I have an undecided opinion on the matter.

Problem was either Monday Night Raw great, and SM! was terribad. Or the other way around. While we were superb matches on SD!, HHH was having his reign of terror up was until 2005. Raw became bettter than SM! once Batista won the belt at WMXXI. And then became absolute crap again when Cena joiined the Raw Roster.

The Ruthless agression certainly was bizarre...

I mostly agree that it was a good idea but one brand was good and the other was terrible most of the time but I don't fully agree with your timeline. Raw was trash '02 and '03 but '04 Raw was fucking awesome and I think it actually got worse around when Batista won the belt and way worse when he went to SD bc 06 Raw is some of the worst shit every. Smackdown on the other hand was fire in 02, still pretty good in 03 but 04 and 05 was the absolute worst.

Great idea. JBL held the WWE Championship for almost a year. What more could you ask for?

The gimmick was great but his PPV matches were so trash :TI:

SmackDown and RAW in 2002 were somewhat fun to watch around the general time frame but 2003 was awful for RAW and superb for SmackDown.

2004 for both brands outside of March-May was genuinely terrible, even for me loving Benoit and Guerrero's title reigns.

2005 was bad for Smackdown and only marginally better for RAW.

The biggest problem was the lack of work rate balance and equal booking. You shift some of the work-rate guys like Benoit, Edge, and Mysterio over to RAW and move Jericho, Christian, and RVD over to SmackDown in 2003 and I think things could have evened out more.

Also don't have Triple H's reign of terror be the way it was. Make it a Flair situation where he's constantly dropping the belt to Shawn, Kane, Booker T, and Goldberg, instead just Shawn and Goldberg.
