After working through the injury at Hell in a Cell, Cody Rhodes is set to undergo surgery for his torn pectoral tendon.
F4WOnline has confirmed that Rhodes is scheduled to undergo surgery for the torn pec this Thursday (June 9). The date of the surgery was first reported by Fightful.
Rhodes suffered the injury while weight training in advance of his Hell in a Cell match against Seth Rollins. Rhodes still worked Sunday night's pay-per-view, defeating Rollins in the main event.
Rhodes wrestled despite having a huge bruise on his chest and arm from the injury:
The finish of the Hell in a Cell match saw Rhodes pin Rollins after giving him a sledgehammer shot. Rhodes hit two Cross Rhodes and then fought through the pain of his injury to hit Rollins with the sledgehammer.
Rhodes addressed the crowd in a brief promo after the PPV went off the air, saying that it was solely his decision to wrestle at Hell in a Cell.
Athletes who suffer torn pecs are expected to be out of action for several months after undergoing surgery.
