Alberto Del Rio released

BY WWE.COM STAFF
August 07, 2014

WWE announced the release of Alberto Del Rio due to unprofessional conduct and an altercation with an employee.

He's pissed that Ricardo was let go!

Seriously though, interested to hear more on this.

Popular rumor is The Miz , but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Good wrestler, but never excited me, so meh.

I care more about what he did than him being fired.

Probably got mad at Triple H telling him he can get the Network for $9.99 so he knocked Triple H out.

- F4Wonline.com backs up the earlier report that the story going around is Alberto Del Rio slapped a WWE.com reporter at this week's TV tapings. We noted earlier it may have been a social media worker.

They noted there are a variety of different stories going around about what led to this incident.

Hmmmmm

Damn, well tbh, I won't miss him. He was probably holding the WWE back anyway. Best wishes' to him though.

He was quite stale but you cannot deny that he was one of the best in ring workers WWE had, I think he may retire now.

LOL, love the ADR hate that pops up immediately from some people. If you don't think he was a damn good wrestler then you shouldn't be watching wrestling, it's really just that simple. The dude was bang on consistent in-ring and while I agree that his direction in recent months sucked, he was still putting on great matches against everybody. Sorry to see him go but if it means Kalisto gets called up sooner then I'm all for it.

I just watched him wrestle Ziggler at a house show on Sunday. Never really cared for him all that much but it was the best match of the night.

WWE Tweeted about the situation.

@VivaDelRio is responsible for his own actions. If you’re angry at anyone, be angry at Alberto. There’s no excuse for a pro athlete not to conduct themselves in a professional manner.
This seems a little odd and quite unprofessional.

Yeah, for some reason I'm starting to think this may be a work.

His matches was good yeah, but I honestly didn't care for him all that much. I won't miss him, but I'm sure they will have people come up who can put on just as good if not better matches so it's still all win to me.

Now as far as it being a work I don't know, I've read a few reports about how a racist comment might have been made about Del Rio. I have to find it again, I read it early on my phone but if that's true, but also someone posted on reddet that it wasn't true and that Del Rio was making that up  so I don't know.

If it is a work, it's actually kind of brilliant. Gets people actually talking about and caring about Del Rio which he never seemed able to do on his own. :p
