I hate those type of fans, who think they're better than the generations of wrestling before or after them. Some look at the WWE now and say "Roman Reigns and John Cena suck" "Batista Brock Lesnar (in 2002 - 04) younger Randy Orton or The Rock and Stone Cold were so much better" when you yourselves saw them in the past when you were kids, teenagers or young adults. Today's audience don't know of the people who were there before them, except for John Cena and Randy Orton but that's because they never stopped wrestling all of those years. They're the oldest male wrestlers there in the WWE as of right now (except Lesnar who left the WWE for 8 years after 2004 and came back in 2012). His second run is longer but that's because he doesn't wrestle as much as he used to. Even the people who didn't watch wrestling until The Attitude Era get ridiculed because they missed the Hulk Hogan Era, as if any of these people can control how old they are, do these people forget that your parents were the ones who gave birth to you ? You can't pick the year you were born in, that's already done.

There is ageism both ways in wrestling. I am against all forms of it.

Every wrestling fan no matter their age is free to support & follow whoever they want.

That's what makes the wrestling community so interesting.

Everyone has their own favorites & opinions & it can be very interesting to have
a discussion about that.

Example: I don't "get" Adam Cole. I really don't. I'm not sure if I ever will get it
because frankly a wrestler needs to be more than a catchphrase to me.

Now I understand he's incredibly popular with a lot of people...but personally
I'm trying to see exactly why that is.

Speaking of the younger fans I did read an interesting article that was published
after the Payback event last year that seemed to imply it was wrong for the crowd
to cheer Strowman as he was decimating Reigns...mainly because there were some
young kids in the front row looking terrified as their favorite performer was being crushed
with a set of steel steps as most of the adults in the arena were cheering:

"Thank you Strowman"

I don't agree with that because if you paid for your ticket you're free to cheer &
boo whoever you want.

The Roman rage has gone too far

I found that article by the way...

I'm kind of outside the loop for this one seeing as I'm a lone fan in a country
far away with no other fans around.

If I did know any younger fans I would "pick on them" if they liked Reigns or
Cena...I mean I do get why they appeal to younger fans...its just doesn't
appeal to me.

I think I'd try & convince younger fans to watch wrestlers like Pete Dunne,
Tyler Bate, Aleister Black, Johnny Gargano & the more "technical" type
of wrestlers...but that's because that's my favorite type of wrestling.

Well that & when attractive women doing the same thing...Yes...I know I'm
lame & I apologize for my lameness.

Wait...did I go off topic?

Rationale of writer: Feel sorry for a kid taken to a sport that sometimes simulates extreme violence and then get angry at the crowd for cheering it. If anything, if the kids were upset, then the article should have criticized the parents of those children for bringing them to a professional wrestling event to begin with. Only someone who has head their head up their ass for a long time wouldn't think that things like this would happen at a show.

A person who pays for a show can cheer whatever they want and they shouldn't have to temper their opinion to babysit kids they don't even know.

Idiotic.

People are getting upset because fans are chanting "You Deserve It!" at a FAKE/SCRIPTED event and are worried about the kids?
Why is it that everyone and someone else's mom are worried about kids that aren't even their own?

Furthermore, when a child is a child, anything wrong they do (in almost all cases) can be directed back at the parent/parents for lack of parenting. Children with anger issues or history of acting out shouldn't be watching wrestling to begin with. Any parent with half a brain would understand why. Everyone just wants to blame someone or something else for their shortcomings.

I appreciate young wrestling fans. They watch wrestling the right way. With pure ignorance and bliss.

Kids being legit upset because their favourite wrestler loses. I wish I was still like that. Now I'm an adult I rarely give a fuck about who wins or loses.

Being upset that you're favourite babyface lost. That's what its all about dude. Just like Christmas, wrestling is at its best when you are a kid.
