Curtis Axel Appreciation Thread

So I'm a huge Curtis Axel mark. Guy has a great look, can cut a decent promo, is a good wrestler. I'm absolutely mad they suddenly started burying the guy ffs. He beat Triple H in his first match!!! I get it was by knockout but that should have been the beginning of a good push for him. He won the Intercontinental Championship and helped try to make it relevant again. He even was put into a feud with CM Punk (that he should have won at least one match). Instead, they had him job to Big E Langston and dropped back into obscurity. It sucked, it really did. The B-Team was great and all, but I felt Axel should have been given more substantial things to do. He was the son of Mr. Perfect after all. He doesn't have many bad matches and is a solid hand. He could have been a midcard stalwart IC Champion instead of Miz. Can you tell I'm a bit bias towards the guy?

Anyways, are there any other fans of Curtis Axel and think he should have been allowed to do more? Go fan threads, FTW.

I was a decent fan of him towards the end of his McGillicutty run, especially the feud with Tyson Kidd. I thought the Axel run had potential at first but it just fell flat and I'm not surprised he ended up just doing comedy, at least he's solid at that

Ehh, the guy is truly the definition of average. His only redeemable quality is that Brock and The Rock I think it were, trained with him to get back into ring shape.

When people talk about getting by on their family name, this guy is right up there with them.

Nah, the guy could actually wrestle really well. He is very good at selling and he has a lot of charisma that's never given a chance to show.

Which is a real shame, because he actually got much better as the years went on.
