We've got Stacy Keibler vs. Torrie Wilson in a Lingerie Match, Christian vs. Edge in a ladder match, Chris Jericho vs. The Rock for the WCW Championship and Stone Cold Steve Austin defending the WWF Championship against Rob Van Dam and Kurt Angle in the main event! And this is 2001 so you know there's going to be antics!

Not sure what time that is UK? Late I'm guessing! I do tend to stay up late most nights. If I'm around I might watch along or at least make some comments.

I will be playing the role of the WCW/ECW Coalition Alliance color commentator for this evening. Thank you.

While EC and I can and will hold down the fort this evening I do hope to see many more shiny happy people.

This is a great show, been a bit since I watched it but Jericho/Rock rules so much. Also has a really solid undercard with some matches delivering more than you'd expect from what I remembered.

This is one of my favorite shows from the short lived Invasion. Most of the card delivers imo. Seeing RVD in the main event mixing it up with Austin and Angle is fuckin' great. Angle and Austin had been killing it all Summer as well and now throw in RVD?

You won't hear a lot of Invasion angle slander from me just because 01 is one of WWE's best in-ring years. I just thought the story overall was weak, but almost all the PPVs in 01 ruled.

2001 is probably my favorite year for WWF/E. The in-ring product was fantastic, the roster was GOAT and honestly I loved the story. It obviously could have been ten times better had WWE spent the money, I still think in the early goings of the Invasion, it felt like WWF was scared of the Alliance putting them out of business. On top of that, WCW not having their top guys also allowed some underused WWF guys to get pushes they weren't before like when Christian turns on Edge to join the Alliance and we get this ladder match as a result. I also love when Test was falsely accused of defecting and so because he was mad he did and that lead to the awesome immunity battle royal. So much greatness.

2000 is my favorite year and 01 is similar so I can agree with that

Think the main problem with the Invasion Angle was the WCW/ECW guys weren't put over enough. Never felt like a true threat to WWF. Plus by making establish WWF talent the stars of the Alliance watered it down even more. It is a shame they never ran with the idea of developing a WCW show outside of the WWF one then building to the big payoff feuds.

Going into the Invasion PPV they sold the fuck out of the idea they could put WWF out of business and when Austin defcted at the show, I felt they had a real shot of doing it. The main problem was the Alliance lost momentum at SummerSlam, but honestly even though the initial threat factor was gone, it was still a solid angle and many good matches and PPVs came out of it.

Oh yeah it started off well I won't disagree there. But its easy to kick off an angle hot. Its harder to build on it and give it a good finish. The Alliance lacked their own identity too. They always felt like the WWF version of WCW/ECW.

That's cuz they were and once I made peace with that I thoroughly enjoyed the angle and still do to this day.

Don't get me wrong I'd fantasy book the invasion vastly different. Even if I couldn't have the top guys.

(Though, there's no reason not to considering how cheaply Vince bought WCW pennies on the dollar.)
