Was anyone else plesantly surprised by what happened on RAW this week with regards to Evan Bourne?

He was a prominent figure throughout the night first trying to beat Edge to win his spot in the fatal four way match at Fatal 4-Way PPV. Then for the mainevent he replaced Randy Orton, tagging with John Cena against Edge and Sheamus. To top it all off he got the winning pin after hitting his finisher on Sheamus.

What a way to give him a push up the card. It just shows how easily WWE can do it if they are behind someone and want to push them, it isn't hard for them to do it. Especially when the crowd are really behind someone like they are with Evan Bourne.

Hopefully this isn't a once of and he continues to be built on RAW and gets a sustained push. He is a huge fan favourite and could be a very popular champion in WWE in the future. I hope that WWE get him on some PPV cards and keep focussing on him on RAW since it is great to see some fresh faces as major players on that brand.

What do you think about Bourne?

-- Evan Bourne is reportedly in line for a 'serious' push. The company's mentality is that the best people entering the wrestling industry are generally of the smaller variety and they have to establish that small-sized wrestlers can headline or else face major depth issues in the future.

It keeps sounding better and better for Evan Bourne. WWE seem to finally be getting it and understanding that not all of their maineventers need to be huge giants. Granted they have had a few smaller guys like Michaels and Mysterio win the big thing but overall they haven't pushed the smaller wrestlers as much as they should have.

They will have depth issues in the future with a lot of big names nearing retirement and smaller guys like Bourne, Danielson and Kaval can help fill that gap.

I wonder how big serious means. Will he get a title shot on PPV or will they even go one step further and give him the title?

Will the human ball of Flubber get to the top? I think he's in line for a feud with (possibly) Edge before launching to the big time with the biggest win of his career.

Edge would be a good starting mainevent feud for him to get into since he is essentially filling Orton's spot currently. If Orton is still injured come Fatal 4-Way then Bourne will certainly come in for him which would be massive.
