MMA's worst-kept secret is now out of the bag: former number-one heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko will fight current Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Dan Henderson July 30 in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Sherdog.com confirmed the news, though it notes that the bout has not been officially announced by the organization.

This might explain the buzz on Twitter that Scott Coker has been reinstated as Strikeforce CEO and will be making an announcement to the media sometime before UFC 130.

A report by SB Nation MMA's Jonathan Snowden, who first reported the bout was official, indicated that Emelianenko and Henderson would meet at a 220-lb. catchweight. A separate Sherdog article yesterday corroborated that information.

The fight will headline a July 30 show at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, which is roughly an hour northwest of downtown Chicago.

Emelianenko carries a two-fight losing streak, the first losses of his career since an infamous doctor's stoppage at a RINGS event in December of 2000.

Dan Henderson stopped Rafael Cavalcante in March to become Strikeforce's 205-lb. champion.
