Dave Meltzer said:
“The idea for women and guys is different. For guys, they’re wanting bigger athletes. For women, it’s looks, or if you have something unique to offer. Even on the indie thing, if someone’s like, really super on the indies, it’s not like WWE won’t hire them, but they’re not looking at the 5’9” guys or the 5’7” guys anymore. But if you come from the Indies but you’re 6’3”, yeah, they’ll look at you, and if you’re a woman and you’re ‘good looking’, you know, whatever."

Good, go with what was actually successful.

None of these supposed "talented" signings since the "revolution" have done anything of merit nor have they moved the needle.

Given more than enough time and have main evented shows and have done nothing but lose viewer and post the worse quarterly ratings of every show.

Need more Mandy's and less Doudrops

Another overreaction, just like the whole report about them not recruiting anyone from the Indies.

I mean…wrestling goes in cycles so what’s old is new again. So if it is true, I wouldn’t be surprised.

This doesn't surprise me though. You need stars so get some stars. I just hope these "6'3 guys and pretty women" can wrestle.

they're given the time....so it is their fault.

blaming creative is a lazy crutch....so 2005.

I mean the matches were better than anything I've ever seen bar a few exceptions. 90% of the time an NXT star comes to the main roster, WWE changes their gimmick and makes them shit so what do you expect

NXT was the critical acclaim brand. You're not gonna get more people to tune in to NXT than Raw and Smackdown just cause you have better storylines. I agree with you that NXT was for marks and not the casual viewer but getting bigger guys to be the stars is not gonna change that. You cant say that the little guys didnt work on Raw and SD cause they never actually got a chance.

The first thing I’ll say is this seems obvious since we already knew they weren’t hiring talent from the indies. Clearly they weren’t going to be hiring athletes with the same muscle and size criteria as the men. That being said, the woman hired for their looks so far as part of the NIL are still college athletes. So they should have the same chance of being good as the men.

I also don’t even think this is all that different from before because maybe my definition of beauty is different, but I don’t think they ever really hired anyone that wasn’t attractive. Sure, they were hiring talented performers, but how many of them would you say were ugly? The only ones that come to mind being legacy kids and they’re still going to be hired even after this.
