Quentin Tarantino teases Kill Bill Vol. 3 is in the cards

With Quentin Tarantino supposedly set to retire after his tenth film, there’s lots of debate and speculation on what his final film will be, whether an R-rated Star Trek or Kill Bill Vol. 3 and now the 56-year-old writer/director has once again teased the revival of his acclaimed Uma Thurman-starring martial arts series. In an interview on Andy Cohen Live, Tarantino revealed that he recently sat down for a dinner with Thurman and that after years of pondering over the project and fans’ requests, he does “have an idea of what I would do with it.”

“That was the whole thing, conquering that concept,” Tarantino said. “What’s exactly happened to the Bride, right, and what do I want to do? I wouldn’t want to just come up with some cockamamie adventure. She doesn’t deserve that. Now I actually have an idea that could be interesting.”

Unfortunately for fans hoping this means it could very well be his next big screen outing, Tarantino did clarify he most likely would not work on the third film for at least three years, as he has written a play and a five-episode TV show and is trying to figure out what he wants to do as his next venture following this year’s five Golden Globe-nominated period dramedy Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Kill Bill: Volume 1 was released in 2003 and starred Thurman in the iconic role of The Bride, one of her most recognizable roles. The film was followed by Volume 2 in 2004, both of which received positive reviews from critics.

In a past interview, Tarantino himself was the first one to suggest a Volume 3 as a film he’d like to make happen, wanting to see Vernita Green’s daughter Nikki get her own revenge on Beatrix. In the years since Tarantino has been non-comittal about the project, and any actual traction on the film remains to be seen.

ComingSoon.net asked its readers earlier this year if they’d like to see the writer/director bring the franchise back to life, with 80% agreeing he should make Volume 3, and 79% of voters believing Stranger Things 3 breakout Maya Hawke should star as Beatrix Kiddo, aka The Bride’s, daughter B.B.

It's just not just about the money with this though of course you're in the business to make money, but this is his baby in a sense and I believe he could give us some good shit with a third film. I mean you could have The Bride returning to get back her Daughter who kidnapped because you would think by now she is an adult. You could have her Daughter taking revenge for the death of her Mother or maybe something to where she needs to help save her Mother and it's a passing of the torch thing. So many possibilities to be honest.

Yeah I always thought that having that one daughter get revenge on Beatrix would be a cool concept for the film to show how revenge is a never ending story, but it would make this feel more like an epilogue than a true "Vol. 3" since the first two movies told The Bride's story perfectly.

Oh for sure that needs to happen. QT's attention to detail would tell me Vernita Green aka Copperhead for sure come into play. Her Daughter maybe works for the big bad in the third film their is a two fights at the end of the film.

He wants Maya Hawke!! QT has been acting a fool with Bruce Lee and his showing Once Upon a Time in Hollywood which I haven't seen outside the Fight with Lee but I'll forgive him to a degree if he can just get this off the thinking tank mode and actually filming. I know Uma would do the film with her Daughter in a hot minute.

From what I heard those rumours themselves never came from Thurman and she basically denied it. Could be wrong, but I heard that mentioned.

I don't really care about this. Not a fan of the original films which were pushing a point stretching out to 4 and an half bloody hours anyway A one off comeback film might be good, who knows.

Shoot I would watch a 10 Hour film if it was as good as Kill Bill and it didn't feel too slow of a Film. I do think this Film gets done eventually and it would help Hawke greatly for people to see her kicking ass like her Mother.
