This season, fan injuries have become much more common than they have in other years, which is unfortunate, hell, there were just two this past weekend, one on Friday in Detroit, and the other on Sunday in Chicago, but what bothers me about it is that people just can't seem to understand that there's not much that can really be done about it. I've heard people say "put up more netting", "attending a baseball game should be fun, not a risk" Well whether those people like it or not, more netting wouldn't help anything and there will always be risks associated with attending a baseball game. A baseball game is not, has never been, and will never be a 100% safe environment no matter how hard the league wants to try to make it. They can put all the netting up they want, (which them putting more netting up in like censoring porn) but foul balls and errant bat pieces will continue to go everywhere and anywhere they damn well please. At the end of the day, by going to a game, you're assuming the inherent risk that comes with baseballs and broken bats flying around at high velocity.
Rant over.
