....but Bryan Danielson is boring as all hell. I'm sorry, I've been sitting here watching videos and matches of the guy TRYING really hard to like him and I'm sorry, but the guy is just all kinds of boring and fuckin generic. Sorry but I'm not understanding where this greatest wrestler in the world label is coming from.
I can't be the only person who feels this way... am I??

I like Danielson, but I know where you're coming from. When I first watched his matches I kinda just felt 'That's it?'. I do think he's very talented, just not as talented as he's hyped up to be.

That's what I'm saying. He's a talented guy, I'll admit that. I just don't think he's as impressive as everyone makes him out to be. Nothing in any of his matches really blew me away or made me say "WOW, THAT GUY IS THE BEST WRESTLER I HAVE EVER SEEN!" Quite the opposite, he's just....I dunno... average.
But just going by his kind of old school style and size I don't know how well he's going to fit in WWE. I mean he's around the same size as Punk, but nowhere near as flashy or as distinctive (appearance wise).

I suggest you watch some of his matches against Nigel McGuinness. If that can't convince you then nothing can.

Agreed.

I don't see what the hype is over him. When I 1st saw him he looked generic. He's alright, but not as great or "best wrestler" quality like many have said.

His like the clean cut wrestler.. No tatoos and no over the edge gimmick.. Just his techniques in the ring.. I used to feel the same way about Danielson too but after watching him throughout 2007, His proved me wrong about what I feel on his in-ring work.. I mean his "MMA" elbows look vicious.. He can finish the match by submission, pin or knock-out.. I like how his versatile in the ring.. I think BKB's right you should check out his matches with Nigel and maybe with Morishima as well..

Forgot about the matches with 'Shima, which are fucking brutal. AmDrag fractures his eye socket in one of their matches, so if you appreciate hard hitting matches then you'll like it. I think it's from Final Battle '07.

I'll check them out. I mean I have noticed some of his matches are stiff as hell, I've heard about the fractured eye socket thing and seen pictures. I understand why a lot of people like him, wrestling purists and all... like you said he's like the no gimmick straight up wrestler.
For me personally, he kind of bored me. I'm not saying I need a spot monkey or anything like that but he's just a little too bland for my taste. I appreciate the technical aspect of his style and everything but to me he's really nothing to get overly excited about. To me the "best wrestler in the world" sticker many slap him with is a vast exaggeration.

The purist wrestling thing may work for him in ROH but I don't see it translating well to a WWE ring. Guys like Batista, Cena and others are prime examples that in the WWE personality vastly outweighs your wrestling ability as for as success goes. Even guys like Angle who were known for their wrestling ability still had a gimmick to run off of, and I'm not sure what Danielson's will be.

I mean look at a guy like Bourne, roughly around the same size as Danielson (and IMO a hell of a lot more entertaining than him)...he's got the look and the flash and still can't get a decent push.

I respect everyone's opinion to love the guy, but for me personally, meh...not impressed..lol.

WWE barely allows people to lock in a fuckin headlock, never mind torquing someone's arm and fingers back.

I do agree about Danielson's in ring style, it can be boring, or it can be very good, depending if you like technical wrestling. Imo, he's up there with Bret Hart, Chris Beniot, Ric Flair, Kurt Angle as the more technical wrestlers. Danielson can do just about any and every move imaginable. But what he does can more of a mat wrestling style, which can be boring.

Like others have said, Check out his matches with Kenta, Nigel, Morishima. Pretty much all of his matches with those guys are 4 stars or better. Also recently his 2nd to last ROH match against Davey Richards was really good.

I guess Bryan Danielson is likely to come in with the "International Superstar" gimmick.

I'm just curious as to what his entrance feud will be. Miz is obviously tied up with MVP right now.

Wrestling needs more guys like Danielson. Im sure WWE will give him something extra to keep fans interested. It's what they're good for

They do, they're called generic jobbers.
