This might explain the buzz on Twitter that Scott Coker has been reinstated as Strikeforce CEO and will be making an announcement to the media sometime before UFC 130.
A report by SB Nation MMA's Jonathan Snowden, who first reported the bout was official, indicated that Emelianenko and Henderson would meet at a 220-lb. catchweight. A separate Sherdog article yesterday corroborated that information.
The fight will headline a July 30 show at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, which is roughly an hour northwest of downtown Chicago.
Emelianenko carries a two-fight losing streak, the first losses of his career since an infamous doctor's stoppage at a RINGS event in December of 2000.
Dan Henderson stopped Rafael Cavalcante in March to become Strikeforce's 205-lb. champion.
