Well since we only had an off-season discussion thread I figured it was time to have a regular season one as well. We're only a couple of weeks in but things are already beginning to take shape this year, one of which is how insanely good the Seahawks are at home. I mean, its one thing to beat San Francisco, its another entirely to DECIMATE them like they did on Sunday night (and last season as well iirc). If I did Power Rankings, I'd have the top 5 listed as such right now...

1. Seattle Seahawks
2. Denver Broncos
3. San Francisco 49er's
4. Green Bay Packers
5. New Orleans Saints (in all honesty, Atlanta and Houston could both be in this spot as well but the Saints edge it for me due to their win over the Falcons and Houston's oddly shaky D)

Obviously these are just my opinion so if you want to agree or disagree that would be awesome and I'd love to see what you think.

A few other things of note from the first two weeks...

- Holy shit there have been a lot of Safety's!
- There's also been a lot of close games, which is always exciting.
- Buffalo HAS a QB!!! Well, at least for now they do!
- Jacksonville vs. Cleveland in the Teddy Bridgewater sweepstakes?

Finally, some more food for thought....what the fuck were the Browns thinking trading Trent Richardson to the Colts?

Oh and here's one to go on, out of the teams that have started the season 0-2, which has the best chance to rebound and end up making the playoffs? Here's the list...

Cleveland Browns
Pittsburgh Steelers
Jacksonville Jaguars
Carolina Panthers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Minnesota Vikings
New York Giants
Washington Redskins

IMO the Giants are the team with the best chance, simply because the other ones just look like they have too many issues and play a lot of tough games. Besides, as bad as Eli's stat line looks, several of those picks he's thrown weren't really his fault (especially that bizarre one that went off the Denver guy's foot on Sunday!).

Re: NFL Regular Season Discussion - Week 3

I have to agree with The Giants still making the playoffs because the NFC East is a wasteland. Richardson trade baffled me and seriously did the Steelers and Jets not even try to beat that offer? Browns are thirsty for that franchise QB and they either want Bridgewater or Jonny Football. Watch them trade Joe Haden for another first rounded lol. Colts offense is gonna be sick nasty now. Also I am happy as fuck to see Brandon Jacobs come home to finish his career where he belongs. Also can you imagine how nasty the Bengals would be if they had a QB who could actually throw the ball? Same times two for Vikings. Good to see EJ Manuel with the Bills I like them and hope they do well. Also what are your thoughts on the Bears is this finally the year Cutler becomes legit?

I think the Bears are a capable team that has a good shot of grabbing one of the Wild Card spots in the NFC. Their schedule only includes two really tough road games (Week 9 at Green Bay, Week 12 at St. Louis and that's more of a trap because they play the Vikings the following week). If they beat Pittsburgh on the road this week (totally feasible considering how bad the Steelers look right now) and Detroit the following week (shouldn't be an issue) they have a home match against the Saints. If they win that they'd be 5-0 and I'd have to consider them a legitimate threat at that point.

Re: NFL Regular Season Discussion - Week 3

I would also say that the Bears should do well the whole season unless Cutler falters.

I also think the Giants have the best chance to go to the playoffs despite starting 0-2.

My question is which team despite the Jaguars will.have the worst record?

Browns might be worse then the Jags man. They might as well trade Joe Haden to the Giants.

The Bucs are also horrible and seem to have major off-field problems. I'm looking at their schedule right now and I honestly don't see where they win one game.

True, but we can still reap the benefits by fading them all season in survivor. Ok, maybe not every home game because I'm sure they'll get lucky, but I can't see them winning a single game on the road, starting with this week's where New England should be up to the task of brutalizing them.

I never thought I'd hear myself say this, but the Steelers are so fucking awful they're really making me enjoy football less as a whole. That should never happen.

Who would have thought that the Steelers and the Giants would be a combined 0-8 after four weeks? Maybe we should start a VBookie on which team will win first? The only saving grace for Pittsburgh is that they can't lose next week since they're on a bye.

In the meantime, this Philly/Denver game is pretty exciting so far and its helping to take a bit of the bad taste of the Steelers game out of my mouth.

Seahawks 4-0 baby! Dat game was sick! Arian Foster gave me mad points for my league and my Seahawks still won so I'm happy. I was actually chanting "INT INT INT" right before Schaub threw the INT to Sherman.
