Anthony Johnson has been put on the sidelines by the UFC.

"We are aware of the situation involving Anthony Johnson. As a result, we are suspending him indefinitely. We are using a third-party law firm to conduct a formal investigation and once we have more information, we’ll determine whether further course of action is necessary," the UFC said in a statement.

The statement comes shortly after Bloody Elbow released a report about Johnson's past with domestic violence. He allegedly struck a woman in 2012, and knocked out two of her teeth, but the woman declined to press charges.

He was also faced multiple charges in 2009, according to the report, including domestic violence. He pleaded "nolo contendere" in 2010 to a misdemeanor of domestic violence and was sentenced to three years probation.

Following the news, Johnson posted this statement on his Facebook page:

The sh*t ppl will say and the lengths ppl will go just to tell a F*cking lie is ridiculous. That's all I'm going to say and thank you all for the support and positive feedback that I'm getting.

Johnson has won eight straight fights, including two straight since his return to the UFC. He had been trying to get a No. 1 contender fight arranged with Alexander Gustafsson in the light heavyweight division.
Hopefully the situation gets resolved and he gets to come back (providing he's innocent) because the guy has looked like an absolute beast since coming back to the UFC.

Terrible attempt at trying to get one over on the NFL.

Guys private lives shouldn't affect their professional ones anyway, unless it's murder or rape and shit like that.
