Rihanna’s fan base may have found it difficult to provide her with a #1 album even after six years, but when it comes to supporting her singles- their buying power is unmatched.
You guessed it.
As of today, the Islander’s latest single ‘We Found Love’ is #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Full story below…

Helping her to surpass Janet Jackson’s record of having 10 #1s on the chart, ‘Love’ is the first single from Rihanna’s upcoming album ‘Talk That Talk’ to reach the top spot.
To date, the single has a digital sales figure of 1,057,000 making it the 20th download by the performer to move over a million units. Further cementing her status as the most downloaded female artist in the chart’s history.
Sure to serve as phenomenal news for the singer who is currently gearing up to release her new album on November 21st, the single follows the success of her highest selling digital release to date ‘Love The Way You Lie’, by the Rapper Eminem on which she lent her vocals too.
With 5.1 million digital copies sold, it exceeds the success her very own ‘Disturbia’ which has moved 4.3 million since its release in July 2008.

Quite the accomplishment to pull off to top a legend like Janet.

I find it odd that she has so many hit singles but her albums don't sell anywhere near as well as the singles. Surely her fans will realise that it would be cheaper for them to buy the album since all the hit singles are on there.

Good on her for breaking this record and to beat someone like Janet is very impressive. I am happy that with her latest number one it means that Calvin Harris also has a US #1 hit and hopefully it gets him some more exposure over there.

Her albums have sold really good from my understanding just haven't hit number 1 in the U.S for whatever reason. Doesn't surprise me though since some people just pay attention to the singles which is kind of Blue.

They have sold quite well but it is really strange that she has never had a number one album yet has 11 number one singles. She has a heap of fans and if they all bought it the week it was released surely that would give her the number one spot. She probably doesn't care that much though as she would have hundreds of millions of dollars.

I think a few of her albums have hit number 1 in other countries since she has a big international following just for whatever reason hasn't in the U.S. It'll probably change though.

Calvin Harris & David Guetta are so huge in Australia.

Besides that song 'We Found Love' is great.

Luciana is another one who's raking up the charts right now but Guetta & Harris are top sellers now

It is interesting that Australia normally gets into artists that are a bit different and out there.

Calvin Harris and David Guetta are huge here but others like Pink, Lagy Gaga, Kesha, Black Eyed Peas are others that have been massive here in recent years.
