WWE Champion: Eddie Guererro
WWE United States Champion: John Cena
WWE Tag Team Champions: Scotty II Hotty & Rikishi
WWE Cruiserweight Champion: Chavo Guererro Jr.

WWE Smackdown
April 1st, 2004
Columbus, Ohio

GM Kurt Angle comes down to the ring, he says tonight he is looking for someone special, someone to step up and take charge. Be a role model just like him, what he's looking for is a "GREAT AMERICAN" he unveils a giant trophy called the "Kurt Angle Great American Reward" He says whoever wins this award and obviously Eddie Guererro doesn't qualify. He says the only reason Eddie doesn't qualify is because the winner becomes Number 1# contender for the WWE Championship. Kurt says he has put together a series of matches and the winners are in the race to see who qualifies to be nominated for the award.

The Kurt Angle Great American Reward Nominee Match: The Big Show vs. Rikishi
This is hilariously good but in a shockingly good way, it's all big show to start like he gets a good 3-minute straight on offense in until he makes the mistake of headbutting a Samoan, so he hurts his head and that allows Rikiishi to make a brief comeback. He goes for the stinkface but Show shoves him off and hits the chokeslam for the win. *3/4

Earlier Today; An all-white limo with LONGHORNS pulls up. IT'S JOHN BRADSHAW LAYFIELD! JBL tells the limo driver that they have traffic laws in America, and he speaks in Spanish at him. JBL offers a free piece of advice and says to learn the language and not to speak Mexican or Spanish or whatever. He says there's tons of opportunities here and he just has to work hard like he did. He pats him on the back and says he'll be fine before walking off.

Rey Mysterio & Spike Dudley vs. Chavo Guerrero Jr. & Chavo Guererro Sr
OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! CHAVO! make's its official debut :mark: Chavo Classic continues to outshine his son as a wrestler and a heel, he obviously can't hang with the young guys so he just resorts to cheating all the time, or distracting the ref so Jr can do some offense. They briefly iso Rey for like a minute, it feels like filler until Spike has a quality hot tag. He cleans house and sets Classic up for a Rey 619 but Jr. takes him out, that allows Spike to hit the Dudley Dogg running up classic's chest and hitting the move for the win. **

After the match; JBL runs out and attacks Rey and Spike from behind, he hits Rey with a powerbomb before leaving.

The Kurt Angle Great American Reward Nominee Match: Rob Van Dam vs. Charlie Haas
A lot like last week as Haas works the knee very viciously and it's pretty great. But it's RVD so he continues to use the injured leg as offense before just no selling it and going right into his signature shit. RVD goes for a dive but Haas has a chair and gets it up right in front of the ref which he just allows :lmao both men then get counted out because looool. After the match; GM Kurt Angle comes out, he says that won't cut it and the next logical decision was to see who had more points.....................HE PICKS CHARLIE HAAS! *3/4

Backstage: Booker and Kurt are talking, Kurt says Book is a prime time player and wants to know what he can do to make him happy. Booker says he wants RESPECT! Just because he tells the truth. Kurt says he agrees because of his passion and will make a great WWE Champion. He puts Booker in the KGGARNM against Hardcore Holly.

Apparently, WWE won some legacy of hope award.

The Kurt Angle Great American Reward Nominee Match: Booker T vs. Hardcore Holly
JESUS CHRIST! Hardcore is so bad, his tough guy offense that he's been using since the 90's is so outdated and washed. He doesn't sell and now he's added he's too tough to take bumps. And you can only gets two moves or 2 strikes before i hit back BECAUSE I DON'T QUIT! Fuckin' Hardcore dominates for a good 5 minutes on the mat and working the arm, Booker begins rolling with it then is like fuck this and just stops selling. He begins working Hardcore's previously broken neck. Cole and Taz pretty much bicker the whole time about Booker not wanting to be on SD. It's all awful. might be worse than 2002 RAW. HOLY SHIT! This is like 13 minutes, 16 if I count the commercial. The match begins getting really sloppy towards the end, Booker schoolboys Holly and grabs a hold of the tights for the win. YEAH! Because your top heel can't beat Hardcore clean SMH! **

Also, Justin Roberts is ring announcing on the show, trying way too hard. Rolling all the R's and stretching out all the surnames. UGH!

The Dudley Boyz vs. Akio & Sakoda
This is fine, Akio and Sakoda have a nice showing, best showing to date. Bubba really gives them a lot on offense. Unfortunately, they get beat with a 3D. **1/4

Backstage: The Dudleyz go to check up on Spike when T. Long comes in, he says it's a fresh start here on Smackdown. He tries to get him to join him by handing out his card to the Dudleyz but says Spike's is in the mail.

RAW REBOUND!

In the parking lot; Eddie Guererro arrives in his low rider. He begins talking with JBL limo driver. Eddie looks pissed and keeps walking.

Rene Dupree and FiFi join commentary. TAZ tries to interview FiFi but keeps calling her SiFi.

The Kurt Angle Great American Reward Nominee Match: John Cena vs. Nunzio & Johnny Stamboli
Basic Cena showcase, Nunzio takes two insane bumps to the floor taking him out allowing Cena to hit the FU on Stamboli for the win.

Backstage: Kurt tells a backstage worker to tell Eddie he wants to see him in the ring, NEXT!

Kurt Angle is in the ring, with the trophy. He says he's impressed with the locker room tonight. He says Triple H wouldn't have made it 5 seconds on here. He says the winner of the KAGAR will be announced next week. He says the fans get to vote for the winner just go to wwe.com. Kurt says the more Eddie, lies, cheats and disgraces America. Eddie Guerrero comes out and takes the mic from Kurt. He challenges Kurt to fight him if he's such a threat. Kurt says he's someone Eddie will never be. RESPONSIBLE! Kurt then introduces the 5th man in the Great American Reward Nominee. JOHN BRADSHAW LAYFIELD! The limo comes out and JBL comes out of the roof. JBL says it's an honor, and he's sure he's a shoe-in to represent America. He cuts a promo about how he personifies America, because he made money, moved to New York, and now makes more money in a week than most in a year. JBL then turns his attention to Eddie, he says last week was nothing personal, it's just business. Just making an impact. What he did tonight was just about making an impact. He says Eddie has something he wants, Not his car, I RIDE IN THE BACK! And what he wants, he gets. You can call it a hostile takeover or whatever, but it's gonna be his. Eddie says he'll make it personal, Eddie leaves the ring and goes after JBL in the limo. He grabs JBL's hat. He takes it to the ring and JBL yells that it's a $1000 hot, calling him a Latino thief. JBL says he would come get it if he wasn't in a $3000 suit. Eddie threatens to have fans pour stuff in it, but first, he rubs it on his ass. He has fans pour stuff in it, and Eddie stomps on the hat just because.

WWE Monday Night RAW
April 5th, 2004
Houston, Texas

Recap of Shelton/Triple H from last week.

Tonight: Divas' Battle Royal for the #1 Contendership.

Triple H comes out, even before his music hits :lmao he comes down to the ring and grabs a mic. He says it makes for a great story, an amazing story some young punk kid comes over from smackdown. And in his first match, LIVE ON RAW! This young punk gets the lucky break. And wins. He gets his hand raised. It's a great story, but the fact is this is reality and that was a fluke. IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN IN A MILLION YEARS! Just like Chris Benoit walking out of Backlash with the world championship. He says Benoit is starting to feel the pressure of being the guy, he says he knows how he feels not having to get beat to lose your championship. He says the odds of winning two triple threat matches are high, they're astronomical when an icon like Shawn Michaels is in both of them, and when Triple H is the third man, it's impossible. Shelton Benjamin comes out with his awful pre-AIN'T NO STOPPING ME NOW! Music. Shelton comes down to the ring and says he just wanted to come out and introduce himself to him. He's that young punk kid from smackdown................ I'm the guy that beat you last week. Shelton says maybe last week was a fluke and he can't live with that, so he challenges him to a rematch tonight. Hunter laughs him off and refuses, saying he's doing him a favor because he can make a career off of getting lucky last week. Shelton says he understands, it'd sure suck to get beaten TWICE by a young punk kid. Hunter says he's tired of this and accepts. Shelton says after tonight, he can call him Mr. Benjamin.

RAW Tour highlights from Mexico.

Chris Benoit vs. Robert Conway (w/Sylvan Granier) [Special Referee: Johnny Nitro]
So La Resistance is now no longer French, they are from Quebec city. Johnny Nitro coming out to the Nitro music on RAW is lowkey awesome. Apparently, Eric has told Benoit if he lays a finger on Nitro Benoit would be stripped of the title. Benoit does what he can, it's a total waste of the greatest wrestler of all time, time. Conway works Benoit's neck briefly before Benoit makes a Benoit comeback. He takes out Ref Nitro by suplexing Rob into him. With the ref out La Resistance double team him, they debut the swinging neck breaker-Side slam combo but Benoit kicks out at two with a 2nd ref out. Benoit manages to recover and lock in the crossface for the win. **

Backstage: William Regal is BACK! He walks into Eric's office. Regal says he's glad to be back, Eric says he's not back unless he's willing to do a special assignment. Regal accepts. Eric says he brought him here to manage a wrestler, a very special talent his nephew and he promised his sister that he'd give him a contract, so now Eugene Dinsmore works for Raw. Eric says he's in the building, and Regal says he'll make the boy a star. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Chris Jericho vs. Matt Hardy
Mattitude.com, Matt has broken his nose 3 times & Matt never over orders in restaurants. Christian and Trish come out, they have a recliner and set it up at the top of the ramp. Trish sits on the side bit and not on Christian's lap SMH! That distraction allows Matt to attack Jericho from behind. This is really fun, but it's short. The good thing is nothing is wasted and everything is hit clean. They pretty much go back and forth for the entire 3 minutes, beautiful counters and near falls until Jericho locks in the walls of Jericho for the win. **1/2

After the match; Trish and Christian "kiss" even though their backs are towards the camera.

Ric Flair is in the ring and is the special guest ring announcer. Flair says if anybody gets involved in this match that is not officially supposed to be out here is DONE! He then introduces the official timekeeper. BATISTA! Official ring trainer, RANDY ORTON! Orton comes out with a bar stool and spit bucket :lmao

Triple H vs. Shelton Benjamin
This is about 6 minutes, granted it's more of an angle match but still fun as shit. Both men have chemistry and they play off some of the spots from last week. Shelton keeps trying to end it early as the numbers odds are against him. He hits 3 quick near falls until Hunter hits a spine buster. Triple keeps throwing Shelton to the floor where Orton and Batista take turns beating him up. But Shelton keeps getting in at 8 or 9. Shelton takes a nasty bump neck first into the barricades but he rolls in at 9. Shelton hits a desperation dragon leg whip and hits the stinger splash which knocks Hunter to the floor. Shelton follows him to the floor and counters the pedigree by catapulting Hunter into the ring post. Shelton slides back in at 9 and Hunter is counted out. **3/4

After the Match; Evolution surrounds the ring before they all attack for the EVOLUTION BEAT DOWN :mark: Hunter hits the pedigree and keeps punching away at him until Shelton gets busted open. They leave him bloody and beaten down in the ring. They keep it up until Benoit, Michaels, and Foley run out to save.

FUCK YEAH! Evolution beatdown and another real dope 2004 beatdown.

Eric joins commentary and says Shawn, Benoit, and Foley will find out their punishment for disobeying him.

Number #1 battel Royal Match for the WWE Woman's Championship match at Backlash
Lita, Molly, Nidia, Stacy, Gail Kim, Trish, Jazz all come out. WE THEN TAKE A COMMERCIAL AND IT'S MISSING 90'S OF THE MATCH! Only Jaz, Lita and Trish are left AHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA! Lita then kicks Jazz out. Lita and Trish do some stuff it's pretty bad, Jericho comes out to watch on, the refs are distracted with Jazz so Jericho trips Lita up which allows Lita to dropkick Trish to the floor.

SMACKDOWN REBOUND!

Backstage: William Regal is looking for Eugene, he walks over but it's Garrison Cade. He then meets the blueberry! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Coachman joins commentary.

Backstage: Christian tells Trish at Backlash it will be Christian and Trich vs. Jericho.

Tajiri vs. Christian
Another fun little sprint, Christian is his usual vicious self and Tajiri has some nice kicks along with bumping. Coach leaves commentary as Tajiri makes his comeback. Coach trips Tajiri's leg allowing Tajiri to hit the unpreittier for the win. **

BACKLASH HYPE
EDGE/KANE
Foley/Orton
Victoria/Lita
Jericho/Trish&Christian
Michaels/Hunter/Benoit

Backstage: William Regal barges into Eric's office saying he's been played. He's a window licker. Eric says if Regal wants a job back on RAW he better do it. Eric says you can't leave Eugene alone, Regal says he's fine. Eric says he wants to see him so when he opens the door Eugene is gone. Nitro says Eugene is on TV.

Eugene is with JR and Lawler, Lawler begins licking Lawler's face until Regal makes the save. UGH!

KANE vs. Rhyno
Far from their 2001 goodness, KANE targets Rhyno's shoulder like 4 seconds in and to my surprise Rhyno does a great job selling. BUT FUCK IT! RHYNO BREAKS THE MIDDLE ROPE BY HITTING IT WITH AN IRISH WHIP. He hits a rebound GORE! but only gets two. He goes for it again, but Kane gets to boot up and hits a chokeslam for the win. After the match; Edge comes out who now has a broken hand. He and Kane brawl for a bit but when Kane leaves to get a chair Edge hits him with a spear before he can use it. BUT KANE SITS UP! He boots Edge in the face and tries to break Edge's other hand but Edge avoids and uses the cast to knock Kane out. Well. he did for about 3 seconds.

Benoit and Shawn, are talking about how Eric wants to see them. Shawn makes jokes but says last week was AWESOME! and he has his back but Backlash he's coming at him. Foley comes over with barbie and says tonight they must be on the same page. Nitro comes over and tells Foley Eric says no weapons so he takes the bat.

Eric Bischoff marches down to the ring and calls out Benoit, Foley, and Michaels. He says he's gonna make this short and sweet the 3 of them will team up with Shelton Benjamin to take on all 4 members of EVOLUTION! Evolution's music hits but Only Triple H comes out with a sledgehammer. HE IS LOOKING JACKED AF! He motions for the rest of Evolution to come from the back but IT'S A SETUP! They come through the crowd and it's a 4-3 beating. Hunter hits Shawn in the back with the hammer as Flair and Hunter beat on Benoit while Batista and Orton beat on Foley on the floor. Hunter hits Benoit in the back with a chair, before hitting a Pedigree onto the chair. Orton hits Foley with an RKO on the floor. EVOLUTION IS MYSTERY!

WWE Champion: Eddie Guererro
WWE United States Champion: John Cena
WWE Tag Team Champions: Scotty II Hotty & Rikishi
WWE Cruiserweight Champion: Chavo Guererro Jr.

WWE Smackdown
April 8th, 2004
San Antonio, Texas

Tonight: RVD/Booker T vs. Haas/Big Show

John Bradshaw Layfield comes out with Limo, and he has a new cowboy hat. He then has his limo clean the hood of his car before heading down to the ring. The crowd begins booooo'ing him and he says looking around he can see why he left and went to New York City. He says he's going to win the award tonight and will prove why he deserves it tonight. He says he understands $1000 is a lot of money for them. He tells the fans there's nothing wrong with being poor, and it's usually a sign of bad education, but you can work your way out of it like he did. He says his hat was $1000, but to him, that's front pocket money, and he'll prove it. He says a volunteer from the crowd can earn $1000 by waxing the hood of his limo in 60 seconds. He says it's typical that now they cheer him now that he's handing out money.

JBL picks out a fan in an Eddie tee and says cross the barriers, I know you're used to crossing borders :lmao

The fan says his name is Enrique. JBL says he should go by Ricky, this is the united states. They walk to the limo an JBL has a clock put up to time 1:00, saying if they had technology like this on the border, they wouldn't have some of these problems. He also keeps calling him Ricky, which is hilarious. He says he wants it just like Ricky, spic, and span. He almost does it, but JBL pours more wax on with 10 seconds left, the time runs out and JBL says don't touch him but he was so close. JBL says he had a little mishap, but sometimes mishaps in life define a man, like when he played football on a bad leg, and he made All American. He says maybe he should give him the money, but that was a half-assed job, and this is the problem with society. You can't look to people like him for a handout when you do a poor job of something, and JBL tells him to enjoy the show. He says people like you should strive to be like him. JBL, a Great American.

HOLY FUCK JBL IS THE GREATEST!

The Dudley Boyz vs. Scotty II Hotty & Rikishi
FUCKING YAWN! Rikishi provides nothing but at least Dick Bubba is here just being a dick to spike during his 22 second heat period. Dudleyz end up hitting the 3D on him for the win.

Backstage: Charlie Haas is with Kurt Angle, he claims he's better than Shelton, but Kurt says he did beat Triple H on RAW. Haas begins to freak out about what if he isn't better than Shelton, he needs this. Kurt says if he takes it to RVD and Booker like he knows he can. He could win this award. The Big Show comes in and tells him HE WILL WIN THAT AWARD!

Rico & Jackie are coming to Smackdown. UGH!

So apparently, A-Train and Chuck were traded to RAW for Rico and Jackie, WTF! THANKS FOR TELLING ME WWE!

WWE Cruiserweight Championship: Chavo Guererro Jr. (w/Chavo Guererro Sr.) vs. Jamie Noble
OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHH CHAVO :mark: Noble now has proper attire, no more jean shorts. Awesome mat wrestling to start, crip and clean counters. I think Noble is the default babyface here cause he's busting out all this new shit i haven't seen yet and wouldn't until 2005 in ROH. Chavo Classic distracts Noble allowing Jr. to attack him from behind and take over, he begins working the lower back well tries to but Noble keeps cutting him off before he can get started. Noble hits some AWESOME near falls Chavo manages to use Noble own momentum against him countered a Victory Roll Owen/Bret-style, he then holds the ropes for the win. **3/4

Backstage: T.Long goes over to OJ, Shannon Moore, and Spike. He presents them cards, saying Orlando Jordan has the perfect body that he wants, and Shannon Moore has that great face that's marketable, and Spike has...well, nothing. Spike says he may not have what they have, but he knows he can whop HIS ASS! Long accuses him of drinking haterade for challenging a businessman. Spike calls him yellow, and Long accepts.

Backstage: RVD and Booker are talking, Booker asks if he really wanna do this. He says they had a good thing on RAW. Respect not like on SD. RVD says they will do the same thing here. Booker says RVD got robbed everyone saw it he says they have to look out for themselves. RVD says he has his back.

CENA comes out and cuts this awful basic dumbed down RAP! He continues to ruin the DEEZ NUTS line.

Danny Basham (w/Doug Basham) vs. John Cena
Basic Cena squash. MEH!

Rob Van Dam & Booker T vs. Charlie Haas & The Big Show
This is weird, it's clearly an angle match but gets like 10 minutes. Booker never gets in, as at first, it seems like something would draw his attention away just before RVD can make a tag. The first time was Haas trying to knock him off the apron, the 2nd was he just wanted to talk shit too Big Show. He would eventually just jump off the apron and walk to the back saying I told you I didn't wanna do this. So basically it's a 2-1 handicap match, Show maybe gets like 2 minutes tops of ring action so it's basically Haas/RVD III just minus the great legwork which doesn't ever become a factor. Show hit the Chokeslam on RVD and Haas covered to win. **

Backstage: RVD is doing his hilarious angry face as Kurt denies knowing that Booker was gonna walk out on him. Kurt then makes the match Booker T vs. RVD next week.

Rene Dupree (w/FiFi) vs. Orlando Jordan
Rene showcase. TRASH!

tuLU9Tj.gif

BRAH! THIS SHIT CAUGHT ME OFF GUARD LOL
Backstage: Kurt Angle tells a backstage worker to grab Eddie Guerrero and bring him to his office.

Cole and Tazz show the fan voting on the award, and John Cena has more votes than the other 4 combined.

RAW REBOUND!

Backstage: Eddie comes in. He sizes up the trophy before Kurt has people take it away, and Eddie says it's not like he'd ruin the trophy. Kurt says he knows how much Eddie loves to defend the title, but that won't happen tonight. Kurt says his job is to present the award tonight, and Eddie doesn't qualify. He says he has the night off, and he wants him out right now.

Theodore R. Long comes out he's wearing all back, with bocking knee and arm pads along with a headgear :lmao Spike then comes out. Long says Spike needs a warm-up match before he puts these hands on him.

Spike Dudley vs. Johnny Stamboli
MEH!

Spike goes to fight Long now, but Mark Jindrak attacks Spike from behind. He hits this super dope Rock Bottom/STO type move and celebrates by having T.Long jump into his arms.

GM Kurt Angles comes out, he introduces the nominees, Cena, Haas, Booker T, Big Show, & JBL. Kurt brings up the polls on wwe.com, he points out the fan vote is overwhelmingly for Cena, and therefore.............THE WINNER.................JBL THEN CUTS HIM OFF AND SAYS HE WAS A BUSY MAN LAST NIGHT AND SHOWS THIS!

BRAH!

Kurt is convinced and awards JBL as the winner of the Kurt Angle Great American Award Winner, and is #1 Contender! Everyone leaves as JBL celebrates. He unveils the trophy, but it's been replaced with rosary beads and a picture of Eddie Guerrero. JBL demands that Latino thief bring his trophy back, and Kurt demands he come out. Eddie Guerrero drives out with the trophy on his hood. They demand he brings it in, and Eddie claims he found it in the parking lot homes. He begins to admire it and breaks off one of the eagle's wings on "accident". He hands the broken wing to JBL and says eagles can fly with one win. He then hits JBL with the trophy and runs them both off. Eddie brings in a chair and destroys the trophy to end SD.

When you look at all the different roles Teddy has played throughout his career, and all very well, he has to be one of the most valuable employees for the top companies. I loved his limo shit with Flair in NWA/WCW.

WWE Monday Night RAW
April 12th, 2004
Allstate Arena: Chicago, Illinois

Backstage: Shelton is raging in Eric's office, he says Eric has no idea what it feels like to be laying in a pool of your own blood helpless to stop the beating. He says he has 15 staples in his head and Eric has done nothing about it. Nitro tells him to get used to it, so Shelton tells him to say another word and he'll use Barbie as an ENEMA! Shawn and Benoit come in and get him to calm down, Benoit says they have Evolution tonight.

Mick Foley and Barbie come down to the ring, he says thank goodness barbie is back home. He says he knows he has to give barbie up tonight in the 8-Man and knows he will be restricted by some rules, but that's okay cause he wants to leave a little of Orton for Backlash. And it's okay because this is my first RAW match in 5 years and I've got 3 of the best tag partners a man could ask for. Foley says he's got no problems, but at Backlash he does have a problem. He's looking forward to all things he's gonna do to Randy, but that's not the person I wanna be. Foley says he doesn't comfortable ending one of the future stars here in the WWE........................BUT HE KNOWS SOMEBODY THAT WOULD! HIS NAME IS CACTUS JACK! As he's talking, Orton sneaks down with a chair and tries to ambush him, but Foley knocks it out of his hands with Barbie and Orton bails in fear.

Tonight: Evolution vs. Benoit/Foley/Shelton/Michaels

KANE vs. Grandmaster Sexay
2 and a half year absent DEAD! Pretty much one of those horror movies in a wrestling match, Sexay avoids and stick and moves, but Kane won't stay down. Finally, KANE gets his hands on him, hits all his usual moves before ending it with a chokeslam.

Backstage: Trish is getting makeup put on while ranting to the makeup lady. Eugene walks by and calls her Slut, as her name. Regal leads him off and apologizes. Trish is upset and Christian walks by and says this is Jericho's fault, which is why they're going to embarrass him at Backlash. Christian says he will do all the work, and all she has to do is tag in and cover 1.2.3.

coach brings out a ninja, and he says if Tajiri can beat this ninja, he can fight him at Backlash.

Ninja AKA Al Snow (w/Coachman) vs. Tajiri
TRASH! Tajiri sadly wins so now we have to see Tajiri vs. Coach on PPV.

Backstage: Flair is talking with Eric, he says this Shelton thing is getting out of control and asks for a match against him at Backlash. Eric says it's done. Flair goes to leave but Shelton jumps him from behind, he tries to bust him open with punches but refs come over and pull him off.

In a pre-tape; Triple H says people say the triple threat is one of the greatest matches of all time, well at backlash it will become the rematch of all time. He says, everyone has something to prove Benoit, that it wasn't a fluke and he's no one-hit wonder. Shawn, that he is still the icon who hasn't lost a step. And Triple H, that that title will always belong to him.

The Highlight Reel is set up in the ring, Chris Jericho makes his way out. Jericho says Backlash is the match is wanted, he finally gets to put his hands on CLB and the FDDBRTH. Jericho says he knows Trish is nervous about this match, but it's not the first time she's been in action with two guys. Jericho says rough and begins barking like a dog. He then shows the 2000 footage of Vince making her walk on her knees like a DOG! He says once a bitch, always a bitch. Jericho then moves on to his guest tonight. LITA! Lita comes out but Trish attacks her from behind, he rams her head first into the steel tron until refs break it up. Eric then comes out and makes the match of Lita vs. Trish, NEXT!

Lita (w/Chris Jericho) vs. Trish Stratus (w/Christian)
An extended version of last weeks match, I've never been a big fan of these two in matches against one another. Everything feels rushed.Trish targets Lita's neck with headlocks and side headlocks. Lita doesn't sell at all and her comeback is god awful, IDK if she's going over the moves in her head but it doesn't feel natural at all. Very sloppy strikes, during her comeback. She hits this hilarious half-ass dive to the floor. She then slaps Christian who viciously throws her into the barricades for the DQ. After the match; Jericho and Christian have this great mini-fight that Jericho wins. That leaves Jericho in the ring with Trish who tries to lock her into the Walls but Christian makes the save. He throws Jericho into the ringpost and holds him up so Trish can slap him. Christian hits the unprettier, but Jericho won't stay down so he hits another. Again Jericho gets up so Trish hits the Trish Kick finally putting Jericho down. Match was ASS! But that's another really good 2004 beatdown.

La Resistance cut one of their anti-America promos, Eugene comes over and begins messing with the Quebec flag.

Johnny Nitro comes out, he says as Eric's apprentice he has a statement. He says 3 weeks ago Eric was attacked by Edge. So Eric made the match of EDGE vs. KANE at Backlash. Nitro calls Edge out and says he has something to say to his face. Edge comes out, Nitro says Edge thinks he has it all figured out with this "FAKE INJURY" he claims his injury is real. Nitro says if the ref catches him using that cast not only will he lose, but he will be suspended too. Edge grabs the mic and says he hasn't been in the ring for a year and nothing will stop him. NOT A BROKEN NECK, BROKEN WRIST OR YOU JOHNNY JACKASS! Edge says he will win this Sunday, Edge says to give Eric this message from him. SPEAR! He then spears Nitro.

Sylvan Granier (w/Rob Conway) vs. The Hurricane (w/Rosey)
This is trash, they do stuff until Eugene comes out with a teddy bear, he tries to hand it to Conway who tells him to go to the back. He then hands it so Sylvan who rips the head off. That allows The Hurricane to hit a swinging neckbreaker for the win.

In a pre-tape, Shawn Michaels says he walks the street all people ask him is who is he gonna top the 3-way. Shawn says he's the showstoppa, he will top it because he is the very best. He says its time to separate fact from fiction, and only 1 man can walk out as World Champion.

SMACKDOWN REBOUND!

Awesome Cactus Jack/Mick Foley video package airs. In the back, Orton is watching in fear.

In a pre-tape; Benoit says Mania was special and has heard everything. Chris, you got lucky, it won't happen again. Benoit says he doesn't believe in luck. Hard work pays off, he says he will walk away as world champion. And luck will have nothing to do with it.

8 Man Tag Team Match: Chris Benoit, Shelton Benjamin, Shawn Michaels & Mick Foley vs. Evolution
Foley wrestling in jeans is just weird. But nevermind that Evolution debut the golden shower entrance :mark: HOLY FUCKIN SHIT I FORGOT HOW AMAZING THIS MATCH IS, I've only ever seen this 1 other time and that was when it first aired in 2004. I remember loving it as a kid and it still holds up 14 years later. Flair is so on here, he's bumping, selling and taking a beating like this is 80's Flair. Flair vs.Shawn, Foley, and Benoit all ruled as shit. I like that they didn't have Shelton come in as they're saving it for the PPV. The crowd pop for Benoit/Hunter is awesome, and they totally uphold their end. They have a struggle trying to hit moves, but it totally seems real with both men just fighting one another. The match breaks down, with the faces cleaning the ring, which allows Shawn to plancha dive onto a regrouping Evolution. When we return, Evolution are in control and now have Benoit isolated. Batista, Flair, and Hunter all get their licks in, Flair continues to shine as he just trash talks Shelton or takes cheap shots at him once he's worn Benoit down. Again, Benoit/Flair is vicious as is Foley/Flair. Shelton has a nice hot tag on Flair but Hunter pulls down the ropes sending Shelton to the floor. He follows up behind the refs back by sending him into the steps rolling him back in for a waiting Flair. Shelton's iso period is great, all 4 viciously work the head all taking shots at it, by they also have that cocky swagger about them but once it backfires and gives Shelton the opening he needs to make a brief comeback they cut him off and begin wearing him down again. So many good little stories going on, like Triple H, mostly being in cause he wants to punish Shelton, and every time Orton tries to cheat for his team Foley would run across to stop it. Batista continues to look great as a powerhouse, the only downside was Orton rarely being in. Shelton hits a desperation kick and hot tags Shawn in as Batista tags Orton in, Shawn cleans house which leads to a fantastic finishing stretch. Everyone gets in and fights around ringside. Shelton hits the stinger splash on Orton, but as Shawn goes for the superkick Flair comes in so Shawn hits him with it instead. That allows Orton to recover and nail the RKO. But both men are down, Orton finally goes for the cover but it gets broken up by a Benoit diving headbutt. Triple H then comes in and throws him into the ringpost. FUCK YEAH! Triple H/Foley interaction. Hunter goes for the pedigree but Foley backdrops him to the floor. He locks in Mr. Socko to Orton but Batista makes the save. Orton is slow to get to his feet and gets nailed by Sweet Chin Music for the win. AWESOME! FUCKING AWESOME! ****

After the match; Shawn and Benoit face off as Triple H slowly climbs the apron staring at both men.

lol I remember that run, he got like one more match against Christian on RAW and maybe some Heat matches, but that's it. It was probably just a try-out second chance that King convinced them to give him

WWE Champion: Eddie Guererro
WWE United States Champion: John Cena
WWE Tag Team Champions: Scotty II Hotty & Rikishi
WWE Cruiserweight Champion: Chavo Guererro Jr.

WWE Smackdown
April 15th, 2004
Indianapolis, Indiana

Tonight: Booker T vs. Rob Van Dam

Eddie Guererro comes out, he driving this awesome rich blue low rider with blue velvet seats. Eddie says, this whole week he's had 27 phone calls from Kurt Angle demanding he apologizes for ruining the great American reward. Eddie says he doesn't have a problem apologizing, but he does have a problem with JBL calling himself a great American because a great American doesn't rub it in people's faces that he's wealthy. He calls JBL a great American sell-out. He says his money doesn't make him smarter than him, better than him, or classier than him or anyone else in the crowd.............................BUT THIS CUTS HIM OFF MID-PROMO

Eddie says that's just what he's talking about, and that's all he's dealt with, day after day, for the 2 months, he's been champion. He says he's worked really hard to get all he has, and it took him 17 years to get a WWE Title shot, unlike JBL, who was just handed it with a bogus trophy. Eddie challenges him tonight, but GM Kurt Angle comes out instead, Kurt says he doesn't appreciate him and if he wants to lose his title fine, he's got his match. But, suddenly JBL comes out. JBL says he'd love to, but he's been campaigning all week and he's tired. He says he has a better idea and whispers something to Kurt. He says he loves it and books Eddie Guerrero vs. JBL for the WWE Title at Judgment Day. Kurt says that since Eddie wants a fight, he's going to face The Big Show, Tonight!

Backstage: JBL and Kurt are talking, when Show barges in. Show wants to know if his match tonight of for the title. Kurt says JBL has the first title shot, but he needs someone to teach Eddie a lesson. He says he sees that Kurt's handing him everything, and now he's doing dirty work since JBL probably can't beat Eddie and Kurt failed at Mania, but he's actually beaten, Eddie. Kurt says he likes the confidence, so Show says that if he doesn't beat Eddie, he'll quit.

Champion vs. Champion: John Cena vs. Chavo Geuererro Jr. (w/Chavo Guererro Sr.)
Short little showcase for both men, it allows Cena to showoff his mat work which he hasn't done in months. He gets the better of Chavo until Chavo classic nails him in the back with one of his cowboy boots. That allows Chavo to work the back, it looks funny as the size difference between the two is pretty hilarious. Cena keeps powering out of holds so Chavo has to resort to striking, but it's not his game which allows Cena to make a comeback. Cena does his usual comeback and hits the FU for the win. **1/4

Rene Dupree has dinner with Fifi and talks about how beautiful she is. He announces the debut of "CAFE DE RENE" Next Week, with Torrie Wilson as his guest. He says she's not as beautiful as Fifi.

Clips are shown from October 2003 of Big Show choke slamming Eddie on top of Eddie's low rider.

Backstage: Haas is getting ready for his match, Noble comes in and says this is pointless it won't work against Rico. Jamie Noble asks Haas what he would do tonight when Rico starts to look up and down his body and starts to feel him up, and Haas freaks out and leaves.

Charlie Haas vs. Rico (w/Miss Jackie)
Angle match, Haas keeps freaking out due to Rico's suspect offense. Rico kisses him, so Haas bails out to get counted out.

Backstage: JBL thanks Show for doing this tonight, he says he can give him a hot stock tip or a hot pizza whatever he wants :lmao Show says he isn't doing this for him, or Kurt he's doing it for himself.

MORDECAI PROMO~! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

The Big Show vs. Eddie Guererro
So this fuckin rules, Eddie does his best to fight but Show just easily throwing him around totally awesome motivated pissed off offense. Eddie takes some great bumps, he has to resort to his quickness to combat Shows power offense. Before the commercial, Eddie sends Show to the floor and sends him to the ringpost. But when we return Show cuts off Eddie offense and begin working Eddie arm, HOLY SHIT! I've never seen Show work an arm before. It's fucking great, very brutal looking because of the size difference. Eddie yelling out in pain looks so believable, as well as his awesome selling of it. Show work of simply stepping on it, fucking headbutting the bicep or just pulling on it using parts of the ring rules. Eddie has these awesome mini-brief comebacks but Show's cutoff hopes are great. Eddie takes a bump to the floor and grabs a wrench from under the ring, he places it in shows boot so when show grabs it to see what it is, he pulls it out in front of the ref. Show throws it down which allows Eddie to come charging in with punches. He hits this sweet leaping tornado DDT but Show kicks out sending Eddie on top of the ref taking him out. Eddie sees the ref is down and low blows Show, he hits another DDT and follows up with a Frog Splash for the win. AWESOME! ***1/2

After the match; Eddie gets on the mic on the ramp, and says Show has to quit now. He gets everyone to sing him out with the goodbye song. Big Show is in disbelief. Eddie then gets in the car and hits the hydraulics to "NA NA NA NA" :lmao Show leaves crying, as usual, asking why are you laughing.

Backstage: Torrie Wilson and the make-up lady are laughing at an inside joke, Show comes over and says if she's laughing at him. She says no. Show backs off and apologizing before leaving. Torrie says she doesn't have a match, so she's gonna leave.

Theodore R. Long has a mirror set up in the ring for DEBUT OF THE NARCISSIST MARK JINDRAK! COMPLETE WITH MUSIC! REFLECTION OF PERFECTION! AMEN!

Mark Jindrak (w/Theodore R. Long) vs. Spike Dudley
SQUASH! Jindrak does some awesome shit in this tho, like hitting a standing dropkick knocking Spike off the top rope and the finish of Jindrak countering the Dudley dog into his rock bottom/sto move now called the Mark of Perfection.

RAW REBOUND!

in the parking lot; Torrie is putting her things in her car, but Big Show comes over. He yells at her for laughing at him, she says she wasn't laughing. He says he is a man of his word and now has to quit. He kicks out her car windows before backing the back windows with his fists.Torrie tries to get him to stop and calm down. So, he flips the car and starts to close in on her, but she runs away.

Booker T vs. Rob Van Dam
RVD still doing his hilarious pissed off/angry face still cracks me up. Maybe RVD should play pissed off more often because all his offense looks and hits clean as a heel, Booker is great bumping. RVD totally dominates for the first 3 minutes as we go to a commercial. But when we return Booker hot shots him dropping him jaw first onto the top rope. Booker T is on his game, heel-wise in this all his strikes and moves directed to the head, jaw, neck. But it's RVD so just yelling "OW" is his selling for the night. RVD makes a fun comeback, but he totally forgets the story of his former best friend who left him high and dry so he just starts getting his shit in. RVD gets his arms caught in the ropes, and Booker refuses to stop attacking, so he's DQ'd. After the match; Booker keeps putting the boots to him, choking and just talking shit. THE DEBUT OF THE SMACKDOWN SPIN-A-ROONI! **3/4

Backstage: A worker tells Kurt that Show has Torrie trapped on a ledge, they run off.

Big Show has Torrie by the hair on a ledge, Kurt runs over and says he's held responsible if something happens. Kurt then runs up. Show yells at her. "IF YOU DON'T LAUGH, I SWEAR TO GOD, IM GONNA MAKE YOU SCREAM!" Kurt yells at her to put her down or he's gonna make his life hell. Show lets go, AND SHOW CHOKESLAMS KURT OFF THE "LEDGE"! The camera cuts down to the floor, and Kurt's leg is bent behind him and blood is coming from the back of his head.

Angle getting thrown of the ledge is one of the weakest payoffs to what was a dull storyline anyway.

Shelton Benjamin vs. Ric Flair
FUCK YEAH! The debut of "AIN'T NO STOPPING ME........NO!" An awesome visual that accidentally gets caught on camera of Shelton having this massive grin on his face while Flair is doing Flair things doing his entrance, that's gotta be something. Flair attempts mind games early but it backfires as Shelton uses his quickness, youth, and armature wrestling to get the better. Flair who is probably having the time of his life and has been on 150% since mania continues to bump his ass off. It's all Shelton in the early going until the ref pulls Shelton down at 5 during the corner punches allowing Flair to kick his knee out from under him. Flair works it for several minutes setting him up for the figure-four and he does lock it in but Shelton rolls over, so Flair uses that momentum to roll back over and grabs the ropes for a break. Shelton's selling is pretty good for the most part but towards the end, he just stops selling it. Randomly, Flair brings in a chair but the ref takes it away so Flair and Shelton begin to slug it out. Well, that was pointless; Anyway, Shelton connects with an enziguri followed by a heel kick. Shelton begins to make a comeback with Flair bumping as big as possible to make Shelton look amazing. He suplexes Flair into the ring but again, Flair begs off just to deliver a killer chop. He heads up top but thinks better so he takes out a pair of brass knucks but he makes the mistake of turning his back to Shelton and Shelton hits the corner splash followed by a flying clothesline off the top for the win. **1/2

Backstage: Todd Grisham interviews Randy Orton, he asks Orton if Shelton beating Flair might be a bad Oman for things to come for Evolution tonight, Orton says Shelton has only been on Raw for a few weeks and people act like he’s the 2nd coming. Orton says he’s on a winning streak of his own as well as being the longest IC champ in 7 years, beating Legend after Legend, after Legend. But tonight, he's gonna earn respect and beat down Mick Foley or Cactus Jack whoever comes out tonight making him have to retire. Orton says he’s seen all the footage Of Jack, but he’s goona show Foley a side of Orton he’s never seen before and tonight he’s gonna put the old dog that is Mick Foley down and out of his misery, once and for all.

Jonathan Coachman vs. Tajiri
This is rough, Tajiri has trouble beating up Coach, no really. This is like 6 and a half minutes and Coach controls like 5 of those minutes. Coach works the leg, and Tajiri's selling is good. Garrison Cade runs out and punches Tajiri back into a schoolboy from Coach to win. FUCK EVERYTHING! *1/2

Christian & Trish Stratus vs. Chris Jericho
GAWD DAMN! Trish looks great tonight. This is one of those angle matches, it's basically just here to add to the story of the feud and keep things going longer. Good thing is it's mostly Christian vs. Jericho, who have great chemistry against one another and neither are afraid to lay their shit in against one another. I like that they built off some of the spots from the Mania match and had counters for that, plus Jericho keeps trying to attack Trish whenever he can. Of course, we get some Trish/Jericho interactions when Jericho is down, but as soon as Jericho almost grabs her she quickly tags Christian back in. Christian is catapult into Trish in the corner, taking her out and Jericho hits a step up enzuigiri to Christian for the win. pretty good, not Mania level or anything, but this a good addition to the chapter. **3/4

Backstage: Eugene is looking at the latest Diva's special magazine when he walks in the women's locker room. Gail Kim is just in her underwear. When seeing him, she screams, so Eugene screams as well. Molly Holly comes out without her wig screaming, Eugene then pats her on her head so she freaks out looking for anything to put on her head. William Regal rushes in the locker room to pull Eugene out., he tries to apologize for Eugene, but Kim's lack of clothes makes him forget what he was saying. So Gail yells at him to get out.

n3vtHKn.gif

WWE Woman's Championship: Victoria vs. Lita
BAD! Like really bad, and they finally get a ton of time too. They do some mat wrestling start it’s not terrible but it’s not good either. They lock up after a break then fall to the floor with neither one breaking. They somewhat attempt to pick up the pace as they attempt to do awful RVD/Lynn rolling pin sequence, but I will give them credit, they do it at the right time, unlike Lynn/RVD who do it after 25 minutes. Victoria begins to work the back and neck, Lita does do one good spot out of the tilt-a-whirl side slam she counters into a head scissors she has a very weird comeback. Lita still rushes everything, it's sloppy and mistimes a bunch of stuff, it still looks like she's going through the moves and sequences in her head so none of it looks natural. Late in the match, Victoria hit a moonsault but Lita rolls in, so, Victoria still manages to get a piece of her. The match would end when out of nowhere Victoria would hit the inside cradle for the win. Post-Match: Molly Holly and Gail Kim run out and lays out both women out ‘cause they knew the match sucked.

No Holds Barred Match For The WWE Intercontinental Championship: Randy Orton vs. Cactus Jack (Evolution Barred from Ringside)
Orton coming out with his hilarious adjace version of Barbie :lmao, i'm gonna call her Crissy. Jack comes out with Barbie, Orton tries to swing his over the rope but the barbed wire gets caught onto the top rope and it just falls apart. AWESOME! sequence with Orton doing everything he can to avoid getting hit with barbie, he uses his quickness to get out of dodge several times. They fight over Barbie on the floor until Orton hits him in the head with a trashcan three times on the floor. Cactus comes back with a trashcan shot of his own before rolling him back in, Cactus beats him up in the ring without using weapons for a few minutes even hitting him with a baseballs slide sending Orton to the floor, he follows up with a swinging neck breaker and head up top so Orton crawls away. They fight up the ramp with Orton hitting a side suplex on the ramp for two. Backslide gets another two before Orton grabs Jack’s hair and slams him off the ramp for another two. The sounds of Foley's back and heat hitting the steel sounds so sick. Orton then throws him into the steps before grabbing Barbie. He tries to rake it against Cactus's face but Jack stops it by using his hands to block it, it's a struggle for a few seconds until Cactus low blows him and goes back on offense. Mr. Socko comes out, but stops and picks up the bat instead, he lets the crowd pick which one wins and the bat does so he nails Orton in the head with it. Orton is busted open now as Jack begins to punch away at the open wound. Cactus begins attacking the head with straight punches and the running knee. Cactus again picks up the bat and again rakes the face of Orton. AMAZING! Visual is Orton running and crawling away, he begins to slowly climb the ropes and has this amazing "FEAR" facial expression as he looks into the hard camera.

oLMwd0V.jpg

Cactus again takes the bat and rakes it some against Orton's head before dropping the leg on the bat which is placed between Orton’s legs. Jack then heads to the floor and takes out gasoline and a lighter. The fans are going crazy. Before he's about to light Barbie on fire, Eric Bischoff comes out and threatens to stop Backlash if he uses the gas. Cactus throws the gas down and then just uses a cookie sheet. CACTUS ISN'T DONE HE FUKCING PULLS OUT A HUGE BOARD THAT IS COVERED IN BARBED-WIRE. They fight over it and tease Orton going onto it but he throw's powder into Cactus's eyes and scoop slams him onto it for two. Orton then places the board in the corner and they do another AMAZING! Tease with it. It looks like Orton is about to throw him into the wire but at but the last second Orton reverses and sends him in the wire board. As Jack is hung up in it Orton dropkicks him in and throws the board into his head. Orton then grabs a bag of tacks and unloads them into the ring, Orton being the nice guy that he is, begins to spread them for more coverage. He goes for the RKO but Cactus counters by throwing Orton onto them back first. Randy facial sell of great pure pain, agony, and disbelief is on another level. They now brawl up the ramp and to the back for a split second, until Cactus brings him back out, he throws him off the fuckin’ stage through some boards set up on the floor. BANG! BANG! The ref calls for the EMT’s Jack looks like he’s about to walk away but decides NO! THAT’S NOT GOOD ENOUGH and connects with the Cactus Elbow from the stage, but that only gets two. HOLY SHIT! They eventually come back to the ring, and Jack hits the double arm DDT for two, Orton then rolls to the floor and picks up Barbie but as Cactus goes to grab him Orton hits him in the head with it. Orton hits him first in the kidneys and then to the back. He goes to hit him again, but Cactus counters by locking in the CLAW! Orton is almost out until he hits an uppercut followed by a low blow. Jack applies the claw again but Orton hits the RKO out of desperation for two.Cactus comes charging at him but Orton hits a weird version of the RKO onto Barbie for the win. STILL HOLDS UP! STILL AMAZING! Maybe the most violent WWE hardcore match ever. Hunter/Cactus was brutal as hell, but this had everything and more. ****1/2

After the match; Batista and Flair run down, and help Orton to the back.

Backstage: Ric Flair and Batista are helping Orton to the medical room when Triple H comes up to him. He says that is what Evolution is all about and he went from being a Legend Killer to being a Legend. Todd Grisham then runs up to Hunter saying Evolution is now one and one tonight and asks him what his chances are tonight. Hunter says he's been waiting for this night since Mania, he says beating Shawn would be sweet but beating Benoit here in his hometown on “Chris Benoit Day” Will be money. Lightning will not strike twice.

La Résistance vs.The Hurricane & Rosey
I have no idea why this is here, unless WWE wanted to kill the crowd, and if that was the goal. Well, they succeeded. Boy did they succeed. The superhero team gets the better for the majority of this until Hurricane goes up top but Conway catches him and kills him with a sick swinging neckbreaker. Resistance iso Hurricane and it's pretty basic, Eugene comes down as Rosey makes the hot tag and takes out both French fucks. Eugene plays peek a boo with the flags as Hurricane hits a high crossbody onto both French guys, Eugene gets in the ring and begins to run the ropes. Then Regal comes out as Hurricane hits the Eye of the Storm on Conway for the win. It is what it is. *

crF9XYX.gif

KANE vs. EDGE
Short at 6 minutes and a half, Edge is clearly rusty. Plus he looks like he did nothing on his time off but rehab and eat steroids. Kane works the broken wrist for a few minutes, it pretty good. Very methodical. The crowd don't give a shit about the match as they mainly chant "You screwed Bret" to Earl and "We Want Bret" Edge makes a decent comeback he goes to use the cast but ref Earl Hebner stops him allowing Kane to kick him in the face. He misses the clothesline off the top. which allows Edge to hits the impeller DDT, Kane sits up and misses the spear Hebner ducks as well so Edge kicks Kane in the balls, he hits him with the cast and finishes him off with the spear for the win. 6 minutes of nothing, they just stuck it in first gear and it didn’t go anywhere. *

Triple Threat Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Benoit
Same formula as the Mania match, lots of 2 in 1 sells. Benoit/Shawn is good, Shawn/Hunter is fine. They keep knocking Benoit off the apron so it can just be them, but that pisses Benoit off enough that he comes in cleaning house with Suplex and chops. Benoit whips Shawn to the floor as =he locks in the crossface on Hunter but he sees Shawn coming so he knocks him to the floor and sends him into the barricade. He does it again before heading up top but Hunter cuts him with headbutts, HOLY SHIT! I don't remember a time Triple H did a headbutt before. Shawn knocks Benoit off the top rope before hitting the electric chair on Hunter for two. They continue to go back and forth now, with Benoit selling on the floor. Hunter hits him with a facebuster as Benoit hits the flying headbutt on Shawn for two. Benoit tosses Hunter to the floor as he tries to German Shawn but Shawn elbows out, he attempts the flying elbow but Benoit ducks and he whips out the ref. Shawn gets knocked to the floor as Benoit attempts to lock in the Sharpshooter on Hunter and does but he sees Shawn so he locks him in the crossface instead. OH SHIT! Shawn locks Benoit in the Sharpshooter as earl Heber runs down asking Benoit if he wants to quit :lmao Lawler makes a ton of jokes about this until Shawn breaks the hold to punch Hunter to the floor again. Huge “YOU SCREWED BRET” chant as Shawn panders to the crowd long enough for Benoit to lock him in the crossface but Hunter breaks it up with an elbow to the head. They clearly begin trying to fill up time as they start redoing over moves and stuff from before, Benoit and Hunter are on the floor when Shawn heads to the top, he attempts a crossbody but mistiness it so badly that he flies over their head and crashes through the announce table :lmao Shawn 0 Air&Table 2 Benoit looks over at Shawn with empathy allowing Hunter to attack him from behind sending him into the ringpost and then the steps.really good Benoit/Hunter sequence for a few minutes, Hunter hits the pedigree but he’s too worn down to make the cover straight away, but when he does out of nowhere Shawn breaks up the cover at two. Hunter and Shawn go at it. He hits the elbow off the top and signals for Sweet Chin Music, but Benoit begins to get on the apron so Shawn kicks him instead, that allows Hunter to low blow Shawn for two. Shawn counters out of the pedigree by backdropping Hunter to the floor, but as Hunter is on the floor he pulls out the sledgehammer. Shawn slowly gets to his feet and Hunter comes in and hits him in the lower back with it. Hunter then goes to do it again but Benoit trips him up and pulls him to the floor but again Hunter gets the better sending him onto the steps. Hunter then sets up Benoit up to pedigree, but Benoit counters by slingshotting Hunter into the post and Hunter bumps into the first row out the crowd AWESOME! Shawn signals for Sweet Chin Music but Benoit catches the boot and counters into Sharpshooter and Shawn taps out just before Hunter can stop him. This was so damn good, I don’t love it as much as I used to as a kid or even 4 years ago when i last watched it. And it's nowhere near as good as Mania. It really didn't need to be 30, cut 5 to 7 minutes off and maybe it would have been a classic. ***1/2
