Alright, so I just recently watched Nic Cage's latest movie, "Trespass". That one 'home invasion' movie with Nicole Kidman that nobody saw. Started out horrible but ended on a decent note.

That seems to be the thing with a lot of Cage's movies lately. Drive Angry, Season of the Witch, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, etc. I personally believe he's lost his touch (either that or he's just worn out and is pretty much phoning it in in all of his performances).

With that said, what are some of your favorite/least favorite Nicholas Cage movies?

Favorites:
Face/Off
National Treasure 1 & 2
Con Air
Honeymoon In Vegas
Leaving Las Vegas

Least Favorites:
Ghost Rider (Yes, I did not enjoy this movie at all)
Bangkok Dangerous
Next
The Wicker Man (Holy hell this thing was funny but one of the worst remakes I've ever seen)

Nicholas Cage has been so hit or miss lately. Or really his whole career.

I do like Face/Off and ConAir but what has he made lately that's been any good?

I don't know what he needs to do at this point. Perhaps just sit on his money.

From looking at his IMDb page, it seems like all of the movies he's done that are anything noteworthy, I mentioned in my OP. Also, Gone in 60 Seconds which I did enjoy to a degree.

I think Nic's problem is that he over-acts a lot. Like, way too much. It's so evident in Trespass.

It's funny that you say this because I was literally saying the same thing to someone yesterday. We were talking about throwing celebrities for a loop if we met them and we both agreed we'd tell Cage he's one of the worst actors ever just to see his reaction.

I have liked most of the movies mentioned like conair, gone in 60 seconds, face off, and even the national treasure movies. I think what helped him in those movies was the fact that he had decent actors around him that seemd to help the product.

My friends mother once said something about a new movie coming out and said "It must be good if it has Nicholas Cage in it" and despite feeling like I should've stayed silent I couldn't and I told her that Cage sucked. So yeah, I don't like the guy. I think I started to realize this when Ghost Rider came out and I thought it would be so bad ass, but then I hated it. Drive Angry was alright if you ask me, but I still didn't finish the whole thing. So yeah, Cage is pretty damn bad and pretty much always has been...

I think Cage made it to where he is because of his uncle and is signing up for any movie he can because of his financial problems.

Well in theory he did change his name to stop people from connecting him with his uncle, but at the same time its obvious that nepotism got him where he is. Haha, and now he's near bankrupt so yeah, he has to be in tons of movies that stink like Season of the Witch and Sorcerer's Apprentice.

I liked Snake Eyes, but only for the first 15 minutes.

I figured that would be your favorite considering your affinity for the one eyed trouser snake.

Well there IS that, but the other reason is that the first 15 minutes are one long tracking shot through an entire arena until a guy gets shot. Very cool stuff from director Brian De Palma and its a shame that the film totally falls apart immediately after. I didn't mind Con Air either, but not because of Cage, Malkovich and Buscemi made that movie good.

I love Steve Buscemi. That dude cracks me up, he was so fucking twisted in that movie, I thought he stole the show in the movie Armageddon too.
