Tapout's NXT Reviews

Seeing how I can once again watch NXT for free online, I will be watching the shows Thursday or Friday and writing a review about them. So..let's get started!

Opening Segment
Corey Graves gets attack by The Ascension in what comes off as a little over the top. Was a good backstage beat down though, that furthers Ascensions goal of becoming Tag Team Champions.

Match 1: Tyler Breeze vs. CJ Parker
Both of these guys just got new gimmicks and I'm not sure if I like them or hate them. The CJ Parker one reminds me of Dude Love so thats a plus on his side. Tyler Breeze's gimmick is your typical "Beautiful" gimmick but one hasn't been done in a while so I'm okay with it. The match takes way to long to start too. Then theres about 2-3 minutes of awkward wrestling before an abrupt in. Not a very good opening match at all.

Backstage interview with Emma. She comes off as SUPER annoying and I do not like it. Not a fan of her gimmick at all. She's facing Summer Rae next.

Match 2: Summer Rae vs. Emma
First off, I love Summer Rae and would like to see WWE use her more in a wrestling role on WWE TV. Before the match we get a pointless announcement saying that Tyler Breeze has left. Um...okay. Emma's entrance confirms my dislike of her. Just..ugh. No. Summer Rae looks and handles herself as a star. I like it. The match starts of as a typical divas match. Looks a little rough but still better than the opening match. Emma wins after the Emma Lock. Ugh. Wait. After the match Summer attacks Emma and pours her bubbles all over her face. Love it. Summer is great.

Weird backstage segment with Scott Dawson, Leufort, Cassidy, and Enzo Amore (didn't check spelling on any) I think Sylvester Leufort could actually make a really good manager. Don't like Dawson. Cassidy is a tall Mother trucker and I like his team with Enzo.

Great promo from Summer. Seriously. Stand out diva of NXT. There's a reason shes on WWE more then any of the others

Match 3: Scott Dawson vs. Enzo Amore

Really really liking Enzo Amore and Collin Cassidy. Nice look and nice gimmick. They get really good reactions from the crowd too. Loudest I've heard all show. Its a good match given the time it got. Dawson picks up the win after Alexander Russev (Spelling? God why does half the NXT roster have names hard to spell?) Best match of the show so far, but that's not saying much given whats been shown so far. Promo with Sami Zayne next. This gots to be good.

Sami Zayne Promo
The crowd loves this guy. As do I. Has a great look to him, and is charismatic. Here comes Bo Dallas. Don't screw this up Bo. "No more Bo" chant. Freaking awesome. Side not, the belt looks awkward as hell. Holy shit. Take the mic from this guy right now. I don't even want to watch anymore. Bo makes some terrible Superbowl reference. If Zayne wasn't win this segment I would skip it entirely. How this guy became NXT champion is beyond me. Bo, do the right thing. Just give Zayne the title. Oh wait, here comes Zeb Colter. So...are they playing Zayne from Canada? Because if not I don't get this Zeb/Zayne problem. "Deported back to Hell, where you belong." How good is this Sami guy? Swagger comes out and attacks Zayne. Gut-wrench to Zayne. The flag is thrown on to Zayne and I'm still confused. This is because he's Canadian, right? So...okay? Just seems to be pulling at straws now.

Final thoughts for that segment? Fire Bo.

Match 4: Adrian Neville vs. Conner O'Brian

Hoping for a good match. I know Conner is average and I always hear good things about Neville. Holy shit. Either Neville is tiny or Conner O'Brian is a freaking giant. This looks so mismatched. Is it just more or do Neville's teeth look yellow as hell? Like, they just look terrible. Could just be the stream. Whatever. Sami Zayne vs. Swagger announced for next week. Okay, they called him the Canadian Sensation so it makes more sense now. Its no surprise why these two are main eventing. Clearing shows how much better they are than most of the roster. Neville is a threat to Evan Bourne's spot. Plays the "Little Highflyer" Role better. Short match that gets ended by a 450. Needs a new finisher. 450 belongs to Justin Gabriel, and I'm not a fan of two people having the same finisher. Predictable post match beatdown. I like the focus on the Tag Team Division though. Some good talent there.

Overall thoughts:

Very boring episode with no stand out match. Moments of the night were Summer Rae and Sami Zaynes promos. Hopefully next week will be better. Thanks for reading.
