"David Ferrier, best known as Jimmy Del Rey of the Heavenly Bodies tag team which headlined for Smoky Mountain Wrestling from 1993 to 1995, and later had a run in WWF, passed away in an auto accident last night.

If you can find it somewhere I suggest looking for the Dark Match between The Heavenly Bodies & The Bushwhackers at Wrestlemania X as well as the Survivor Series '94 match between The Million Dollar Team and Guts and Glory, that's mostly where the team including JDR had their finer moments.. although those are just the matches I remember myself there very well could be other good ones out there.. They were probably more well known for their time headlining the Smoky Mountain Wrestling fed.

Wow, that's a long time going back. I don't think I could be bothered doing that.

Sorry, bruh.

He was a part of the Heavenly Bodies with Tom Pritchard. They had Jim Cornette as a manager in WWF. Pretty legendary tag team.

The Heavenly Bodies were pretty prominent in the Jim Cornette promoted Smokey Mountain Wrestling. They were a decent team. I think it wad originally Tom Prichard and Stan Lane, with Del Ray replacing lane. Their highest profile match was against the Steiner Brothers at Summerslam 1993 for the WWF tag titles.

My favorite moment involving them was in the 1995 Royal Rumble match. Jimmy Del Ray comes in and Lawler says "I like this guy." So Vince asks Lawler if Del Ray will win the Royal Rumble, to which Lawler replies "I don't like him that much."

Later in the match, his partner Dr. Tom Prichard comes in and Lawler remarks something like, "I like this guy too." When Vince asks him is he'll win the Royal Rumble, Lawler responds "I don't like him that much either."

I dunno, it probably seems terrible to everyone else, but it amused me. God I feel old :)
