Soooooo lets talk about Romans cancer. First off, I know cancer is serious. I've had family members battle with it, some were luckier than others. But in Romans case, do you think WWE overplayed the situation to their benefit?

Ok so im obviously not a doctor. Now, I believe that Roman did have leukemia. Question is though, how severe was it? Obviously it wasn't a death sentence. He in back in action now. It seems that he did not lose any muscle. No hair loss either so I dont think he had to do the whole radiation thing.

Is there some sort of chemotherapy drugs you can take at an early stage of leukemia that will send you into remission? I think the initial reaction that everybody had was that Roman was gonna go through a serious battle and look a certain way from being sick.

Some people think the whole entire thing could be a work. It would be a god damn brilliant move if it was all a work and they got away with it. Roman is more over now than hes ever been. Thats Vinces guy, he has been since day 1 and now hes finally over.

If he is totally cured or not that's altogether a different story. What he meant is Remission which mean currently Quarantined which means no more traces.
It was same almost 10 yrs ago as well.
If you are dedicated and get the right treatment and more to that your bodys response then why wait for years?? It can very well be fought in months.
Some things are never meant to be declared like severity etc. and that needs to be respected.
If you hear his speech he said it was indeed a miracle.
And boy miracles can happen overnight if you got trust in your destiny and God. Not to forget the prayers which came from across the globe.

WWE may be wasnt aware about the intensity initially but later on yes when he was in rehab fighting day and night but then its all business so WWE wanted to keep this as a miraculous surprise and may be for this day.

I know people get very upset with this subject and don't want to even dare to think that this could be a possibility, I can understand why. However I do think it's an angle, he may really have been sick or he may not, I don't know I have no proof of that, like you said I'm not a doctor. But I know that promoters have been using really disgusting tactics for their storylines since forever, way before Vince even started to run the WWF. The thing that makes me very skeptical is, what are the odds of him getting hit by leukemia again after all these years, just a few months before Wrestlemania, then comes back and he's in remission just in time for the event? I mean it could very well be true, but it's a bit too coincidental for me. They are obviously going to be taking advantage of this situation, they already did last night. But in the end I shouldn't care if it's real or not, more power to them and just go on with the show.

I don't know for leukemia but a family member who has cancer right now and it was diagnosed at an early stage and he has to take a medication, but it has been for over a year now and still don't know if he's in remission. It's not leukemia tho so it's probably not comparable.

A very good wrestler beats cancer and what do we get? A bunch of smarks claiming conspiracy because Reigns was the sort of guy who was better than them in high school and was better suited for the job than their beloved Bryan.

Pathetic.

I can say that I was not expecting him to be all sickly and looking bad last night. For one, I don't think they would have had Roman announce that he had battle with Leukemia live on TV if it was very severe. WWE would (at least I hope) just post it on their site and social media platforms rather than have him tell a live crowd and millions of viewers.

And for two, I think WWE would be smart enough not to bring out an ill looking superstar especially a top guy and so close to Wrestlemania. To me, it would be a downer to building excitement so that's just how I was thinking.

Like a few of you said, WWE just used the fact that it was not a severe diagnosis whether for a "selfish" storyline/flipping the fans or they felt people needed to know. I'm just glad the man is okay as he has battled with this for 11 years.

Undoubtedly Roman is over. They wanted him to be over. So for the intention of getting him over as a baby face, cancer was a blessing in disguise. Weird way of looking at it.

I'm not even entertaining the idea. You can't be deceitful when it comes to a real life person having a real life illness. WWE is all about p/r, feminism and shit.

I don't even think they played it up that much. Yea they let him talk about it on Raw, but he's their top guy (and champion at the time) so it only made sense for him to be able to tell people himself. On top of that, something like leukemia can be quite unpredictable. If there's one thing Scrubs taught me (lol), it's that leukemia can be really aggressive even if it doesn't seem like it at first. Despite that, on commentary or anywhere else they never considered it to be a potential "career ender", but rather told people that it's something he's definitely gonna get through, so they weren't that dramatic about it.

Also, can we stop speculating on this being a work? That's ridiculous. Do you honestly think that Reigns' family or Reigns himself would agree to any of this? As crazy as Vince can be, I doubt he'd ever pitch something like that. And even if it was a work, the timing would be totally off. If Vince planned this all along, he would have let him make the announcement before he won the Universal title and then bring him back in time for the Rumble

Yeah it is an absolutely ridiculous statement to even suggest.

Roman Reigns is my favourite wrestler in wwe rn. Such a great guy. Is he cleared to wrestle at Mania?

While I can understand (to an extent, that is) the thinking behind this Roman Reigns situation being a work and WWE’s “dark” plan of finally achieving their ultimate goal of getting the guy over with the fans, I just find it impossible to comprehend, let alone believe it.

There’s no denial that WWE (or WWF back in the day) have done some stupid shit in order to progress a story line or to shoot an angle that would have everybody talking. For fuck’s sake, even Vince himself faked his own death before the angle was forcefully dropped due the Chris Benoit tragic story that broke the very next day. So, yeah, it’s not like one could put it past WWE to test them boundaries however I feel that would have applied back then. Nowadays, in a day and age of people getting so easily offended about even the slightest thing, being the PG ERA and all that nonsense, I just find it highly unlikely that WWE would even consider going this far for the sake of an angle.

This wasn’t/isn't a matter of a fucking bad flu people. As we all know, leukemia is a very serious disease, a form of cancer that could ultimately lead to death so making a stupid story line out of it would be simply unacceptable. You simply don’t fuck around with such a thing. This ain’t a fucking joke…

Christ, why would Joe even agree to such a thing in the first place, let alone put his family through it? Did anyone pay attention last night? Were all these emotions fake? Let's not forget Roman was never the best promo to begin with and it would take some serious acting to pull such a thinf off...

You know, I had heard about these “conspiracy theories” before, even through some podcasts around the web and for what? A couple of hundred more views and/or clicks? Go get a life….

Could I eventually be the naïve one? So be it but at the end of the day, I simply refuse to believe this nonsense…

nobody ridiculed you. We posted our opinions, just like you did. Just because we disagreed with you, doesn't mean we "put you down"

I knew I shouldn't have given my thought on this situation... Also never have I claimed it was the case that the cancer is fake, I'm just very skeptical and that's enough to trigger a bunch of people it seems. I'm done with this subject...
