In an interview on today's MMA Hour, Becky Lynch addressed Ric Flair's social media comments regarding her match with Charlotte Flair at this Sunday's Survivor Series and said that she finds them "sad."
In response to a Lynch promo on Monday's Raw to hype the Charlotte match, Ric tweeted:
"I Think I’m Going To Have To Make The Trip Personally To See You Beat The Piss Out Of @MsCharlotteWWE! I Don’t Think So Sister, The Man, Big Time Becks, Or Whatever You Call Yourself. There’s Not Enough Choreography In The Business To Save You @BeckyLynchWWE"
On the MMA Hour, Lynch stated that she had seen Ric's tweet, and originally planned to respond before thinking better of it.
"I saw that tweet... And I looked at it and I wrote out a response that would have really been quite biting, and I deleted it and I let it go, because I think it's really sad," said Lynch.
"This is a legend at one point, a 16-time world champion. And now, Ric Flair is jealous of me? And that's cool. It's cool for me," Lynch said.
"And he's now trying to use me to get clout to promote whatever he has going on next, because he's dug himself into a hole with other things."
"So I was just kinda like, let me let him at it, because it's kinda sad," said Lynch.
Flair responded with a screenshot of an article quoting Lynch's comments, plus a screenshot of an article reporting Flair's sale of "The Man" trademark to WWE.
Flair posted:
So Disappointed! I Did This Out Of Respect For You @BeckyLynchWWE! It Made You Millions & Made Me Nothing. After 40 Years Of Being The Man... The Company Doesn’t Own It, And Neither Do You! I’ll Always Be The Man! Ask Your Husband."
Lynch's MMA Hour interview can be seen below. Lynch faces Charlotte at WWE Survivor Series on Sunday, November 21 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The show will air on Peacock, WWE Network and pay-per-view.
