I thought he would be there to eat the pin from edge, but we end up with Roman on top. Nice mix up, I didn’t mind the ending. I think it’s setting up edge bs Bryan more and edge may still try to beat Roman at backlash or whatever.

I think Edge v. Roman should've been the main event. Even if you want Reigns to go over, you can still book a good 'fighting veteran' type of match similar to Flair against HBK at 24.
As much as I didn’t really mind the triple threat, I agree this would’ve been better with just edge vs Roman.
They abandoned the Edge winning back a world title 10 years after having to retire narrative in favour of a triple threat for some reason. Poor decision. Still a very good match. Roman vs Edge and Roman vs Bryan are both singles matches that are strong enough to main event. Feel like Paul Heyman got his grubby fingers in this.

Everyone was anticipating one on one, Spear vs Spear, Roman vs Edge
But WWE screwed it by adding Bryan to the mix.
Why add him? This match would have been better without him.

I think they wanted to give Bryan a reason to resign and feel important. He is important, but yeah, he didn’t need to main event this year. They did the feud well I think, but edge vs Roman made more sense this year.
