Bnei Yehuda midfielder Rafi Dahan was only three weeks away from his wedding day when he suffered the misfortune of being put in hospital by an absolutely disgusting tackle in an Israeli league game.
Bnei Yehuda drew 2-2 with Maccabi Haifa in the Israeli Premier League on Sunday, but the result was overshadowed by a savage two-footed tackle in the 84th minute.
Maccabi's Ruben Rayos - a 27-year-old Spaniard who was once on Barcelona's books - scythed into Dahan and smashed his leg in an incident that will surely make you feel squeamish if you watch the video.
Rayos was given a straight red card, but that is no consolation for Dahan, who is thought to have suffered a fracture that will keep him out of the game for an extended period.
Even worse, Dahan was due to be married in three weeks' time - but he has had to put a halt to proceedings while he recovers. He told the press:
"Rayos tried to end my career. I cannot ever forgive him. It was a crime."
