In a post on another thread I was talking about a thing we do not have in the present era of WWE and That's Novel calibur Storylines. Here is the post:
2. Deep Interesting Novel story lines: Storylines that are worthy of a best selling Novel. Undertaker and Kane 90s, Triple H and Shawn Michaels, Rock and Stone Cold, Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart, Stone Cold and Vince McMahon, Chris Benoit vs Kurt Angle, etc. Those rivalries were not just great Storylines but they were like Legends or Tales you would pass down to your children and their children. These rivalries could last more than a year and the fans would not be tired. They always gave you a great story and a great match to back it up. Nowadays they give you rivalries that you'd be tired of after a week.

You see in this present Era there aren't any Novel like Storylines. Most of your Novel based Storylines are battles between two elite Superstars that can go on and off in a specific time for a very long time, maybe even their whole career for some. I believe some that don't go on and off, some can go straight through a year depending how good it is. Stories can feature more than two guys but mostly it's two.

And not just any two guys they have to have perfect chemistry.

In the Reality Era it seems there's is no one to fit into a Novel based Story. Because truly 90% of the time we get tired of the story after a month. There are some special rivalries in WWE. But we get tired of them at the most a month..

Seth Rollins is good but I cannot think of the perfect one in WWE who would be his Novel Rival. I cannot think of one for Joe, Balor, Braun, Ambrose, and MOST of all Reigns.

There has got to be a perfect match for These guys to have a Novel based Rival.

Some of the Novel Rivalries
were bigger than business itself. Like how Lebron James and Michael Jordan is.

Even guys who never watched wrestling knew about Andre The Giant vs Hulk Hogan. They kinda looked at it like a Roman Mythology thing. I guess you can call it American Mythology.

But IDK if they could ever again pull one off. There last one to me was the Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and Undertaker end of an era rivalry. But they're adding more chapters to that. It's either that or John Cena vs The Rock. I don't consider Roman vs Lesnar a Novel it's a coloring book or a comic

What do you all think? Can they do another one? Who are perfect for one? Anything else you think?

WWE puts out 5 hours of tv (not including ppvs) a week. People's attention spans are weak. I think there is a link.

One of the criticism of some WWE stories is over saturation. For example Rollins feuded with The Bar for 6 months.

We get tired of a story maybe because we see them wrestle too much. I think there are many examples of that.

Exactly! There are are others we get tired of because the Storyline is stupid. Like Braun turning Heel to fight Reign. But we get tired of that Repetitive bullshit they make over and over. Like Randy and Cena, and Brock and Roman.

There are even rumors of another Brock vs Roman match at Survivor Series...
May God have mercy on us all.:emoji_scream:

Brock vs Roman has been going on for 4 years now. It has been really shite. The biggest long term story in WWE that they have put the most effort into has been shite.

Even though the people making those rumors are actually speculating right now, I am still worried because this is something WWE would pull.

I would hate to see another BS chapter in the Lesnar and Reigns Saga

Good stories are hard to tell in this day and age. The roster is growing old, the influx of new talent has stopped and right now all the weight is being carried on the shoulders of the vets. How are we going to create interesting ideas if the people involved have to work with all the old faces again? I mean, we have to look at who could be involved in a story and more importantly, how long they could go on. Many last only a couple of months and then we go back to square one.

The influx of new talent in WWE doesn't ever stop. If you compare this roster to only a mere 3 years ago its very different. We have new and returning faces mixing up the roster every year. To the point that it is getting silly.
