymore.

It's not even that he was just super over pushed eithe, his push just had this weird stop and start thing where he'd do crazy superman stuff and win the title but then lose it soon after, like I can't believe he's never really had a decent title reign except for maybe that one after WM 32 but it hardly counts.

Either way tho, he never deserved the boos or hatred he got IMO

Yeah, for the supposed top guy he's never really held titles for that long. I do wonder how long he might have held the Universal title for if not for the leukemia.

He's had his ups and downs. I never had much of an opinion on him either way, though. The only complaint I have about him really is the ridiculous superman punch.

But since this is an appreciation thread I'll say this: His match with AJ Styles at Extreme Rules is one of the best WWE matches of the decade imo. The first Brock match at WrestleMania 31 was also pretty sick.

I also think he has a great personality. He would really benefit from WWE being more loose with their scripting because I think the REAL Roman Reigns (Joe Anoa'i, I suppose) is a lot more endearing than what WWE has manufactured.

THIS. It's clear that Roman has a really cool real personality, I wish WWE would let him be more natural and himself more. I always knew this, but it's especially clear in that Chronicle documentary they made about Mox/Dean last year, Roman's in it a lot and he comes across so cool and fun in it.

Roman rocks, although there was a brief period where I got a little tired of him but never hated him. I agree that he is a really cool, laid back dude.
