The year 2009, what does it have in store for Jeff Hardy?

I would love to see Jeff Hardy win the Championship at Armageddon if not then maybe the Royal Rumble victory which would give him a solid start for 2009. If that's reserved for someone else, Hardy should definitely win the Money in the Bank Ladder Match at WrestleMania and win the Championship somewhere around Summer 2009. I personally think this is going to be the big year for Jeff Hardy. After all he shouldn't be bound to mid-card status for life, they need to do something useful with him. Hardy's done nothing memorable in the past year except some short feuds with Main Event Superstars and that's not been all that impressive as well, will this coming year be any better? Thoughts?

This will be Jeff Hardy's version of CM Punk's miracle year.
Not the exact same events, but it will be his breakthrough.
he's been main eventing for about 5 months now, and it will continue into 2009 IMO, because I really see him winning it at the PPV.
After that, he may or may not headlien WM, but even if he doesn't, I see him headlining many other ppv's after that.

So yes, I think this upcoming year will be even better.

Definately a title run by WM...hopefully at WM. Jeff has got the WWE in the palm of his hand right now. He is the one guy who everyone wants to see make it to the top. I think 2009 will definately be his year. Honestly I think a one on one feud between him and Edge if done right will be the feud of the year for 2009.

He'll be in the upper-midcard for life. You can't trust him as a world champion because of the amount of times that he fucked up, and you can't job him out because of how popular he is. So he'll stay right where he's at not only through 2009, but until the end of his career

^u make a really good argument but the wwe cant keep him there forever because he is so popular. everyone wants to see him champ. he gets pretty much the loudest pop out of anyone in the wwe. hes been better with his promos within the last year and even if they arent good i think his ring work does the talking. hes one of the best wrestlers in the business imo. he has fucked up way to many times but i would like to think that if he makes it to the top that he wont fuck up again. i think he should and will win the title at mania or at the rumble maybe. i think he has a great chance to win the rumble if hes in it. if he is in it i guarantee hes the last one eliminated if he doesnt win it and he will probably come in in the first three spots. hes the classic underdog and the wwe liked that with cena and i think hardy will take his underdog place...

I would love to see a Jeff Hardy title run, but, I totally believe that WWE missed their chance with him. People now believe that he can't beat HHH. And if he did, it wouldn't be at all believable. The fans wouldn't take him seriously as a champion because he has been made to look weak. And yes, I know HHH isn't champ, but being made look weak against HHH would hurt you for a while.

Lets see. In one of the title matches, Triple H took BOTH a Twist Of Fate and a Swanton, only to roll up Jeff Hardy and pull off the bullshit win. How does that at all help Jeff? It makes him look weak, and HHH look stronger, which only hurts Jeff and doesn't help HHH at all. But, in all the matches, Jeff never kicked out of the Pedigree. He never no sold the pedigree.

I know there is always the thing going round of HHH is holding down talent, but this is one case I believe it happened. Jeff is probably in the top 3 most over guys in the company. People were getting sick of HHH being a face. People were getting sick of HHH in general, Jeff could have been the fresh face that brought some life back. Did it happen? No. WWE weren't prepared to take a risk, and it backfired. People, including me, lost interest. And finally, when there is a chance for HHH to lose it, they have some stupid storyline about Jeff not being able to COMPETE! Now come on, that's just bullcrap. And then Edge shows up and wins the title, when in reality, it would have been best for Jeff to win it.

^he actually kicked out of a pedigree in the elimination chamber and then hhh pedigreed him again on a steel chair for the win. i think a jeff hardy vs edge feud is coming on and even though edge has beaten jeff in the past, jeff has proven he can come within inches of beating HHH and i think he can beat edge now. if edge goes over hardy it wont be clean. it never is with edge... thats how edge puts people over and i think hardy will eventually be over enough (if he isnt already) for him to get the belt for at least a short reign. (although id like him to have a longer one)

I meant during those three matches he and HHH had. The Elimination Chamber wasn't really during the feud. That was when it looked like he was gonna have a title by like Judgement Day and then got suspended.

Jeff wins the Rumble. Jeff wins the championship at 'Mania. Jeff drops the belt and returns to the upper/mid-card like so many others.

Can't be arsed to compose a fully fledged reply to the same old mis-appropriated bitching about HHH, but:

1. Firstly, HHH made Hardy look STRONG in those 3 matches this year. He's now a FAR more credible title prospect than he EVER was.

2. Your 3rd paragraph does nothing to substantiate your accusing HHH of holding Hardy down. Whether you understand the fact or not, you're talking about writing and booking.

'Smart fans'...!?!?!?!? : pfffffffffffffff :

I was gonna rattle on about the shite Kizza Wrote bout HHH but cant be arsed and there is a HHH haters thread for that.

So on topic I think Jeff's push has made to look strong and a credible ME star and IMO he will hold the wwe title. And it will come by 1 of two ways. 1st he wins rumble and get shot at Mania, which him and edge could easily draw. Or he will win it before mania for a short run. And SORRY to all the smart fans but Trips had a big part in making Jeff look strong and credible regardless of what certain fans think. He may not av pinned him 123 But there matches made Jeff look good and strong and he wasn't buried in the slightest. Sorry couldn't help it at to have my 2cents worth ;)

I don't think HHH is necessarily holding Jeff down...and neither is he catapulting him into the main event scene. HHH has put Jeff over quite a few times...by rollup. Right now Jeff still seems like that underdog that is just barely scraping by in the main event scene. True, he beat Undertaker, but not in a clean singles match. Although a clean "swanton" win over HHH won't make everyone say "OMFG! JEFF IS THE GREATEST EVER!" it will help him gain that extra momentum he needs to take the title.
And to say leaving Hardy out of that main event was wrong is just plain silly. It's building tension and setting establishing grounds for a feud between him and Edge. It also gave Edge a nice big heel note to come back on...taking out the top contender earlier in the night. WWE is a business, giving Hardy the title now would do nothing for them. If he's going to get it it'll be at Mania. What can't be said however is how long of a reign he will have.
