SP's Extreeeeme Review 05/22/07
Welcome to this week's ECW review, and if you guys don't feel like reading, I'll say it right now... Other than the ME this show sucked. Now, onto the recap.
This if course is the first ECW since the release of Sabu and Ariel, and there was absolutely no mention of Sabu on the show.... Nice.
We are live from Des Moines Iowa, and start the show off with Snitsky and his horrible teeth, they're so yellow that well, I can't believe its not butter. His opponent is another ECW original Tommy Dreamer. I find it awesome that there are a ton of Dreamer chants in the building... Because we all know Iowa was a hotspot for the original ECW... >_>
Snitsky vs Tommy Dreamer (ECW Original vs WWE Original Pro Choice)
This is a total squash. Dreamer gets in some offense including the DDT. Dreamer goes to the second rope and is met with a Clothesline on his way down. Snitsky follows up with the Big Boot and this is over.
Winner: Snitsky
After the match Snitsky grabs a chair and goes to hit Dreamer who's in the corner but.... RVD COMES IN AND MAKES THE SAVE!! He hits a kick from the second rope and scares away Snitsky.
Random Thought: It looks like RVD will be putting Snitsky over at ONS. Not Burke, Punk, or Cor Von... He'll be putting Snitsky over. Great FUCKING JOB WWE! Let's push a guy who will probably be gone when October rolls around instead of pusing one of the three guys who actually have a future in the company.
Highlights from Judgment Day... It still sucks. We come back and we see the Timbaland video... Did I say the show was terrible?
Kevin Thorn comes out alone to face some jobber.... I already miss Ariel
Kevin Thorn vs. Wyatt Lara (Blood Bank Job Match)
Facebuster by Thorn, followed up by a series of kicks and The Dark Kiss (Renamed The Original Sin) and this one's over.
Winner: Kevin Thorn
Backstage Burke and Cor Von are talking to one another and Striker interrupts (because he's white) Burke tells him he doesn't want to hear him (because he's white) and he better get the job done against one of the Major Brothers, or else Striker will have to pay... Presumably because he's white.
Matt Striker vs. Brett Major w/ Brian Major (Redemption in a State That Doesn’t Give You 5 Cents Match)
Striker hits a coule of Suplexes and goes for another one but Brett counters into the Sunset Flip for two. Striker hits a big Clothesline. Striker goes for yet another Suplex but that's countered into a Small Package for two. He misses a dropkick and Striker hits the Golden Rule and gets the pin.
Winner: Matt Striker
Highlights are shown from RAW... Lashley beat up some people and got a shot against Vince at ONS for the ECW title... It will be a Street Fight.
RVD comes out followed by Punk and then the New Breed make their entrance.
Rob Van Dam and CM Punk vs. Elijah Burke and Marcus Cor Von (Why Does the Black Team Gotta Be the Bad Guys?)
Cor Von has control early on using his strength. Burke tags in and tries to keep it but Van Dam gets the tag and Punk hits Burke with a clothesline from the top. After a commercial, Cor Von has RVD in a single leg Boston Crab. Burke then tags in and puts Rob in another submission hold with his legs. Cor Von tags back and keeps the focus on Van Dam’s knees. Burke tags in but Rob is able to break free and tag in Punk who hits the knee in the corner followed by The Bulldog (Not The British Bulldog). RVD then goes for a dive over the top but misses. Punk sets up Burke for the G2S but Cor Von hits a shoulder block to his gut. He hits the POUUUUUUNCE on Punk but is DQ'ed for not being the legal man.... Did I say this show was terrible?
Winners: Rob Van Dam and CM Punk
Cor Von hits the POUUUUUUUNCE on Van Dam who actually does a 360 in mid-air to sell the move.
Best Moment of the night: The Pounce on Van Dam
Worst Moment of the nightl The Rest of the show
Once again... This show sucked. This gets a thumbs down. If you can find the Tag-Match *CoughDAILYMOTIONCough* watch it, you can skip the rest.
And in case no one else saw it I'll say this again... It looks like RVD will be putting Snitsky over at ONS. Not Burke, Punk, or Cor Von... He'll be putting Snitsky over. Great FUCKING JOB WWE! Let's push a guy who will probably be gone when October rolls around instead of pusing one of the three guys who actually have a future in the company.
No pimpin this week... I'm tired. If this review doesn't look as crisp as it normally does... Its because I wrote a review worthy of what I got on from this show.
I'm out till next week... Unless the show gets cancelled before then.
