Interesting match. You have three films with simple premises (like most great horror), but all stand out as classics because of their style, characters and casting.

As a horror movie Halloween is one of the most perfect of all time. It changed the game for the slasher movie. Plus the music is some of the best of all time. I vote Halloween.

Voting for The Thing, though the feel of claustrophobia and dread is present throughout all 3 of these movies, I just think the sheer concept of the Thing is the most interesting of the three.

I can't believe Alien won. TBH, I wouldn't even call it a horror movie. Is it? I have never seen it listed at such, just a sci fi movie. Regardless, don't think the right movie won here. I enjoy Alien, first saw it when I was really young, so, it's not that it's a bad movie, I just wouldn't throw it in the horror section and say it's better than the other two.
