James Ellsworth to be signed to WWE soon?

It looks like WWE may be signing everyone's favorite jobber James Ellsworth soon.

There has been an internal push over the last week to sign Ellsworth to a full-time deal, according to PWInsider. As noted, Ellsworth's merchandise sales have been ahead of top Superstars in the company, which turned a lot of heads among higher-ups.

As noted, there have also been rumors of Ellsworth getting a spot in the 2017 Royal Rumble main event.

I know a lot of people will be mad about this but I personally think it will be a good move for them, even if he is only signed from now till the end of next year. He is an average joe who is competing with huge dudes. People like to see this, specially kids. It makes them feel they can be a wrestler too. This can also play in to the games favor because he is like a generic "create a super star" guy.

People don't like James Ellsworth, but feel for the guy because of his status in the company. He's a goofy looking guy, that has become a meme in WWE. I'd like for him to get signed, because he deserves a shot at big money, but I'm not thinking he's gonna become a big star. He'll become the new Santino.

It's official: James Ellsworth has signed a WWE contract.

As noted, James Ellsworth is not taking any more independent wrestling bookings, and his last indie event was at last night's Big Time Wrestling event in Altoona, PA. Ellsworth cut an emotional promo at the show, which you can watch above, and confirmed his WWE status.

"It's fitting that I officially announce right here in Western Pennsylvania where this WWE journey started that I have officially been given a WWE contract," Ellsworth said (thanks to Wrestling Inc. reader Brad O'Hara for sending us the video).

Ellsworth then broke down and said, "you all made my dream come true, thank you very much!"

I laughed my ass right off when I saw his squash vs braun. Fucking killed me. But as soon as it ended i said to the wife (who was also laughing. But she doesn't like wrestling lol) I hope they bring him back again.
