This was no mean feat – but with Arnold Schwarzenegger cheering him on – strongman Eddie Hall set a new world record by lifting a whopping 462kg (72.7 stones).
Eddie ‘the Beast’, from Stoke-on-Trent attempted the herculean lift at the Arnold Classic event in Australia, and the Englishman seemed to have been spurred on by the help The Terminator, Down Under.
After spending a few seconds psyching himself up, the 27-year-old produced an outstanding display of strength to hoist over 1,000lbs up to break the record and earn a much-deserved high-five from Schwarzenegger.
The strongman said: ‘I had Arnold Schwarzenegger cheering me and he gave me a high five to congratulate me after the event – even though I left him hanging at first, oops!’
Hollywood A-Lister Schwarzenegger, who was a former bodybuilder before shooting to fame in the 1980s, was hugely impressed with Eddie’s gargantuan accomplishment.
Arnie said: ‘I used to powerlfit and my record was 710lbs (332kg), so I know how much this is. I can’t even believe humanly possible.
‘I am so lucky and so fortunate that the record was [set] right here.’
And if you’re wondering how much 72 stone is…
