NXT Women's Champion Io Shirai vs. Raquel González
Night 1 Main Event

Io Shirai isn’t waiting for her next challenger to step up. Instead, she’s coming to them.

The Genius of the Sky will defend the NXT Women’s Championship against the dominant Raquel González — her opponent of choice — as they main event Night 1 of NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver on Wednesday, April 7 on USA Network, as first reported by "Muscle & Fitness Hers."

Time and time again, Shirai has soared past the competition, prevailing against the best NXT has to offer. Candice LeRae, Toni Storm, Dakota Kai, Tegan Nox have all failed to knock her from the throne.

Shirai, not one to rest on her laurels, didn’t celebrate her most recent defense against Storm for long, confronting González later that night and demanding to face “Big Mami Cool.”

Few Superstars, if any, have had a more impressive past year in NXT than González. Bursting onto the scene with her alliance with Dakota Kai, González has racked up accolades in short order. She has defeated former NXT Women’s Champions Rhea Ripley and Ember Moon, and with Kai won the first-ever Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and were crowned the first-ever NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Will “Big Mami Cool” show that her dominance knows no bounds? Or will Shirai’s genius prove unsolvable once again?​

Hell yeah. Dexter Lumis, Bronson Reed, Cameron Grimes, Karrion Kross, Santos Escobar and Timothy Thatcher all might as well be the same guy.

I'm really fearful we just might get a Title change between Io and Raquel from this Show. Granted Io if anyone gets the time go watch her Stardom stuff vs Bigger talent and she's always killed it out there and if WWE were ever to put Raquel over she would be the perfect talent to that for her. I don't want to happen personally, but if it happens it leads to Dakota eventually winning the title so I won't be bummed for too long.

NXT Champion Finn Bálor vs. Karrion Kross w/Scarlett
Night 2 Main Event

Finn Bálor has been virtually untouchable since his return to NXT, but he’s about to face his toughest test yet as NXT Champion.

The Prince will put his title on the line against the undefeated Karrion Kross, accompanied by Scarlett, at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver.

Bálor has stood tall in the face of all challengers during his six-month reign atop the black-and-gold brand, defeating the likes of Adam Cole, Pete Dunne and Kyle O’Reilly.

However, The Prince’s opportunity to become champion emerged after Kross was forced to vacate the title in August due to injury. The doomsday deviant has been on an absolute rampage since returning, dismantling Damian Priest, Santos Escobar and more.

The two finally came face to face following Bálor’s title defense against Cole, with Kross locking eyes on The Prince and the championship he never lost.

Bálor is perhaps better than he’s ever been, while Kross may be the most unstoppable force in NXT history. When they finally meet at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver, something has to give!

Really pulling for Kross to win back the NXT World Title over Balor in this one. Kross I've been saying for three Years now was a Star in the making and I was proven right till his injury and now he has a chance to reach the top of the Mountain again I think it happens for him. I think Balor having all these grueling battles since coming back was very much in my opinion what WWE did in 96 with Bret Hart. They had Bret Hart in battles like with The British Bulldog all making it look that when HBK would beat him he was legit beating the DA MAN in Wrestling especially WWE.

Well that would be an equally misguided statement to be fair.

I get JPT thinking NXT is dull, my interest has definitely dried up on it as well, starting back around the time it went to 2 hours and got on USA.

The claim that all the characters look and wrestle the same is just silly though.

NXT low key puts on solid shows every week and at least has one banger of a match imo, to each their own though.

This is shaping up to be a solid looking card. I’m sure we’re getting Adam Cole vs Kyle O’Reilly on one of the nights.

Can anyone quickly fill me in on why Ciampa is wrestling for the UK Title? Is it just kinda by default because he was facing Walter regardless and they just figured to put the belt at stake?
