Why it matters is he is literally speaking in a cinematic language that is basically dead in the mainstream circa 1999. And they let this guy make three blockbusters in this vein with an unlimited budget.

to me the prequels do what Lucas set out to achieve, a throwback to the transition from silent to talkies where dialogue was secondary and the camera tells the story
