This is your chance to tell us what you have just watched and review it.
A quick paragraph about the movie and what you thought. Put it on a scale of 1 to 10. It does not have to look like the great and almighty Fuji's reviews.

This is a film built around revenge. The movie starts off with Porter (Mel Gibson) laying in what seems to be a shady Doctor's office getting some bullets removed. When done takes some money from a beggar who claims to be cripple, the beggar gets up Porter shoves him down. This is the opening of the movie. I loved it. He steals from a beggar, then a waitress he cigs, and then bumps into a dude and takes his wallet. Goes to a bank and takes money off the guys credit cards. It sets up who Porter is in about 10 minutes. He is a guy that will do anything to keep going with out regard for himself to get revenge and very little money that was stolen from him.

Mel has a good cast around him Kris Kristofferson, Mario Bello, William Davane, Lucy Lui has small role as Dominatrix/hooker, and Gregg Henry. Everyone did well in their roles but Mel had the standout character int he film and why is it that Davane always is an asshole in almost every movie he is in? Oh well.

The film goes on to show in a flash back how Porter got on the Doctors table getting the bullets removed when his buddy Val turned his wife on him to take $140,000. That is about the total tickets sales for TNA's Bound for Glory in PA from OCT. Very little amount of money. Porter then decides to go find his pal Val and Wife. He finds his wife strung out on heroin in bed a drug delivery boy shows up and porter beats the hell out of him and rips his nose ring off (sort of like what we want to see done to Jesse Neal sometimes but oh well). He finds his friend in a room with Pearl who is kicking the crap out him so he can get off. Just so I don't spoil the rest of the movie I will speed it up.

Basically Porter goes on a rampage against a Crime Syndicate to get his half of the $140,000 dollars that was stolen from him. He has crooked cops trying to take a share of the money that he feels is his he sets them up for the murder of Val by stealing one of their badges and putting the murder weapon in their hands, he kidnaps the head of the crime syndicates son, rescues and escort that he was body guard of and whom he is in love with from getting killed by the syndicate.

In summary it is great little revenge movie where you can waste about 90 minutes with unbelievable things but it is edgy and keeps you interested to see what he overcomes throughout the whole film for $70,000. I loved the movie but in all fairness if it was not for Gibson's performance it probably wouldn't have been as good. He did a great job I thought. In the end I give it a 6.5/10. If you haven't seen it, its a fun ride go try it.

The Game (1997)

thegameposter-1.jpg

This movie was so great. The suspense was off the charts as Douglas' character tries to find out who the hell is fucking with him and why. The ending was great. The reveal was great. Everything was so perfect. My favorite Michael Douglas movie and definitely in my top 3 Suspense Films of all time. Highly, highly, highly recommended.

Captain America: The First Avenger

The last film in the build up to the Avengers takes a different route to it's predecessors by being set during WW2. Chris Evans is effective as Steve Rogers, a scrawny kid with the heart of a soldier who is injected with a serum to become a Super Soldier. The best way to describe this film is good. It's not as fun as Thor or Iron Man, but it's certainly not bad either. It's an easy 8, perfectly good in it's own right, but there are better super hero (especially from Marvel) out there.

such a great movie. It had me on the edge of my seat the first time I saw it and I couldn't figure out the end until it happened. Such a great ride.

I thought the movie was well done. I enjoyed it. I also liked the Red Skull in this movie too, but felt the end was rushed just to set up the Avengers.

BASEketball

MV5BMTk0MzE3OTI0MV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwMTM4OTkxMQ@@._V1._SY317_CR4,0,214,317_.jpg

Two slackers who love sports create a game that takes the world by storm and must save their team from a greedy businessman. A film from David Zucker and staring the writers of South Park what could go wrong or good based on their track records. The cast includes names like Earnest Borgnine who decides to make the game into a national sport. Robert Vaugn who is the greedy businessman who tries to make more money by setting into motion what killed all the other sports. Jenny McCarthy is the dumb blonde (not a stretch). Yasmeen Bleethe is the love interest of both Parker and Stone. There is also a host of cameos by many stars and sports people like Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Reel Big Fish, Bob Costas and Al Micheals who has one of the best lines in the movie when looking at cheerleaders says Just think these ladies where in Kindergarten not to long ago.

The movie starts off at the Wold Series where Reggie Jackson hits three homeruns. A kid catches the ball which turns out to be a young Joe Cooper beside him is a young Doug Reemer. Cooper says one day I will be a big sports star. The movie then starts making fun of the fact that teams start moving from place to place just for money along with its players because of the money instead of loyalty to the team that drafted them and made them the star. It moves to adult Cooper and Reemer going to a party that they were not invited to. The duo get into trouble at the party and head outside and begin shooting the basketball when they get challenged by two guys to a game. When they realize that they have to dribble the ball they decide to change the game to help them out thus creating the game of BASEketball.

Cooper and Reemer continue with the game almost loose their house their gas is to be shut off by Kenny whom they call Little Bitch and they keep playing the game. When Ted Denslow (Borgnine) sees the game he wants to make it a national sport. They join him in creating the sport along with some funny team names like the Dallas Felons, Milwaukee Beers, and the San Fransisco Fairies to name a few. The game is set up on Baseball rules using a Basketball and you while the person is shooting the ball you have to psyche that person out to miss the shot. During the finals of the playoffs Denslow chokes on a Hot Dog and dies, leaving the team to Cooper and Reemer instead of McCarthy's character who was his wife. Cooper and Reemer must lead the team to a championship or she gets control of the team and along comes Baxter Cain who tells her "everything is not as bad as it seems, come by my house and we will lay some carpet if you know what I mean"

Once the new season starts Cooper and Reemer try to win for Denslow and the team, but Baxter keeps trying to split them up by using some pretty heelish tactics. Cooper and Reemer meet Jenna Reed who is running a make a wish type program whom they both instantly fall for. Thus creating some more problems for our dynamic duo. Baxter has the team on the verge of collapse with in team fighting with Reemer pulling out his Dennis Rodman looks and Cooper doing what he can to keep the team together. When it is announced that Reemers clothing line that was funding Reed's foundation is run by kids, Cooper flies to the shop to fix the problem and thus pulling him and Reemer together to not only keep the team but save her foundation.

This movie is non stop laughs for me, when I want a good pick me up I just throw this in. The movie is a bit on the Raunchy side but what do you expect with Parker and Stone in the movie. This is one of those movies you go into and try not to analyze everything and just sit back and enjoy. You will hear Cartman and few other South Park voices being done by Stone and Parker. In summary I give this movie a 7/10. This is a fun little movie and if you haven't and want some good laughs pop it in.

Abduction

Nathan Harper is a kid growing up in Pittsburgh, PA with the perfect life and perfect family until the day he finds out his entire life is a lie. He is being raised by people that are not his real parents and he gets hunted down by professional killers. Nathan survives when a circle of guys start monitoring everything he is doing to help him survive and those that are trying to kill him for information that the has had since he was a kid and never knew it.

Sounds like a great ride. For the most part the movie is ok, it does start to drag a little in the middle. The action is fast paced, the supporting characters are decent, but Taylor Lautner doesn't seem to be that action kid that should be a lead in movie.

I would give this movie a 5.5/10. It's not bad good premise some of the people involved could be a little more convincing though.

Gulliver's Travels (2010)

aka, the latest Jack Black vehicle. This time, he accidently finds himself in a world of small people, first feared then adored by them.

Harmless enough, but it's pretty annoying to see Black hamming it up all the time while been supporting by a more talented cast. I mean, I like Jack Black, but when people like Emily Blunt, Jason Segal & Chris O'Dowd have to play back up instead of having meater parts, it gets tiresome. Why's this guy the Hollywood lead? He can play one character, himself.

Even more bewildering is why Billy Connerly, Catherine Tate & James Corden were brought in for such small roles. Such a waste of comedic talent. There are laughs here and there, but I was constantly thinking I'd rather be doing something else.

Haywire isn't gonna win any awards but it's a pretty damn good little action flick. Gina Carono kicks major fucking ass in it and is pretty damn hot. There is some minr plot twists but nothing ground breaking all in all it is def worth a watch and with most actions flicks its probably better on the big screen 7.5/10

A group of oil-rig roughnecks are left stranded on the sub-arctic tundra after their plane experiences a complete mechanical failure and crashes into the remote Alaskan wilderness. The survivors, battling mortal injuries, biting cold and ravenous hunger, are relentlessly hunted and pursued by a vicious pack of rogue wolves.

First off, the wolves are fucking awesome in this movie. In one scene, when the survivors first encounter the wolves, it is dark out and all you see are a bunch of glowing eyes.

Anyways, think of this movie as Alive, minus the eating of dead passengers. These guys are in the middle of nowhereland, Alaska, in the bitter cold and snow up their knees. On their first night, they make shelter out of a part of the crashed plane and take two hour shifts watching out for the wolves. There's a forest in the distance so they decide they want to make it there and hope to be better off there than in the open land.

One by one, the group is picked off by the wolves during their journey to what they think is safer land.

Not going to give anything away but some people in the theater were fucking stupid and didn't get the ending....it is rather sudden but you KNOW what happens without seeing it....he even does something that shows what will happen to him.....so, yeah, if you see it, you should be able to understand the ending. I have a feeling the people in the theater thought the opposite of what actually happened.

Good movie, Liam is excellent in it, just like he is in every other movie he is in. The only things I didn't like about it were the killing of some wolves (yeah, it's a movie, but I still hate seeing animals killed and always hope the animals get revenge, lulz) and winter. Ugh, I hate winter and you could just feel the cold as you watched this movie.

8/10

Needed more wolf scenes, though.

I am so glad that this movie was good. I am jealous that you saw it. I had to work the whole weekend. So I didn't get to see anything. Sweet.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo:

The movie wasn't horrible and it stayed true quite a bit to the book minus a few elements.
Changing the fact that Harriet was living in London as her cousin Anita was a big turn off for me in the movie. I felt that Fincher took to much of a liberty with a key twist of the movie.

Rooney Mara looked the part of Lisbeth more so than Noomi did, but she wasn't as good in the part. I felt Noomi embodied the part a lot better. Noomi embodied the spirit of LIsbeth from the books where as Rooney had more of an edge to her that didn't fit the character.

Daniel Craig dare I say was excellent as Mikael Blomkvist. I honestly didn't expect him to be that good in the role but he exceeded my expectations. Although Michael Nyqvist was also great, Daniel Craig was just that much better.

Overall the movie was decent, but Fincher took a few to many liberties. Had you never read the books or even seen the Swedish versions you may love the movie. Sadly for Fincher, I have. The movie didn't live up to my expectations for it even though they were low.

I give it a 6.5/10 Probably not a popular vote, but I preferred the Swedish versions so much more.

Planet of The Apes- the original one.

Taylor (Charlton Heston) and a group of astronauts are in space. They crash on a planet in the year 3900 which looks barren of life. Upon investigating the land for food and life they stumble upon a colony of humans which can not speak at all get attacked by apes on horses that can talk.

Taylor and his fellow astronaughts get caught and are held captive by the apes. A female scientist takes to him and helps him. Once Taylor tries to escape and they realize he can talk they are all flabbergasted by it and try to kill him.

Taylor talks the scientist and her fiance to help him they escape and find a cave which has false teeth and a doll that talks english which makes the ever holy Dr. Zaes upset. Taylor captures him to keep everyone safe and rides off on the beach.

I only rewatched this due to Rise of the Planet of the Apes just to see the full story. I must say I forgot how enjoyable this film was and how good the ape costumes were for a movie dated in the 60's. I would give this a 6\10. If you haven't seen it give it a try, especially if you have only seen the Tim Burton version which was no where near as good.

Morning Glory

Rachael McAdams is fun as Becky, the new news producer for down on it's luck DayBreak, a morning news show (yes UK viewers, I know....). She struggles to turn it around despite hiring experienced but unwilling and downright grumpy Mike Pomeroy (Harrison Ford) and bring some positivity back to the production team.

It's fun, that's pretty much the gist of it. McAdams, Ford and Diane Keaton (as Pomeroy's fellow host) are all great, especially Ford, but it's pretty run of the mill stuff story wise. The cast make this film, which surprised me as this movie is under the Bad Robot banner and was produced by J.J. so I was expecting more. 7/10
