The new Heavyweight title is god awful.

New Japan Pro-Wrestling General Discussion Thread

WWE had two shows and two brands for the better part of the last 12 years. It's hard to argue that having 1 title for 2 brands with 40 different roster members/show proves anything, the argument could be made in kayfabe that a champion frequenting one show devalues their status as the best. It's...

Shingo v Tanahashi was good! Really great!

Yeah, I was really excited for the NXT Japan project. I think I read a report that said that the pandemic put a clamp on the project. I sincerely hope they go back for it, when everything opens up.

Yeah, that's probably never going to happen ever again. Only possible way it might happen is during the HHH reign, but WWE wants to thoroughly distance itself from any other promotion.

Well Omega is staying. Was a good rumor mill while it lasted.

I'd much rather have Shibata win than Taguchi.

I would rather not have yet another rehash next year. That would be 4 WK's with 2 unique MEs.

I watch New Japan's biggest shows, but I'd love to follow it more often this year. I watch much more Dragon Gate. Watch most Infinity episodes and watch all PPVs. I enjoy their great tag team matches and completely home-grown talent that is better than most seasoned rosters.

Let's use this thread to talk about NJPW (Not sure if there's already one).

Is King of Pro-Wrestling worth watching? Haven't been keeping up with NJPW, or much of any puro wrestling for a few months.

I love that NJPW made NOAH's undercard look stronger in 1 month than NOAH has in the last 3 years.

I think that's underrating it. The match had great action, an intense crowd and was one of the very few matches where I was duped into thinking a near fall was really it. This might be the first match since Undertaker v. Lesnar that really did have me on the edge of my seat. However, I could...

I can't handle anymore wrestling, let alone six, 8-man tags. Leggo Omega (then lose it to Shibata)!!!

This G1 really reminds me of the 1995 King of the Ring. That tournament had the likes of Jeff Jarrett, Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Lex Luger, Yokozuna, Razor Ramon and King Kong Bundy yet we have Savio Vega and Mabel in the finals. I'm very much, disappointed with the turn out, this year. I...
