WWF Smackdown 01/03/2002
Washington, D.C.

WWF Undisputed Champion: Chris Jericho
WWF Intercontinental Champion: Edge
WWF Tag Team Champions: The Dudley Boyz
WWF European Champion: Christian
WWF Hardcore Champion: The Undertaker
WWF Cruiserweight Champion: Tajiri
WWF Women's Champion: Trish Stratus

WWF Tag Team Championship: Spike Dudley & Tazz vs. The Dudley Boyz (w/ Stay Keibler)
This match came about when last week on SD Spike pinned Bubba in a non-title match. This was fun due to the Dudley's throwing spike around like a toy; best part of the match was Spike ripping Stacy’s skirt down. I wish it would have gotten more than 4 minutes though. *3/4

sd1a.gif

Backstage Lillian interviews Jazz who says she’s not here to talk and she’s not like some of these bleach blonde sluts who sleep their way to the top she's here to fight.

CO-Owner of the WWF Vince McMahon comes down to the ring and he says his primary resolution in the new year is to annihilate and embarrass Ric Flair at the Royal Rumble. He shows off the TIME Man of the Year cover that went to Rudy Guliani in 2001. The crowd keeps chanting WHAT at him, and he threatens them. They keep it up, so he shuts down the show and turns the lights out one-by-one until the arena is black. When the lights come back on, of course Steve Austin is there. He promises to beat up Vince to start the year, but of course Booker T & Bossman run in and beat up Austin for 3/4 minutes. This included Bossman hitting Austin in the head with a mic.

sd1b.gif

Jazz vs. Mighty Molly
2 Minute Jazz squash, not much to talk about.

Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley who is still BANNED from all WWF show tries to get in but security doesn't have her on the list and they won't let her in. She threatens that with Triple H coming back in 4 days, she'll be in power again soon.

Jericho gives Test, Christian, and Lance Storm late Christmas presents. Christian asks if this has to do with Triple H coming back, and Jericho laughs him off. Elsewhere The Undertaker cuts a promo about how he's going to teach The Big Show about respect tonight. Then we go to Test who sees Torrie walking by and pretends he got her a present, and hands her Jericho's present. She opens it and it's a Jericho t-shirt, lol. He hits on her, and drops the line “Once you've gone Test, forget the restâ€￾ she says she's taken, and says he wants Tajiri is match tonight.

WWF Hardcore Championship: The Undertaker vs. The Big Show
Solid slugfest hardcore match, nothing memorable happens. The finish happen when Show clotheslines Taker and goes for his own Last Ride, but Taker hits him with a low blow and takes advantage of the knee injury by using a dragon sleeper for the win. *1/2

In the back, Stephanie whiles an old man called James Dudley to the door and the security guard lets him and But not Stephanie so she decides to flirt with the security guard to get in, and he says he's gay. Billy and Chuck come in and high five and hug the guard and walk to their room, and the guard tell Stephanie that Billy & Chuck should do a calendar. :lmao

Rob Van Dam & Edge vs. Chris Jericho & Kurt Angle
For 6 minutes this was pretty great, but looking at the talent involved I'm not shocked. The finish fuckin' ruled as Edge has Angle in the ankle lock but Jericho hits him with bulldog, Lionsult misses and Edge spears Jericho for two, cause Angle makes the save. RVD comes flying out of nowhere with a missile dropkick for Angle, but he then misses the split-leg moonsault. Edge Impales Jericho, but Angle sneaks in with the Angle Slam and Jericho rolls over for the pin. **3/4

sd1c.gif

Flair arrives and Arn tells him what happened to Austin, and Flair says he's going to the ring.

Ric Flair comes out to the ring and gets on the mic. He talks about the Rumble and says he's going to gouge Vince's eyes, kick him in the balls, and make him bleed. Stephanie McMahon tries to hop the railing, but is held back by security. Flair says to let her in, and she gets in. She says she's always been a Flair fan, and says an s a kid, she used to love watching him. She says Ric needs hero help with business, because he's not just a great businessman. Flair starts being Flair and losses his SHIT! so she slaps him. Well of COURSE Stephanie can resist the Nature Boy. She gives Flair one last chance to give in before Monday before Triple H comes back.

sd1d.gif

Test vs. Tajiri (w/ Torrie Wilson)
Sloppy squash for Test, but Tajiri's bumping and kicks ruled so all is forgiven. 1/2*

Elsewhere, Bossman & Vince confer, and are joined by Booker. Booker wants to establish his own catchphrase, “who?â€￾, and thinks that the t-shirts will sell like hotcakes. :lmao

This just happen.

#1 Contender's Match for the WWF Undisputed Championship: The Rock vs. Booker T
This was a total interference clusterfuck. Booker looked like the biggest Jobber. So like 2 minutes into the match Vince joins us, however, and nails Rock from behind before tossing in. Which allow Booker to Axe kick, Rock comes back with a DDT for two. Flair comes out and starts beating up Vince. One minute later Rock goes for the People’s Elbow but Bossman, is on the apron so Rock punches him, Rock turns around and hits the Rock Bottom for the 3 count. Post-Match: Bossman and Booker beat down Rock, and Booker hits the Book End. Austin comes down, but Booker hits him with a chair, and Booker and Bossman stand on the entrance way as the show goes off air. YEAH! THAT'S RIGHT BOOKER AND BOSSMAN STAND TALL.*3/4

WWF RAW 01/07/2002
New York City: Madison Square Garden

WWF Undisputed Champion: Chris Jericho
WWF Intercontinental Champion: Edge
WWF Tag Team Champions: The Dudley Boyz
WWF European Champion: Christian
WWF Hardcore Champion: The Undertaker
WWF Cruiserweight Champion: Tajiri
WWF Women's Champion: Trish Stratus

We get a Triple H video package showing us that "THE GAME" RETURNS TONIGHT!

raw1a.gif

Vince McMahon is out with a present. He notes that the fans think Flair is unworthy of being in the ring with a great competitor like himself, He shows a video tribute to Ric Flair, and then puts on a blond wig and Flair's robe from the box, and struts around. Flair comes out, pissed off, and says every time Vince does something nice for him like that video, he goes and does something stupid like this. He slaps the wig off and yells to take off his goddamned robe right now. Vince does it, but has a lead pipe in the pocket and nails Flair in the head with it! HOLY SHIT! Flair is busted open Vince punches and kicks him. He stomps on the robe, and leaves Flair down in the ring. AWESOME!

raw1b.gif

Rob Van Dam vs. Test
RVD is mad over here and I have no idea why he's facing Test? Anyway this was a RVD get your shit in match where he shows us his moves. The finish happens when Test misses the big boot and bails, but grabs a chair. Back in, Van Daminator and frog splash finish. *3/4

raw1c.gif

Coach is waiting for Triple H, and Kurt Angle appears, Angle is offended because he has a big announcement to make, and won’t answer Coach’s “pity questionsâ€￾

At WWF New York, Terri and Trish are bickering about some stuff so Terri challenges Trish to a wet t-shirt contest, and she accepts.

Billy & Chuck vs. Scotty 2 Hotty & Albert
This was basically a squash for Billy and Chuck to get them going on TV. It was pretty awful. 3/4*

Chris Jericho rips on the fans and Flair for booked him against Rikishi and says he will not get the stink face. Elsewhere Michael Cole interviews Steve Austin and Austin says he has 3 things to discuss. Triple H is back and he's not here to wish him luck, he is also now in the Royal Rumble. And lastly tonight, he and Rock will whip ass tonight.

WWF Intercontinental Championship: Edge vs. Lance Storm
This only got like a minute, FUCK THIS COMPANY! They did have a nice counter from the Backdrop and rollup which gets two for Edge, but Storm reverses to the half-crab. Post-Match When Edge got to the stage; William Regal jumped him from behind and KO'd him with the brass knucks. DUD!

raw1d.gif

Kurt talks to Christian and asks what the big deal about Triple H is, and notes that it was him who saved the WWF, not H. Kurt then shits on U2 and says a beautiful day was when he won an Olympic Gold Medal or when he won his WWF Title. He then says H was out for 8 months with a torn quad, and is a wuss. Kurt says he tears his quad all the time, and tore it this morning. :lmao FUCKIN' AWESOME!

Booker T & Bossman vs. Steve Austin & The Rock
This had its moments but Bossman was slow and awful when he was in the ring. It was like every time he was in the ring he would blow a spot or mess something up. The Rock was clearly the MVP here with bumping, selling and his comeback was all great. **

Chris Jericho vs. Rikishi
The early part had Rikishi in full control with Jericho bumping like a BOSS! The finish happens when Rikishi sets up the Banzai drop, but "THE GOAT" Ref Nick Patrick gets in his face and gets shoved down. Jericho grabs a belt in the meantime, but misses, and the ref gets bumped in the corner. Rikishi gives him a Stink face, but Jericho nails him with the belt and gets the pin. Nick counts from all the way across the ring, and ignores Rikishi's arm being up. **

In the back, The Big Show talks to Tajiri and Torrie, and says that Triple H returning is awesome because he raises the bar for everyone. Kurt Angle comes up and calls them all fan boys, and Show says H sets a standard above everyone else. Kurt reminds them all that Triple H is a horrible person, and with him back on top, people will hate the WWF again and asks if it was someone else bashing people in the head with a sledgehammer.

At ringside, Lawler has a super soaker for the wet t-shirt contest, and says he put ice water in. He accidentally shoots it, and says he fired early, and JR says that's not unusual.

The Dudleyz mock Spike, and Tazz comes up. He asks why they still have a chip on their shoulder, and D-Von challenges them to knock it off. Bubba says Tazz forgot where he came from, and Tazz says the Dudleyz are the ones who forgot where they all came from. Tazz challenges them to go to the ring now, and Bubba says that they didn't forget where they all came from and says to BEAT US IF YOU CAN, and Tazz finishes, "SURVIVE IF WE LET YOU!"

Hardcore Match for the WWF Tag Team Championship: The Dudley Boyz (w/ Stacy Keibler) vs. Tazz & Spike Dudley
For 3 minutes this was pretty great. A bunch of violent and awesome shit like Spike getting hurled around, Bubba whipping Spike with the title belts, hitting him with the stop signs, table dodges and Bubba getting Suplexed head-first onto the edge of the table. Bubba accidentally also is distracted by Stacy's which leads to Spike hitting the Dudley Dog’s through the table, and Tazz and Spike win the tag titles. **1/2

adhPU1Rs.gif

Undertaker officially enters the Rumble and reminds us that nobody actually respects Triple H and wants him to get injured again.

Trish and Terri come down for the wet t-shirt contest. Jazz comes down and attacks Trish.

addAIlyb.gif

Triple H comes out to a serious POP! this is up there with some of the '98/99 Austin, Rock ones. His whole entrance was like 9 minutes long, AWESOME! He says he is The Game, and you can bet your ass is back, and is officially entering the Royal Rumble, and Kurt Angle comes out and says his time now, and for the first time ever, Kurt Angle is in the Royal Rumble! Kurt says he would have done it last year, but he was too busy pinning Triple H to retain the WWF Title. Triple H responds by tackling and attacking Angle. They brawl a bit and Triple H Pedigrees Kurt and poses, and raw goes of air.

Stephanie tells Debra that her husband could beat up Debra's husband

Stephanie comes out wearing a ridiculously hawt and tight outfit. Anyway she let us know that, indeed, she can do whatever she wants because she’s married to HHHH. She takes credit for all his WWF title wins, She talks about how her business savvy guided Triple H to success a how he'll win the Rumble. She says if she tells H to destroy someone, he will. Security comes out and escorts her to the back.

sd1a.gif

Christian and Lance talk about the WWF Tag Titles are so easy to win tonight with Tazz and Spike as champions. Christian says they'll be easier to beat in MSG than the Knicks, and Lance says Americans suck at hockey. He leaves and Christian says they also suck at basketball.

WWF Tag Team Championship: Spike Dudley & Tazz vs. Christian & Lance Storm
Fun little match it was structured well with Christian and Storm working on Spike for the majority and Tazz getting the hot tag. I must admit Tazz/Spike have been the master of 4 minute matches. Post-Match: The Dudleyz come out to try and attack, but Tazz and Spike run them off. *3/4

A video promo shows "VAL VENIS" will returns at the Rumble.

WWF Intercontinental Championship: Edge vs. Bossman
This was alright; Bossman tried his best to make this slow and boring. Man he's pretty awful here he made a simple 4 and half minute match seem like 20 minutes. Post-Match: William Regal is on the tron in the back and challenges Edge to a match, Edge agrees"

A video promo shows "GOLDUST” will returns at the Rumble.

Kurt Angle tries to talk about the Rumble, but gets distracted by WHAT chants. He yells at them to stop, and threatens to leave. He blames this on Austin and finally challenges Austin to a match tonight. Elsewhere, Booker can’t brush his teeth because Rikishi is busy taking a shit. :lmao

The Rock & Rob Van Dam vs. Chris Jericho & Test
This was AWESOME! As both Jericho and Test got a nice heat segment on both RVD and Rock who sold the beating well and both had great comebacks leading to hot tags. The finish was cool as Test & RVD go battling out of the ring and into the crowd. Jericho rolls up get which gets a two on Rock, but he comes back. Jericho bulldogs him, but misses the Lionsault. Rock Bottom is blocked, but the spinebuster into the Sharpshooter for the submission. ***1/4

sd1d.gif

A sit-down interview with Vince and JR airs, and Vince says he enjoys destroying lives and it turns him on. :lmao He wants Flair's family at the Rumble so they can see him destroy Ric's life and then he can see them crying. Then Flair will beg him to buy his stock.

A video promo shows "MR. PERFECT " will returns at the Rumble.

Booker T vs. Rikishi
Some stuff happen it was pretty terrible. The finish was hilarious though! Booker gets his side/axe kick combo, and its SPINAROONI time. Rikishi superkicks him, however, and Stinkfaces him in the corner. Booker bails out of the ring then vomits on Lawler and Cole. Rikishi dances to celebrate so I guess the match is done? DUD!

abm5Sv0u.gif

Booker bumps into DDP in the bathroom, DDP says "it's not a bad thing, WAIT! It was a bad, bad thing but IT'S A GOOD THING!" Because it didn't happen to him! D.D.P!

A video promo shows "THE GODFATHER” will returns at the Rumble.

The Rock cuts a promo about how the clock is ticking on Jericho's title reign, and how he going to take his size 14 size boot shove it up his ass, pull it out, stick it back up, pull it out whips it on Coaches face cause he likes it then stick it back up.

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Kurt Angle
MORE AWESOMENESS! Between these two. Most of the match Austin keeps Kurt grounded so Kurt wouldn't be able to out wrestle him this would ultimately lead to Kurt trying to brawl with him. From that we got some great back-and-forth action. The finish happen when Kurt finally takes over after a low blow, and immediately goes for the Moonsault and hell he actually hit it that makes Kurt like 5/55, anyway it gets two, and he goes for the Angle lock, but Austin reverses to a rollup for two. Angle Slam is reversed to a Stunner, but Kane comes in for no adequately explored reason and ruins a perfectly great TV match by chokeslamming both guys. Post-Match: Big Show comes out now, and he and Kane fight. Show gets Kane up and hits the Chokeslam. Triple H then comes down, kicks him in the dick and tries to knock down Show, but can't. So he kicks him in the dick again, and hits the Pedigree to put him down. ***1/4

WWF RAW 01/14/2002
Dallas, TX

WWF Undisputed Champion: Chris Jericho
WWF Intercontinental Champion: Edge
WWF Tag Team Champions: Spike Dudley & Tazz
WWF European Champion: Christian
WWF Hardcore Champion: The Undertaker
WWF Cruiserweight Champion: Tajiri
WWF Women's Champion: Trish Stratus

Ric Flair comes out to open the show. He brings up Dallas’ great wrestling history, remembering his match against Kerry Von Erich. He makes a mistake and calls Vince the “lateâ€￾ Vince McMahon. lol He says he's recently been humbled by Vince, and shows clips of the beatdown on Raw and then Vince's amazing interview on Smackdown when he said destroying lives turns him on. He accuses Vince of abuse of power. And says he's using his power to make their match at the Rumble into a STREET FIGHT! He begins to elbow drop and knee drop the microphone and challenges Vince to come out and fight right now. Jericho comes down instead. He says that the WWF has not always been all about the owner, that it used to be around the champ. He thinks the WWF should revolve around him. In fact, the World revolves around him. He proceeds to make fun of Texans, and then he says Flair will do what George W. Bush did yesterday: CHOKE! Flair finally punches Jericho and goes nuts with chops, punches, and a low blow. He puts on the Figure Four, but Vince runs out to hit Flair in the back of the head with the WEAKEST! Pipe shot I've ever seen. Vince apologizes to Jericho and Jericho helps Flair up and Vince mocks his concussion and slaps Flair. Jericho holds Flair up and Vince hits Flair in the gut with the pipe before they leave.

raw1a.gif

Christian and Lance congratulate Jericho on what he did. Bradshaw comes over and yells at him for talking bad about his home state and the President, and says if these fools want to follow Jericho, they can follow him down to the ring for a six man, and he'll find some friends.

During the break, Vince flees the building in the limo.

Spike Dudley (w/ Tazz) vs. Bubba Ray Dudley (w/ D-Von Dudley & Stacy Keibler)
Nothing terrible here, just a simple 2 minute matches. Stacey didn't even flash her ass, DAMMIT! *1/2

In the parking lot, Triple H and Stephanie arrive.

raw1b.gif

Billy & Chuck vs. The Hurricane (w/ Mighty Molly) & Tajiri (w/ Torrie Wilson)
2 minutes of nothing, Hurricane and Tajiri bumping made this watchable, but Billy and Chuck are awful. Anyway they win a Jungle Kick. *

The Undertaker has arrives in the parking lot.

Kurt Angle cuts a promo denying that Austin had him beat on SD, and says Kane stuck his stupid burned nose where it didn't belong. Kurt says if Kane wants him, to quote Shakira, "whenever, wherever". :lmao The crowd chants “What?â€￾ and he asks them if they have never heard of Shakira, accusing them of not being as hip as him. He says Kane almost won last year's Rumble, but he doesn't have gold like Kurt does, because being a big freak isn't an Olympic sport. He then promises to snap Kane’s ankle tonight.

Debra & Stephanie have another conversation on about whose husband will win the rumble. The conversation quickly turns into a catfight, but the refs break it up.

raw1c.gif
raw1d.gif

#1 Contender's Match: Jazz vs. Jackie
Trish Stratus comes down to do commentary. This was like a minute long, Jazz finishes with a fisherman’s buster. DUD!

Kane vs. Kurt Angle
Kurt's bumping was awesome here, and Kane was "on" tonight, or maybe Angle brings out the best in him. They did a number of great spots in here like I believe this was the first time Kurt runs up the ropes and hit a Belly to Belly from the top. Kurt counters the chokeslam into the anklelock was cool and so was Kurt trying to avoid the Chokeslam by pulling the ref in front of him as Kane grabs the throat. So Kane Chokeslams both of them at once. **3/4

raw1e.gif

Stephanie is still ranting about some stuff, but Triple H stands up her about her badgering.

In the APA office, Show is there drinking. Booker wanders through the background and Bradshaw says this isn't a damn barn and to use the front door. He's looking for the trainers and Faarooq says he should look for a haircut. Show mocks Booker for barfing on SD. Booker challenges him to a match, and Show chases Booker off.

Edge and Rob Van Dam vs. William Regal and Test
Basic stuff here, nothing really stud out. The finish happen when Edge hit the Edge-O-Matic for two on Regal. Regal gets the knuckles out and cleans Rob’s clock, but Edge spears him and DDTs Test. But Regal would hit Edge again with the knuckles. Man this is like the 5the time in the past 4 weeks Edge has been hit with the knuckles. *3/4

Backstage, Christian, Y2J, and Storm are worried about their upcoming match. They become even more worried when they see the APA talking to Rikishi on a monitor. We see a replay of Booker taking the stinkface and throwing up on Michael Cole.

Booker T vs. The Big Show
I wasn't really watching this, so i can't tell you if it was good or not but i know it went like 1 or 2 minutes. I know the finish happen when Big Show charges at Booker who was in the corner but he gets out of the way and Show falls face-first onto the exposed second turnbuckle (Booker had removed the padding before the match) DUD!

Michael Cole interviews Stone Cold Steve Austin. Austin says he is not afraid of Triple H at the Royal Rumble. Austin is working on a Rumble strategy. He is getting a big beer belly in order to lower his center of gravity, making it harder for him to be eliminated. The crowd says "WHAT?" like 20 times in the space of 3 minutes.

Chris Jericho, Lance Storm, and Christian vs. The APA and Rikishi
UGH! this could have been great but NOOOOOO! they only gave them 4 minutes to play with. I don't want to talk about it. *1/2

Triple H comes down to the ring alone, because he told Steph he did not want her out there with him. Amazing pop for Hunter, without a doubt the biggest one of the night. Triple H states that his comeback is far for complete. He wants to win the Royal Rumble to get a title shot at Wrestlemania. He wants the WWF World Championship to make his comeback complete. Suddenly the glass breaks and Stone Cold Steve Austin makes his way out. Triple H cuts him off in his four turnbuckle salute. They throw simultaneous punches and start to go at it. H escapes the stunner then goes for the pedigree, but Austin reverses. The Undertaker sneaks out and hits Trip in the back with a chair allowing Austin to hit the stunner. Undertaker comes in and knocks Austin out with a chair shot to the head. AWESOME!

The Rock walks in and Austin is waiting. He says he's got some good news and bad news. Good news, Stone Cold's winning the Rumble. Bad news, that means after Rock wins the title from Jericho, it's Austin/Rock III, and right now, it's 2-0, Austin. Rock says he thinks about that all the time, and remembers thinking about it very clearly at Survivor Series when he pinned Austin.

Rob Van Dam vs. William Regal
Quite boring at the start as it had its sloppy moments. I seriously love the Regal "knucks" gimmick as each week he would hide them in a different place around the ring. This time the ref would check him and around the ring so it would look like he would have no knucks this week? WORNG! he hid the knucks under the timekeepers table and he would use them to KO RVD. **1/2

In the back, Kurt walks into The Rock's locker room, and says it's Kurt vs. The Rock at Mania. Rock then makes him close his eyes as Rock hypes it up. Before shitting on his dreams.

Tajiri (w/ Torrie Wilson) vs. Billy Gunn (w/ Chuck Palumbo)
Tajiri tried his best to make Gunn's offense look credible but me and all the person wasn’t buying it for a second. Post-match, Gunn held up Tajiri and Chuck hit him with the Superkick. *1/2

In the back, Triple H walked into Rock's locker room and they have a staredown. Triple H says he is winning the Rumble, and they had unfinished business. Rock said once he wins the title, they'll finish it at Mania.

Jazz jumps Trish during an interview. Lillian starts scramming as she expresses her concern for Trish’s well-being, as she screams for help.

Diamond Dallas Page vs. Bossman
If DDP Wins, He Gets A Job, which seems out of the blue. It was boring; both guys just seem to be going through the motions. DDP gets a flash Diamond Cutter out of a body slam to win. *

In the back, Rock is about to leave his locker room, and The Undertaker walks in. He says smart money is on The Rock, so he thought he'd tell him that he's winning the Rumble, so it's Rock/Taker at Mania. Rock says its fine with him.

this just happen, WOW!

Over The Top Rope Challenge: Rikishi vs. Christian vs. Lance Storm
This is a three-person battle royal, which is quite possibly the most Blue concept for a television match that I’ve seen in a good long while. Heels beat on Rikishi and Storm leg lariats him. He comes back with a Samoan drop on Storm and a squashes him in the corner, and then applies a Stink face for good measure. Superkick puts Storm out of his misery, and Christian quickly follows. Big Show now heads out, as I guess they got together and organized an impromptu drawing in the back (just in case, you understand) and Show got #3. Show clotheslines Rikishi, but gets Samoan dropped. Show slams him right out of the ring. The APA now head out at the same time, already blatantly disregarding the rules of the impromptu Royal Rumble, and Bradshaw dumps Show. Kane comes out and gets double-teamed, but he dumps the APA to “win”, which I guess is official since there was a referee at ringside sending guys back to the dressing room and everything.

Earlier tonight in the parking lot, The Dudley Boyz jumped Spike and Tazz. They locked Tazz in the trunk of a car, and hit Spike with the 3D on the floor. AWESOME!

sd1a.gif

Elsewhere, Debra is still mad at Stephanie and lets Austin know. He doesn't want her at ringside tonight.

Edge vs. Test
Test has new music, which is no less lame than the usual music, but far more generic. The match had its moments but it just didn't click. The finish happen when Test goes for the powerbomb but it's reversed by Edge, reversed again to a pumphandle by Test, reversed again by Edge to the Edge-O-Matic for two. Which was sweet. Regal runs down and brawls with Edge. Edge grabs a chair and attacks both guys for the DQ. *1/2

Royal Rumble hype video to Kid Rock's "Cocky" song, which is a pretty cool song.

Triple H tells Stephanie to stay back here tonight because he doesn't need any distractions. B00BS! Then she gives this HAWT! Sad look as Hunter walks away.

sd1b.gif

Stone Cold Steve Austin & Triple H vs. Kurt Angle & Booker T
Before the match Michael Cole says "If Austin and Triple H can get on the same page as a team tonight, can you imagine the kind of power in that duo?" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Anyway this was pretty enjoyable; Austin was in the ring for the majority of the time. The finish happens when Austin dumps Angle on the outside then Austin would hit Booker with the Stunner, and he stumbled into the Pedigree for the 3 count. Post-Match: Austin and H stare each other down, but The Undertaker comes out onto the stage and stares them down to end the show. **1/2 - **3/4

WWF Undisputed Champion: Chris Jericho
WWF Intercontinental Champion: Edge
WWF Tag Team Champions: Spike Dudley & Tazz
WWF European Champion: Christian
WWF Hardcore Champion: The Undertaker
WWF Cruiserweight Champion: Tajiri
WWF Women's Champion: Trish Stratus

WWF Tag Team Championship: The Dudleyz (w/ Stacy Keibler) vs. Spike Dudley and Taz
Short and to the point match. It never really felt like it properly got underway. Felt more like a RAW match, but they packed as much action as they could into the five minutes allowed. The finish happens when Spike tries another Acid Drop but D-Von pushes him off the top to the floor. D-Von charges Taz but he moves and Taz locks in the Tazmission for a quick tap **

rumble1b.gif

Lillian Garcia is interviewing Edge backstage. Edge says he's got the advantage because he's got a chair that he "edge-u-cuted" Regal with.

WWF Intercontinental Championship: William Regal vs. Edge
During the entrances Edge decided not to bring the chair that he had with him during the promo. SO WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THE PROMO? The match was pretty solid but it could have been so much better. The finish happens when Regal cuts him off and goes up top and tries a suplex but Edge pushes him off and hits a super spinwheel kick off the top. Regal gets out and puts out a different set of brass knuckles. Edge goes for the spear but takes out Regal and the ref. Edge tries to grab Regal but gets KNOCKEDOUT! for the 3 count and we have a NEW IC Champion. Post-Match: Cole interviews Regal, and he says he's been blessed with the Power of the Punch, and thanks God above as he celebrates. ***

rumble1c.gif

WWF Women's Championship: Jazz vs. Trish Stratus
Jackie is special guest ref. Decent for a four minute women's title match, and I only say decent because Trish is still in pre-great worker but you can see she's trying. *

On Heat, WWF co-owner Ric Flair brings his kids to the arena and they're now at ringside.

Street Fight: Ric Flair vs. Vince McMahon
Flair's son and daughter are in the front row and they look fucking depressed about being here. Or maybe they are selling that the match is going to be a FIGHT! HAHAHAHAHAHA! I know that Flair was seriously lacking in confidence during this period, so maybe they compensated for that by having Vince control the match but it's just MINDBLOWINGLY STUPID. Vince is at his best when getting his ass kicked and he only did for the last five minutes of the match. At least both men did sick blade jobs. *

rumble1d.gif
rumble1e.gif

Michael Cole interrogates Nick Patrick but before he answers Stephanie McMahon interrupts she talks about how H is going to kick everyone's ass tonight, and she also mocks Debra. Austin comes over and yells "WHAT?" at Stephanie until she leaves. AWESOME! Austin then cuts a promo on the rumble. "WHAT?" Count was like 35 here.

WWF Undisputed Championship: The Rock vs. Chris Jericho
Jericho is wearing the "BADASS" Red tights tonight and before the match starts he gets in Rock's face and does the "JUST BRING IT!" taunt. Everything up to the overbooked finish was fine hell it was almost going to be on the level of the rematch from No Mercy level. I did love the story of both guys trying to outdo the other, by any means necessary which included stealing each other’s finishing moves. “THE GOAT†Nick Patrick run-in is gold in terms of heat. The match ended when Rock hits the Rock Bottom on Patrick and a spinebuster on Jericho. He hits the People's Elbow but neither ref is up. Rock tries to revive Earl but Jericho low blows Rock, sends him into the turnbuckle, and school boys him with the feet on the ropes for the 3 count. Oh and I didn’t even mention the hilarious moment when after Rock gave Jericho the Rock bottom on the announce table and a Black guy in the front row was screaming “C’MON JERICHO!†like 20 times. ***3/4

Shawn Michaels is at WWF NY with a Texas shirt and cowboy hat on. He predicts Undertaker and SCSA as the rumble favourites.

Royal Rumble Match
This had some AWESOME/AMAZING moments like the Hardyz returning to get some revenge on Taker. Maven from Tough Enough! Just eliminated The Undertaker, then Taker just flat out killing the kid. Austin throwing out all the jobbers, then the reaction when Triple H's music plays and he gets a full 2 and a half minute entrance. Also Hurricane grabbed HHH and Austin throats like he was going to chokeslam them but then just look at each other and throw him out. Final four: Austin, HHH, Angle and Perfect. Angle hits the Angel slam on Triple H and the rolling Germans for Austin, but a low blow stops that. The Kurt/Curt power trip teams up to dump Austin, unsuccessfully. Three-way slugfest and Austin tries to get rid of Perfect, but he’s perfect so Angle dumps Austin from behind instead. Perfect goes after Angle, but he convinces him to go after Triple H with him. Austin grabs a chair and takes out everyone before leaving. Angle & Perfect do the heel mis-communication bit, but shockingly perfect doesn't get knocked out. Perfectplex for Angle but Triple H tosses him. So we’re down to Triple H & Angle, Triple H takes him down and pounds away. Angle suplexes him but can’t get him over and out. So Triple H chokes him down, but gets dumped to the outside be he is able to hangs on. As Angle celebrates he then realizes Triple H is not gone yet and charges into a facebuster that dazes him against the ropes and HHH clotheslines him over the top ELIMINATING him.

Rob Van Dam, Spike Dudley & Tazz vs. Booker T & The Dudley Boyz (w/ Stacy Keiibler)
Very fun six men to open the show, but Spike never actually got in the match, so I guess the neck injury is serious then. The finish was pretty AWESOME! Booker shoves Rob off the top and Tazz gets 3D. Then out of nowhere RVD comes flying out off the top rope with a frog splash on a stunned Bubba. **1/4 - **1/2

raw1a.gif

Chris Jericho comes down to the ring, and he gets on the mic. And he says "NOBODY!" thought he would win last night, he's STILL Undisputed Champion. He demands a standing ovation and says there's nobody he hasn't beaten, and then Triple H comes out. He says there is one man who Jericho has never beaten ever, and it's him. He says he's going to Mania no matter what, but the question is if Jericho will make it to Mania with the titles. He says Jericho has 2 months to show he belongs in the main event. He says in 2 months’ time, it will be time to play The Game, and Kurt Angle comes out. Kurt stands on the stage and says H attacked him from behind at the Rumble, and it was unfair. Unlike H, he attacks people to their face. Like right now. Kurt runs down and it's a 2 on 1. Triple H gets hit with the WWF Title and the Angle Slam. Jericho puts the Walls on, and The Rock runs down to save. Jericho immediately bails, so does Angel.

WWF Intercontinental Championship: William Regal vs. Edge
Really good match here and I enjoyed it more than the Rumble match 24 hours ago, the finish was a pretty great "SWERVE" as Regal got out the knucks, but the ref didn't see it, and Edge took them and KO's Regal. He covered, but Nick Patrick saw the knucks on Edge's fist and DQ'd him. Post-Match Edge snaps, and takes out his frustration on a pack of referees. ***

Edge gets kicked out of the building by security. Elsewhere Big Show says what Kane did to him last night has never been done, and shakes Kane's hand. Show walks off, and Billy & Chuck come over. They say they noticed Kane likes red and they love red, so they got him a KANE bandanna like them. Chuck tries to put it on, and Kane pushes him away. They jump Kane then run away.

Mr. Perfect meets Debra, and he talks about how he and Austin go back, “REALLY†â€NAW†:lmao and how Austin cost him the rumble.

Ric Flair comes out. He reminisces about how much of a shitty dad he's been but at least he's been their when all 4 of his kids where born he also mentions his children growing up without him, and since he wants his kids to view him as a great father, he beat up Vince McMahon for them at the Rumble. Vince McMahon then comes down. He says he's not the only one who lost at the Rumble and says that Flair, the locker room, and the fans also lost. He's about to do something even he will regret, and tells Flair to wait and see.

Val Venis vs. Mr. Perfect
Before the match Val asks some lucky female in the crowd to take his towel off, he then picks this pretty good looking woman out from the crowd (SHE IS OBVIOUSLY A PLANT) anyway she takes it off and they make out for 30 seconds before Mr. Perfect comes out. They fumbled and fucked around until Austin came out and blasts Perfect with a chair DUD! Post-match, Val gets on the mic and says if he ever had a problem with Austin, he'd tell him face to face. Austin gives him a Stunner for being stupid. Austin gets on the mic and cuts this hilarious/Blue promo. DUD!

raw1b.gif

Billy & Chuck vs. Kane & The Big Show
This was a mess. Kane pounds Chucky and dumps Billy, then Show tosses Billy around and stands in the middle of the ring no-selling everything. Show knocks Kane down by accident and takes a fameasser for the pin DUD!

Video package telling us that WrestleMania X8 is only 8 weeks.

Rock gets confronted by Triple H, who says he didn't need saving. Rock wants to know why he’s so angry all the time. He just won the Rumble, and he’s going to Wrestlemania. “Smile! Go have a ham & cheese sandwich!†he said he didn't go down to help him he just wanted to whip Jericho's ass

At WWF New York the APA talk about all the good moments the Rumble had then JBL talks about how the Godfather is back and he’s now LEGIT! Look him up in a yellow pages.

raw1c.gif

The Godfather comes out with the WHORES! Escorts and talks about how he is now legit. All you have to do is call 1800-Godfather, it’s in the yellow pages. Lance Storm comes out and after asking if he can be serious for a minute, says he is as legitimate as a three legged donkey. Godfather tells him to come and stop him, and Lance comes down. Godfather beats him up and hits the Ho Train, before dancing with the women. :lmao

GOATdust!

In the back, Stephanie yells at H to go kill The Rock for all he's said about her, and he stands up and asks when she's going to figure out that the whole world doesn't revolve around what she wants. She says he's changed, and hasn't once publicly acknowledged how she's helped him and his comeback, or how she contributed to his Rumble win. He asks her to make a contribution to his sanity and shut up, before leaving. She then gives this HAWT mean face.

raw1d.gif

The Rock & Triple H vs. Chris Jericho & Kurt Angle
Solid match here nothing really stud out but Triple H's face offense doesn't do it for me. He's not bad in the ring or anything, but it's just not the same seeing him out smart other guys and being a dick. The finish happens when Jericho and charges at Rock but Rocky is able to duck and he hits Angle in the face by accident. Rock then hits the Rock Bottom on Jericho for the 3 count. **1/2

Rob Van Dam vs. William Regal
RVD flies over the top rope onto Regal to gain early control. Now we’re in the ring, tope rope leaping kick then the rolling thunder, spinning kick and the Five Star Splash finishes it, WHAT? Post-match: Edge runs in and Spears Regal. DUD!

In the back, Vince addresses someone off screen and says he knows they're thinking he won't have the guts to do what he said he would, and they're wrong. He says he has no alternative, and has to do something that even he will regret, and he's going to do it tonight. :hm:

Rikishi vs. Big Bossman
So Jackie has applied for a referee licence so that's why she's reff'ing this match, I just thought creative had nothing for her so they gave her this. This was too short to mean anything. Just 2 big guys slugging it out. 1/2*

Lillian asked Stephanie if she wanted to talk about her marital problems. Stephanie said she and Hunter are fine, and Lillian is the only problem, and Stephanie throws coffee on her.

sd1b.gif

WWF Tag Team Championship: Spike Dudley & Tazz vs. Scotty 2 Hotty & Albert
No idea why the Albert and Scotty are getting a title match? This was pretty fun for 3 minutes all 4 guys tried and the did some cool stuff, the finish happens when Albert comes into the ring and cleans house. Scotty is back in and he lands The Worm on Tazz. He covers, but Spike breaks it up. Now Spike lands the Dudley Dog on Albert. Tazz locks in the Tazzmission on Scotty, and he taps. **1/4

Stephanie and Triple H talk in the locker room. She says she got him this far because she's a McMahon, and he asks why she's so proud of that after all Vince has done to her. Stephanie says Vince said that H married her for her last name, and H says he married her in spite of her last name. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! So are we just going to totally forget the real reason he married her? That was for a WWF title shot. Anyway He says Vince never thought he was good enough for her, and she says maybe he was right. Triple H then walks off.

The Rock cuts a promo making Coach do the Charleston. He says this time last year, he beat Kurt Angle, and he'll do it again tonight and go on to win the title at No Way Out.

sd1c.gif

Christian sees Triple H upset and approaches him. He says from one guy to another, he feels for him and Stephanie has a bad temper. Triple H responds by beating the shit out of Christian and walking off with him down. Elsewhere Vince continues to address someone and says since the Rumble, Ric Flair has assumed a position of leadership. He says you have to understand that under Flair's leadership, the WWF has terminal cancer. He says under Flair's leadership, the WWF will slowly die. He says to this person that you know what you have to do.

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Booker T
This was weak. I just couldn't get into it. Booker's knee work was pretty solid though. The finish happens when Booker lands a nice axe kick, then covers but only for two. Now Booker with a scissor kicks! Booker covers but Austin kicks out at two! Now Booker goes for a Stunner, but Austin pushes him off and lands a Stunner of his own. Austin covers and gets the 3 count. **

In the back, Ric Flair says he has no idea what Vince has been talking about.

Tables Match: Kane & The Big Show vs. The Dudley Boyz (w/ Stacy Keibler)
I have no idea why this is a gimmick match, both teams have a problem with each other and neither team is in a "angle" where they pissed off an owner so this is punishment. They all did some nice brawling and WWE continued the Kane and Show are having mis-communications. The finish happens when Show comes off the ropes while Kane is on the top rope, and Kane falls to the apron. Now Show whips Bubba into the ropes, and he runs into Kane, and Kane falls into the table set up outside of the ring. Post-match: Show and Kane have words but are separated by referees. Not including Jackie, which a shame is because I would of loved to of seen her break it up. *1/2

Vince McMahon continues to address someone and he says everything has to end, but he didn't picture it like this. Vince starts crying and says someone injected his baby with cancer. He gets a hold of himself.

In the back, Billy & Chuck say they should be tag champions now and put over the physiques of each other. They high five, and Gunn slaps Chuck on the ass. :lmao

Trish Stratus vs. Jazz
Much better than the PPV match, Trish was energetic and had a nice comeback and Jazz's heat segment was more fluent. *1/2

In the back, Vince again speaks and says not to to try and talk him out of this, and it has to be done, and if there was any other way, he'd do it. He says if you care as much as he does, that much, then this has to be done, and he won't be talked out of it.

The Rock vs. Kurt Angle
Rock has early control over Angle, but Angle then takes over with a nice fireman’s carry take down followed by an arm bar. This was the usual Kurt/Rock goodness with Rock making Angel's offense look great, Jericho grabs Rock, and smashes Rock into the announce table, then into the ring post. Jericho gets back on commentary, and says he was trying to help Rock back into the ring. We’re back inside the ring now, and Angle has the Ankle Lock applied! Rock reaches the ropes. Both men come off the ropes and they clothesline each other down. Rock comes off the ropes with a big forearm. Rock with a DDT on Angle, cover… and Angle kicks out at two. Angle stops the Rock’s momentum with a clothesline and a slam. Rock quickly hops back up then tosses Angle to the outside. Rock takes care of Jericho and Angle, then they’re back in the ring. Rock with a spinebuster… then Rock slaps on the Sharpshooter! Jericho pulls the ref to the outside as Angle taps out. Now Undertaker is in and he choke slams The Rock! Angle is on for the cover, and the ref is back to count the three! **3/4

In the back, Austin cut a promo, and Kurt Angle ran and attacked him. They brawled, and Kurt took him down into the Ankle Lock and held it on until referees pulled him off.

Kane vs. The Big Show
I have to admit even though every Show/KANE match sucks they always try to make it good but they just don't click as opponents like they do when they are partners. The best part of the match was when Show catches Kane off the top and hits the Chokeslam, but KANE kicks out. Show then yells "WHAT THE FUCK?!" :lmao Kane then Chokeslams Show for the win. **

The APA asks Flair about this NWO in coming to kill the company. Flair says Vince is out of his mind, and he's going to talk to him as soon as he gets here, and he knows more than anyone how the NWO can be. Bradshaw says if it's who he thinks it is, they're no good backstabbing asskissing self-serving shit disturbing sons of bitches. Faarooq says that's being nice about it.

Goldust cuts one of his underrated promos in which he says "The greatest trick the Devil ever played was making the world believe he didn't exist." - Kevin Spacey, The Usual Suspects, He says he is very much real, and it's a reality that "he" is very much closer to getting a taste of. He says he saw "him" perform last week and the people like him, they really like him. He says "he" will soon look back on his life now and miss having so much fun, before his life was changed by the life of GOLDUST!

In the back, Chris Jericho says it was him who granted Maven the title shot. He said he did it because everyone is talking about Maven after the Rumble and NOT him beating The Rock for the 5th time. He says the question isn't if Maven is Tough Enough, but if he's good enough.

WWF Intercontinental Championship: William Regal vs. Rob Van Dam
Van Dam attacks while the ref is checking Regal out. RVD rams Regal into the steel post, then into the steel steps. RVD tosses Regal back into the ring, and lands a big kick and covers Regal, but only for two. RVD lands a flip, cover for two. Rolling Thunder by Van Dam, another two count. Regal lands a blatant low blow, and the ref calls bell for the DQ. Post-match, Regal hits the ref and tries to bail with the title, but RVD pulls him back in. He beats on Regal, but the Dudley Boyz run down and attack RVD. Edge runs down and Spears Regal and Bubba, and throws out D-Von, as RVD gets up. He climbs up and hits Bubba on the floor with an Crossbody. Edge then hits a Flipping Senton to D-Von, and Regal puts the brass knucks on in the ring. Edge tries to come at him off the top, but Regal hits him in the air with the knucks. RVD hits a Flying Sidekick on Regal, but then turns into the 3D from the Dudleyz. DUD!

raw1a.gif

Stephanie yells at Flair for booking Triple H vs. Booker, and he says it's not his fault because Vince booked it. She asked if it was because Triple H called Vince an asshole on Smackdown, and Flair says he doesn't know or care, and if she wants to ask Vince why, get in line behind him, because as soon as he arrives, he's talking to Vince about the NWO.

Diamond Dallas Page & The Godfather vs. Christian & Lance Storm
Before the match Godfather says DDP is one of the satisfied customers of Godfather's Escort Service, and hasn't been able to stop smiling since last night. THAT'S NOT A BAD THING, IT'S A GOOD THING! :lmao, Anyway this match was really fun for the time that it got. Christian and Storm's bumping made Godfather look great and DDP look like a champ too. **1/2

Vince arrives in a limo, the driver apologizes for being late. Vince, instead of firing him, just pats him on the shoulder and walks off.

Ric Flair comes down to the ring, and gets on the mic. He puts over the town for a bit before going to the subject at hand. He says everyone has bad days, and Vince had a bad night on Smackdown, but that is no reason to bring in the NWO. He says he thinks he found a way to impress upon Vince what he would be ruining. He shows a new video dedicated to WWF history, and MAN is it a doozy. The idea is to summarize 30 years of WWF tradition, and it’s ALL there, from Bruno to Graham to Backlund to Hogan to Bret Hart to Shawn to Diesel & Ramon to the present, including all the “eras”, great moments, and memorable matches. That was one HELL of a video. The point, according to Flair, is to remind Vince of the tradition of the WWF, and what exactly he would be throwing away if he let the NWO into the promotion again. Vince refuses to look Flair in the face, and Flair goes nuts asking if he wants to pin him, make him bleed, hit him in the head, hit him with a pipe again, "GODDAMNIT WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO? DO NOT DO THIS TO YOUR COMPANY!" Vince grabs the mic and says he'll call it all off if Flair sells him back his 50% of the stock and gives him full power again. He says Ric has a few days to think about it, and if he says no, he's going to inject the poison o the NWO into WWF veins and it will slowly and eventually kill the WWF, and he'll see all of us in Hell. FUCKIN' AWESOME SEGMENT!

WWF Undisputed Championship: Chris Jericho vs. Maven
I like that they did the Triple H/Shelton, Taker/Hardy role and made Maven look good with some real nice near-falls. The finish happens when Maven fights off the Walls, and catapults Jericho into the exposed turnbuckle then bitchslaps Jericho. Small package gets two for Maven. Jericho then says enough of this shit and puts Maven in the Walls for the submission for the tap out. Post-match, The Undertaker comes down and Jericho goes out for some commentary. He punches him in the ribs and Maven responds by trying to fight back, causing Taker to kill him more. He takes him out to the floor and hits the larynx to the chair murder move. **3/4

raw1b.gif

In the back, Coach asks Taker about Rock on SD and now Maven. Taker asks if Coach would like to remain in possession of his teeth, and he says yes, and Taker says if he says the name "Maven" in his presence again, he will be wearing Coach's teeth as a necklace. He says this is his own fault for letting Maven try and get some ring time at the Rumble while he beat up the Hardyz and this punk kid takes a liberty and eliminates him. Taker says he'll keep beating on Maven until he's decided he's had enough, and as far as The Rock goes, he got what was coming for reminding the whole world that Maven eliminated Taker in a promo. He says everything's a joke, song, and dance to The Rock, but he's not cute and he doesn't sing or dance, and he DOES NOT get disrespected. What happened to Rock will continue to happen every time Rock disrespects him.

Jazz finds Billy & Chuck doing some groin stretches, SWERVE! Elsewhere Stephanie tells H about Vince booking the match, and he says he doesn't care, and he'll be fine. She offers her help at ringside, and he says thanks but no thanks.

The Acolytes & Trish Stratus vs. Billy & Chuck & Jazz
Jesus this was awful, APA are trash, Billy & Chuck are even worse, Trish is still learning and Jazz was solid. Chuck Powerbombs Trish to win. 1/2*

Kurt Angle cuts a promo saying he hopes Austin is mad about SD, since he'll either get so angry he'll get DQ'd, or he'll be so angry he messes up allowing Kurt to easily win.

Triple H vs. Booker T
This was below average, and was mostly used to show an off Triple H’s face offense. His selling was off here too as he would sell go on offense, not sell then sell for like 5 seconds. The most hilarious part of the match was when Christian ran down to hit Triple H with a Reverse DDT on the floor, and like 30 seconds later, He was back in and killing Booker T. Stephanie ran down to try and stop Christian on the apron, and she slapped him. He knocked Christian off and yelled at Stephanie. Booker knocks H into her and gets a schoolboy with the tights to win. OH SHIT! Post-Match: She's crying and says she's sorry, but Triple H walks out on her. **1/4

raw1c.gif

Video Package telling us Wrestlemania X8 is 7 weeks away.

Backstage, Triple H wouldn't let Stephanie in the locker room, and she yelled that she's sorry and she loves him. He opened the door and put her suitcase and shoes in her arms and slammed the door shut again. :lmao

#1 Contender's Match: Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Kurt Angle
Angel/Austin finally delivering something great not like their last 2/3 meetings. This was tremendously paced and hard-fought and was filled with some great moments like at the start when Austin wants to kill Kurt after Smackdown, but Kurt catches him trying to end it early and gets the Ankle Lock, and Steve Austin counters with a fucking Victory Roll. The finish was pretty BADASS too As Austin is getting more pissed off so he tries to use a chair, but Kurt pushes Austin into the ref. He beats the SHIT! out of Austin with the chair, but by the time the ref crawls over, Austin kicks out. He survives the Ankle Lock, and gets his foot on the rope after the Angle Slam, but Kurt doesn't see it and just heard the ref count to three. Of course, the bell didn't ring so Angel is pissed, he then turns around and Austin hits him with the Stunner for the 3 count. Jericho runs down but Austin also gives him a Stunner before drinking beer to end the show. AWESOME! Austin’s selling of the chair shots while he’s trying to get up to drink beer is hilarious. ***1/2 - ***3/4

Chris Jericho vs. Tazz
This is all non-title match and this match came about because Tazz didn't like the beating Jericho gave Maven on Raw. Of course, this makes no sense as a.) All Jericho did was defend his title, b.) Taker was the one that did the horrible beating and c.) Tazz bullied Maven the first week Maven was on TV. Jackie is ref here she hasn't graduated from Ref school yet, anyway this was solid for 3 minutes, Jericho won after he missed the lionsault but hit him with a low blow. Jackie talks smack and raises his hand, and Jericho gives her lip. She shoves him, so he puts her in the Walls of Jericho before leaving. **1/4

APA hangs out with Chris Klein and LL Cool J in their office to hype up ROLLERBALL~, and Rebecca Romijn-Stamos shows up. Bradshaw pulls out an apple-tini and another fruity drink from the drawer in perfect condition and hands them to her. She elects to drink beer instead.

Ric Flair comes out to the ring; He puts over his long history in Norfolk and says this makes this even harder. He said he had to make the right decision for the WWF and the fans, and it's not just about him. He says he's here to say goodbye, and says it's good because a year ago, he didn't get a chance to say goodbye, and he's so thankful for these last few months. He says he's going to cherish this, and thank you.

WWF European Championship: Christian vs. Diamond Dallas Page
Really fun match here and it was the start of Christian's "temper tantrum" gimmick. The finish of the match happens when Christian get the inverted DDT, for two. Unprettier is reversed to the Diamond Cutter for the pin and we have a NEW EURO CHAMPION~! **1/2

sd1b.gif

Vince McMahon arrives with 3 lawyers and says Flair isn't done yet, and he's going to sign away his stock in the middle of the ring tonight.

Goldust promises to reveal himself on RAW. "Come out, come out, wherever you are" - Robert DeNiro, Cape Fear, 1991.

A pretaped interview between JR and Stephanie airs. She says Triple H hurt her feelings on Raw, but she's forgiving and still loves him. She denies ever cheating on Triple H, and says he never would either, and says people think there's something wrong because they only see 4 hours a week on TV and miss them on the road or at home, and don't see everything. She says she's going to prove to the whole world how much Triple H loves her.

In the APA office, they are playing poker and Booker T comes in through the wall and demands to know why he wasn't cast as the leading man in Rollerball. LL Cool J says it was because there's no scene where someone gets beat up in a grocery store. In response, Booker challenges the APA to a tag match. :lmao

Rob Van Dam & Edge vs. The Dudley Boyz (w/ Stacy Keibler)
Regal is on commentary for this match. Really good fun here with the usual RVD/Edge tag formula of RVD bumping like a pro and Edge getting the hot tag to clean house. Real good work from the Dudleyz too as they were great with the heat segment. Regal got on the apron with the knucks, which I should add where hidden in her Stacy's skirt, AWESOME! Edge sent Bubba into him, and he hit the Edgacution to win. **1/2 - **3/4

Test says he'll be Booker T's tag partner to impress Rebecca. Elsewhere Kurt Angle cuts a promo saying he's not a loser, and he'll never forgive Triple H for stealing his moment at the Rumble. Ric Flair says goodbye to The Rock.

Booker T & Test vs. The APA (w/ LL Cool J, Chris Klein, & Robecca Romijn-Stamos)
This was a mess, they tried to have a brawl style match but it didn't work. DUD!

The Rock & Triple H vs. The Undertaker & Kurt Angle
Standard stuff here. Kurt's bumping made this fun and Taker's bully enforcer heel role was great. Rock's selling the heat segment made this too, but that Triple H, who's clearly still shaking off ring rust but he's really shaky when selling. The finish happens when Triple H hits Kurt with the Pedigree and Taker hits Triple H with a chair for the DQ. Post-Match: Taker hits Triple H in the head with the chair again, and Rock and Taker brawl to the floor. But Rock walks into a big boot. Undertaker is about to do the "Steamboat" angle, but Rock fights him off, Rock then Rock Bottoms him through the announce table! Back in the ring, Kurt has Triple H in the Ankle Lock and a bunch of referees have to pull him off.

THEY SHOW THE WWF HISTORY VIDEO AGAIN :mark:

In the back, Flair and Arn meet, and without words, they shake hands and hug. YES! YES! YES!

sd1e.gif

Vince McMahon comes down to the ring with his lawyers, Vince denies that any public humiliation is forthcoming. He makes sure to thoroughly trash Flair. He points out that there’s a clause in the contract that says that he is prohibited from bringing in the NWO. Flair doesn’t even get his entrance music. And Vince promised no public humiliation. If you can’t trust Vince McMahon, who can you trust? :lmao Vince bullies him into sitting down again. Flair teases the signing as long as possible, but Steve Austin interrupts. He calls Vince a miserable piece of trash and IF YA THINK RIC FLAIR SHOULD RIP THIS UP AND TELL VINCE AND THE NWO TO GO TO HELL GIVE ME A HELL YEAH. Vince swings at Flair, but he ducks and punches Vince! Austin hits Vince with the Stunner, and Flair rips up the contract. SWERVE!

Pretty much agree with you on the rumble, it had a slow start, but from the mid-point onwards progressed into a very good wrestling show, with Jericho/Rock taking MOTN honors, but also a very entertaing and unpredictable rumble (that doesn't happen much now), Regal power of the Punch stuff was gold!

Also liked the hype going into the show, with the videos for the likes of Goldust and Perfect, really gave their returns and the rumble a special feeling.

Stacy was at how hottest (in more than one way) during this year, very entertaining and blows any current WWE Diva out of the water.

Vince NWO stuff was silly.

Ric Flair says he's had second thoughts all weekend but stands by his decision, and says if Vince does inject the poison of the NWO, there will be a large problem.

Triple H comes out to open the show, He says on Smackdown; Kurt screwed with the wrong guy and didn't get the job done, etc. He calls out Kurt Angle, but Booker T comes out instead. Booker says he's going to beat Triple H's ass two weeks in a row.

Triple H vs. Booker T
This was okay for 3 minutes. Nothing special Booker was good on offense and Triple H sold the beating well but I’ve noticed a pattern with his face comeback, he's been doing the spinebuster, choke takedown and gets a facebuster. Then finishes it a Pedigree. Anyway as the ref is about to count to 3 Kurt runs down to attack him for a DQ. Post-Match: Kurt Angle hits Triple H with the Angle Slam and leaves. *1/2

Backstage Triple H demands to know where Kurt is, and the ref says he saw him in Vince's office.

Meanwhile, Billy & Chucky invade the girl’s locker room to show off the Billy & Chuck Calendar. They say it blows all the Divas photos away. Torrie and Stacy say they could do these poses way better, and a pose-down is made for this Thursday on Smackdown. Elsewhere Triple H finds armed guards in front of Vince's office, and Kurt Angle pops his head out. He says he just got through talking to Vince, and at No Way Out, its Kurt vs. Triple H, with H's Mania title shot on the line.

Rob Van Dam vs. Bubba Ray Dudley (w/ D-Von Dudley & Stacy Keibler)
The first few minutes was a whole bunch of nothing until Stacey gets on the ring apron and D-von attempts the "WAZZZUP!" but the ref catches him and the ref then throws both Stacey and D-Von out. Thankfully they clean it up and have a decent match. RVD wins with the Five Star Frog Splash. Post-Match: RVD celebrates, and a Goldust promo came up on the screen. He said RVD is his rising star, but his dreams are about to be shattered, he then attacks him and gives him the Shattered dreams to the dick. *1/2

In the back, Triple H is pissed while Steph just sits and smiles. He wants to know why she's so happy and she says she has a life changing surprise and she's going to announce it later.

In the back, Taker tells Michael Cole how Rock disrespected him and Jericho comes up and says if he has any trouble tonight teaching Rock and Austin about respect, The Champ has his back.

WWF Elimination Match for the WWF Tag Team Championship: Spike Dudley & Tazz vs. The APA vs. Billy & Chuck
This was alright when Taz was throwing people around and when Spike was getting beating up by B&C. I was happy that APA was rarely in the match because they've been really bad in the ring for the past 2 years. The finish happens when Billy hit Bradshaw with the Fameasser to eliminate him. Then 20 seconds later Spike quickly finishes Billy with the Acid Drop after JBL trips Billy up. *3/4

Vince McMahon comes out and calls out Ric Flair to explain his change of heart on Smackdown, and Ric Flair comes down. Vince says he thinks it's because Ric was selfish and wanted to stay in the spotlight some more, and Ric says no, and says it also wasn't because of Austin. He says it was because of the fans, and Vince shows Hogan, Hall, and Nash on the Titantron and says these men are now coming and there will be NO WAY OUT.

Patterson, Briscoe, and Arn talk about the NWO, and Arn says he knows first-hand that the NWO sucks and are poison, and he thinks Flair made the wrong call.

WWF Intercontinental Championship: William Regal vs. Rikishi
Regal being a brutal with his strikes was great here. The finish happens when Regal dodges the Bonzai Drop, and gets the knucks on, but Edge runs down and Spears Regal for the DQ. Post-Match: A bunch of referees run down to pull Edge away from Regal and to the back, and Rikishi hits Regal with the Stink Face. **1/4

DDP is at WWF NEW YORK and some male fan comes up and hugs him. Elsewhere The Rock challenges The Undertaker to a match at No Way Out, and again mentions that Maven threw Taker out.

Stephanie comes out for the big surprise. He comes out annoyed and says next week on Raw; they're going to renew their wedding vows. He says no, and she goes on a rant about proving their love. He asks why this has to be on TV and asks why everything has to be so public with the McMahons, :lmao She starts to cry and says it's to prove to the people that he loves her, and he snaps and says it's not all about her, and again says no. She says she's pregnant and he stops from leaving. She says that's why she's been so moody and stuff, and he runs and hugs her, and they kiss. The crowd chants “bullshitâ€￾ as they leave.

WWF Women's Championship: Trish Stratus vs. Jazz
This was really fun, Jazz looked good for the first time and Trish's comeback before the finish was solid. The finish happens when the Trishdog is reversed into a backdrop suplex and the fisherman Jazz then pins her. *1/4

Stone Cold Steve Austin & The Rock vs. Chris Jericho & The Undertaker
The should of been so much better, IDK if it was an off night between the four or if they didn't want to take it out of second gear. All for men got their shit in at times but this really had no direction of what they wanted to accomplish. Oh and my tape cuts off during MID MATCH, FUCK YOU!!!!

The Rock comes out in his gear and says he knows Taker has a match vs. Maven tonight, but he's calling him out, and instead Booker T comes out. And he says he can't stand cry people with big egos. Rock then challenges him and Booker comes down to accept.

The Rock vs. Booker T
Solid TV opener, it wasn't good/great but it wasn't bad either. The Rock wins with the people Elbow. **1/4

Stephanie and Triple H talk to the doctor and they see the sonogram. The Doc lets us know that Stephanie is 8 weeks along.

A promo for the NWO airs

Kurt Angle comes down with an empty baby stroller. Angle gloats about how he’ll easily beat HHH at No Way Out. Kurt feels badly for the poor kid, having to go through life with HHH as a father. He does his knuckle-dragging HHH impression, theorizing that HHH has in fact turned into an ape-man. He produces “HHH, Jr.â€￾, a toy gorilla with a huge nose on it. :lmao Triple H comes down and runs off Kurt.

sd1a.gif

Edge, Rob Van Dam & Rikishi vs. William Regal & The Dudley Boyz
Good energetic little six-man match that I wish got more time. Post-match: Edge attacked Regal on the ramp. The Dudleyz pulled him back, and Regal hit him in the gut with the brass knucks. Regal then put him in the Regal Stretch on the ramp until he was pulled off. **1/4

A promo for the NWO airs

Chris Jericho comes out and calls out Austin to prove before No Way Out that he's better. Will Sasso from MAD TV comes out dressed as Austin and does a bad impression, and the real Austin comes out and Jericho flees to the floor. He berates Sasso and Jericho tries a sneak attack, but Austin runs him off and hits Sasso with the Stunner.

Backstage Al Snow gives Maven a pep talk. Elsewhere Flair stops Jericho and says tonight, it's going to be Jericho vs. Triple H in a non-title match.

WWF Hardcore Championship: The Undertaker vs. Maven (w/ Al Snow)
Taker beats the crap out of Maven, until Snow simply pulls him away from the line of fire. UT chases him out and keeps destroying him. Back in, more garbage cannery busts Maven open and the Poochiebomb looks to finish, but Snow comes in and bells Taker, giving Maven a rollup for two. Maven goes up but gets caught and casually chokeslammed, for two. Dragon Sleeper, but Rock comes in, chairs Taker, and Rock Bottoms him, as Maven crawls over for the pin. HOLY SHIT!. **

Billy & Chuck actually have matching bathrobes for their entrance. Torrie and Stacy win the unveiling portion. Billy & Chuck do some really creepy and weird feminine poses, which work much better when done by Torrie & Stacy. Shocking, I know. Stacy and Torrie get into a catfight, but it’s immediately cut.

Elsewhere, Triple H in Vince McMahon's faced and reviews the last few weeks. He’s upset about lots of things, but Stephanie wants Vince to walk her down the aisle, so what can ya do? Triple H decides to make sure Vince never gets anywhere near the little the baby, so Vince makes it a handicap match tonight.

Rock is just about to leave the arena but coach catches him for a promo, then out of nowhere The Undertaker interrupts a Rock interview and tombstones him on top of a limo.

sd1d.gif

Chris Jericho & Kurt Angle vs. Triple H
This was pretty boring. But the booking was too much Triple H getting his offense in, the match ended when A chair shot misses, but the Angle Slam finishes Triple H. Post-Match: Triple H of course makes his own comeback and lays both guys out with a chair. But while He & Steph hug, Angle lays out HHH in turn, and he falls on top of her. OH SHIT! *1/2
