Cabin in The Woods may as well be a Scary Movie like parody.....

Cabin in the Woods suffers from both being overrated by people that like it and underrated by people that didn't get it, it falls kind of in the middle to me. It was a lot of fun but it wouldn't have been near my top 20. Freaks on the other hand, definitely made my list so it gets my vote. I wonder how fucked up the original 90 minute version was too, sad that it's probably lost forever

Plus "one of us" still gets quoted fairly often even if most people don't know where it's from and probably think whatever sitcom they saw parody it actually made it up

It's just incredible.

Tod Browning treated his actors with respect too and forced the studios to allow them to eat alongside other actors in the mess.

Scientist being bummed out they didn't pick the merman, may as well just had a giant neon sign that said "death by merman"......a merman, for a scene that was all about a cabin.....not near water.....and giant angry God's? Fuck outta here.

Its a comedy horror movie that is suppose to be cliche.

I loved the film I love the story.

As a big Whedon fan I think Cabin in the Woods is a good example of his subversive approach to characters and genre. Its a really entertaining and smart movie, with cool effects.
