Scott has gone on the record and said he didn't fall off the wagon until that weekend when the finish for him to go over Austin was changed at the last minute and they decided to turn Hogan.

If he's talking about Rock, that wasn't unthinkable. Rock was gone most of 2001 to film a movie. Vince knew Rocky was gonna go Hollywood.

You're missing the point. Rock leaving was set in stone back in 2001. They knew to prepare for that. They ha no idea they were losing Austin.

He was already an alcoholic. You're just not getting it. He didn't want to go to WWE in the first place, but promises were made and when he gets to WWE and sees that WWE plans to bury the nWo, he got disillusioned with it and he let his demons win. The point is, WWE decided that weekend they weren't gonna run with the nWo like they should have and that was dumb.
