    What I will give FC2 is that there was a nice system of missions where you would get the mission from one of the two main factions in the game but then a mercenary "buddy" of yours would give you an alternative slightly harder mission to do with them which could overrule the basic one.

    Other fun mechanics from FC2 include weapon degradation and roaming militia soldiers in jeeps who will try to fuck you up if you drive on the roads for more than 2 minutes.

    Far Cry 3 is sweet. I quite liked 2 but I'll concede it had some really dumb mechanics (in the story you get malaria and a few times during the game you'll just randomly need to pop a pill while you're in the middle of doing something else. Often involves crashing the car you were just driving...
