The following is an excerpt from a new interview with TNA Wrestling star Brian Kendrick:

"If this show draws noticeably better than other pay-per-views, it will be hard to dismiss those numbers. Not to say they won't be dismissed, but it will be nice, solid evidence that people do care about the X division. They want exciting wrestling and fresh faces."

"The downside is I'm in an X division title match on an X division pay-per-view but the focus the last few weeks is still on the heavyweight division."

"We've got a shot at the X Division breaking through. To be honest, it's not a full-fledged shot. But it is a shot."

Do you think if the PPV gets good numbers it will force management to re-think their stance right now with programming?

I would think a good buy rate would amp up the X-Division in TNA for a couple months. Then it will be all about the stars again. Money talks.

Money doesn't talk in TNA. Classic example are the Knockouts, still their big ratings grabber and still made to look like a joke. Watered down since it's inception.

Nobody cares about people who can do flips and have no personality.

If the buyrate is high then they will push them for a few months and then forget about them again. Kendrick says it himself in the interview where he says there is an X-Division PPV coming up but the focus is on the heavyweights who won't even be on the card.

Kendrick may have a point, but again why do these guys think it helps to have a go at the booking team in public, surely going to them in private and stating the case would be much better. I doubt a better rating for this ppv would make that much of a difference to their thinking, they are set on their course, have their own way of doing things, and it is going to take much more than this to change it.

I'll watch Destination X tomorrow and I really hope the X-Division can be picked up once again. It was the sole reason I'd watch TNA.

Because of the time difference the show is on a Monday Australian time.

From all reports the PPV went well and TNA are now starting to hire more X-Division wrestlers so it does indeed look like the X-Division will play a bigger role in the future of Impact.
