NXT Woman's Champion: Ember Moon
United Kingdom Champion: Pete Dunne

NXT Episode 288
February 21st, 2018
Center Stage Theater: Atlanta, Georgia

TONIGHT: ALMAS/GARGANO - TITLE VS. CAREER!

The Velveteen Dream vs. No Way Jose
Good Dream showcase, Jose is doing the same stuff he's been doing. It's the classic sense of the old guy not adapting to the new age NXT so everyone has passed him by. And tbf it's not like he was ever good enough anyway, but that 2016 lazy old style doesn't cut it anymore. Purple Rainmaker ends it.

After the match; Dream says his name is at the tip of everyone tongue tonight, and if you can't see that, then he doesn't have time for ya.

Backstage: Vega is pumping up Almas for his match tonight.

Backstage: GM Regal announces the return of the Dusty Classic, he says the winners will face the tag team champions at TakeOver New Orleans. And this tournament starts in 2 weeks.

Venessa Borne vs. Nikki Cross
Cross showcase, swinging neckbreaker ends it.

Recap of the Black/Dain segment from last week airs.

Next Week, Baszler vs. Sane

Title vs. Career Match: Andrade Almas (w/Zelina Vega) vs. Johnny Gargano (w/Candice LeRae)
Again the champion comes out first smh. They will never top Philly but this is still super good for TV. Usual good stuff but super edited, like they cut all the awesome fast-paced counter wrestling stuff at the start and kinda go right into Candice and Vega brawling to the back leaving it 1on1. Gargano hits a dive, but when he goes for the slingshot DDT, Almas blocks and hits the apron backdrop move to take over. Almas works the arm it's good, I guess 2018 is the year of working the arms huh? Plus it's Almas so he doesn't stick with the arm fully, just when he feels like it before going to strikes to hitting one of his combo moves directed to the chest and back. 2nd break cuts out Gargano's comeback and they go into their usual dope back and forth, Almas hits the one-armed bucklebomb and follows up with the double knees, but Gargano kicks out. He then goes for the Hammerlock DDT, but Gargano keeps ramming him back into the turnbuckles, awesome spot Johnny goes for it a 3rd time but Almas uses his speed to avoid and Johnny goes shoulder first into the ringpost. Another awesome moment, they begin fighting on the apron, but Almas gets back into the ropes, so Johnny goes for the slingshot spear but again Almas avoids and locks in the Gargano escape but Johnny fights outs. This is so well built with Almas being in control here for so long like he's using Gargano's emotions and predictability against him, so he can stay one step ahead. But Gargano does have counters out of the stuff that worked against him at Philly like he avoids the running knees on the apron, and he avoids the double stomp to the apron. That then sparks his comeback and starts hitting big high-risk moves for near-falls. They trade forearms back and forth until the ref gets bumped on accident. GARGANO THEN LOCKS IN THE STRETCH..........BUT CIAMPA COMES THROUGH THE CROWD AND HITS GARGANO IN THE BACK WITH A CRUTCH. That allows Almas to hit the Hammerlock DDT and cover for the win. 4-0, EL IDOLO! ***

After the match, Almas and Vega celebrate and leave as Candice comes back out to help her man up. They have a good 3 minute long "emotional" slow walk to the back. BUT AS THE SHOW GOES OFF THE AIR THIS IS THE LAST SHOT WE SEE.

NXT Episode 289
February 28th, 2018
Center Stage Theater: Atlanta, Georgia

Recap of Almas/Gargano from last week airs.

Mauro refers to Gargano as the heart and soul of nxt smh.

The Velveteen Dream vs. Tyler Bate
Bate does a tremendous job carrying Dream in the counter wrestler to start, and I don't mean that in a disrespectful way, but it was done in a way to showcase Bate's experience and British reversals. Dream then uses his height and power advantage to take over, he works the lower back/kidneys for a bit, doesn't really lead to anything, just seemed like something to fill time until Bate makes a comeback. Dream is the first to fight out of the airplane spin, but Bate comes right back with the rebound lariat for two. Dream backdrops out of the Tyler Driver and hits the big spinebuster for two. They fight up top, but Dream crotches Bate and shoves him off, and finishes him off with the Purple Rainmaker for the win. **1/4

Backstage: Paul Ellering says AoP will repeat as Dusty Classic winners and will regain their tag team belts.

WWE.com EXCLUSIVE, GM Regal and Ref Drake Younger are with Gargano, he hands Gargano his release papers to sign. Drake says he made a mistake, and the last thing he wanted to do was be the one that made that count especially since they've known each other for over 10 years. Regal runs down once Gargano finishes up his tour dates, his contract will be terminated. Johnny signs and leaves.

Cezar Bononi vs. Adam Cole (w/The Undisputed Era)
Before the match, Cole trolls Cezar about his bogus "Future of NXT award" win. He then offers him a spot in the UE, but IT WAS A RUSE AND COLE DECKS HIM! Cezar recovers and runs through some moves, but he gets distracted by Fish and Kyle which allows Cole to hit a superkick followed by the shining wizard to the back of the head for the win.

After the match, the UE put the boots to Cezar and leave. BOOM!

In the hood, the black cup boyz are doing stuff.

LtsSgZo.png

Look at this pathetic tournament
Kairi Sane vs. Shayna Baszler
Sane comes out hot like Ember did last week, but these two know each other so Shayna has it scouted and goes to hold early to slow Sane down. Nice spot with Shayna having the running sliding elbow scouted so she gets the bootup up and hits Sane in the face to take over. Same deal, as usual, she goes to work on the arm, but it's Sane so she doesn't sell the arm, instead, she sells her lower back, but the only thing Shayna did to hurt the back with two kicks. Sane's does her usual comeback, but when she goes for the IN-Sane elbow Shayna kicks her head off and locks in the choke for the win. *3/4

NXT WORLD CHAMPION EL IDOLO & Vega come down to the ring, Vega you all thought Johnny was gonna win, he brought his wife only to watch him lose. 4 TIMES! A clean sweep. Johnny likes to talk about earning the fans respect, who cares, Almas earns money, fame, and respect. AND UNLIKE MOST WOMAN, I DON'T FEED OFF MY MAN'S SUCCESS. I CREATE IT! And that's why we're still world champion. Almas says Gargano wanted to be champion, he kept coming at him and lost because like everyone in NXT. BECAUSE I AM EL IDOLO! So, I made him "Johnny Jobless" because I am the NXT champion.

Almas and Vega leave, but Aleister Black comes out through this little crowd entrance, he goes into the ring but before he can talk Killian Dain's music hits and he comes through the crowd too. He joins Black in the ring, and they begin brawling. Dain drops Black with the running crossbody as Vega and Almas leave laughing to end the show.

NXT Episode 290
March 7th, 2018
Center Stage Theater: Atlanta, Georgia

First Round Match in the Dusty Classic: The Authors of Pain (w/Paul Ellering) vs. TM-61
So this is a rematch of that garbage 2016 finals match, this is a thing TM are solid spot guys but are bad at everything else. They tell a nice story in this with AoP beating the shit out of both TM guys, and the only shot TM really ever had was double teams. But they can only get so much off with the 5 count, but AoP eats all their shit and runs through them. Last Chapter ends it. *3/4

Backstage: GM Regal talks to the NXT media about the Dusty Classic, he leaves and Pete Dunne comes over. He says Roddy took him to the limit, and his title isn't going anywhere. Roddy comes over Dunne was the better man that night, and he can't wait to do it again. The UE come over and make jokes about Roddy losing ANOTHER BIG ONE! But Dunne says Cole hasn't won anything since he's gotten here. KYLE THEN DOES THIS AMAZING FACIAL EXPRESSION, HE TAKES OFF HIS GLASSES AND SAYS "HOW DARE YOU" :lmao Regal comes back over, and the UE leave.

Kyle gonna fuck around and be the first MVP since 2015 Owens

Backstage: SAnitY says words about winning the classic.

Miss Drew Renee vs. Bianca Belair
BB showcase.

Backstage: Christy asks Lacey about her thoughts on facing the returning Dakota Kai next week, she says she's here to show the fans what a classy woman looks like. She says Kai is still shaken up from what Shyna did to her and she fully intends on testing that arm. Shayna comes over and Lacey leaves, Shayna says another week and another week has gone by that Ember has yet to respond to her challenge.

Tommaso Ciampa comes down to the ring, he has no music the crowd is 80/20 split. They keep showing this black guy in a white turtleneck wearing a UE t-shirt over it just boooo'ing the shit out of him and it's hilarious. Every time he goes to talk the crowd either boooo's the shit out of him or chants "Ciampa sucks" it lasts a good 5 minutes before. Ciampa gets mad and leaves.................BUT FIRST HE TAKES A GARGANO SIGN AND RIPS IT UP..........AND BEGINS BEATING IT WITH HIS CRUTCH!

Aleister Black vs. Killian Dain
This is one of those "unofficial #1 Contenders matches" like they're spoken about the winner will most likely face Almas but it's not official. This gets under 10 and it's a good time, Dain knows Black is a superior striker so he immediately hits him with a running dropkick to start the match. Dain goes to the power early trying to wear him down, but Black weathers the storm and begins to break him down with kicks and strikes. Dain takes back over with the running crossbody, he begins to work the chest/belly/ribs that whole section for a bit, Black sells it well and has a nice comeback sticking with the combo strikes breaking Dain down, he also sells the ribs the whole time so that's great. The match ends when Dain goes for Plantation bomb, but Black counters it into Victory rolls for two. Then as soon as Dain gets back to his feet Black drops him with the Black Mass for the win. **1/2

NXT Episode 291
March 14th, 2018
Center Stage Theater: Atlanta, Georgia

Tonight: Almas/Black sign the contract.

First Round Match in the Dusty Classic: SAnitY (w/Killian Dain & Nikki Cross) vs. Riddick Moss & Tino Sabbatelli
Kinda weird that Tino and Moss are in this considering the last time we saw them Moss walked out, and tbf we never got a follow up since. But they do still playoff the friction with Tino dapping up Moss harder than usual, and Moss never really paying attention to him. This is fine, more angle stuff than an actual match Tino and Moss isolate Wolfe and it's decent enough to pass the time, Moss then accidentally hits Tino during a double team which leads to the EY hot tag, Sanity ends up hitting the double team sidewalk slam & neckbreaker for the win. *3/4

Tommaso Ciampa comes down to the ring, the crowd now has the shitty johnny wink emoji signs and it's now 90% in support for Johnny. They do the whole deal with Ciampa being drowned out by the boooo's so he refuses to talk and leaves again.

Lacey Evans vs. Dakota Kai
Goes about a minute, Lacey works the arm the whole time but Kai rolls her up for the win. Thanks.

Shayna comes out post-match, and Kai being a dumbass just stands in the ring. Drake younger tries to hold Shayna back, and Moon comes out with a mic. She accepts Shayna's challenge for a title match at TakeOver New Orleans. Ember then sneak punches her and they have this awesome little fight until refs break it up. Ember then goes for the Eclipse but Shayna stops it, she looks like she gonna attempt a shoulder breaker DDT but Kai kicks her in the head and allows Moon to hit the Eclipse.

First Round Match in the Dusty Classic: The Street Profits vs. Heavy Machinery
Solid face vs. face match, HM dominate for the majority and its' pretty fun. Ford is great in this his comedic timing, bumping and selling is all great. Dawkins doesn't add much. HM go for the double splash but Ford low bridges Tucker to the floor and Dawkins hits a DDT, Ford tags in and hits the Frog Splash for the win. *3/4

POST-MATCH: NIGEL THROWS HIS HAT INTO THE MVP RACE BY DANCING TO THE SP'S MUSIC :lmao

6lxVlcZ.gif

United Kingdom Championship: Adam Cole (w/Kyle O'Reilly & Bobby Fish) vs. Pete Dunne
Good short TV main event, it's mainly about setting up a future angle but it's still a good time. Dunne's arm work is still top notch and brutal, but because of the short time of the match it never really develops into anything outside to get the fans to ooh and ahhh at how nasty the bending of the fingers look. The match also seems to be cut, as they cut all of Cole's isolation when he hurts Dunne's knee before the break, and they cut the comeback and go right into them trading big moves for near falls. Cole counters the bitter end into the backstabber, but he can't follow up due to the injured arm. Cole then goes for the neckbreaker over the knee but Dunne blocks it looking for the Kimora but Cole fights it off and hits it, but only gets two. Cole makes the mistake of trading forearms, so, Dunne decks the shit out of him but Kyle and Fish stop Dunne from following up. Cole being Cole has to block a superkick spot into a moonsault for reasons. He then goes for the shining wizard to the back of the head, but Dunne avoids and goes for the Bitter end again but Kyle and Fish get onto the apron, so Dunne takes them out. Cole then sneaks in a superkick and kills him with the last shot neckbreaker for two. Out of desperation, Dunne kicks the arm and as he goes for the Bitter End, Kyle attacks him for the DQ. **1/2

After the match; the UE puts the boots to him but Roddy runs out and makes the save. But the numbers catch up to him...BUT DUNNE MAKES THE SAVE AND THEY CLEAN HOUSE.

GM Regal is in the ring for the contract signing. He introduces champion and challenger. Black comes out, Vega comes out alone. She announces that Almas isn't here tonight, but she is. And truth be told if he was he would destroy him. Black refuses to look at her and even gives her the hand. He then picks up and moves....................HE THEN DOES THE SITDOWN POSE AND SAY'S THEY'RE NOW ON THE SAME LEVEL! Vega says Almas is gonna make him wish he was never here, she signs the contract and throws it at him. He says maybe Almas is afraid, afraid that he might come up a little short just like her. She slaps him and dares him to sign the contract and he does. Black leaves the ring, but before he goes he says he's happy she came out alone because he didn't. Candice runs out and beats her down before hitting the Dudley Dogg in the ring to end the show.

NXT Episode 292
March 21st, 2018
Full Sail University: Orlando, Florida

After damn near 2 and a half months in Atlanta, NXT is back home to finish off tapings before Mania weekend.

Tonight: Cole/Ohno

Tommaso Ciampa comes out to open the show, the crowd is split 70/30 tonight. CIAMPA FINALLY SNAPS AND YELLS "HE'S GONE" He's not walking down that ramp, he's gone. He then drops the mic and leaves the ring. He walks around ringside and looks at all the Johnny signs, even takes a few up them and begins ripping them up :lmao FUCK YEAH! HE THEN GETS IN SOME OLD WOMAN'S FACE. IT's not as amazing as the Hogan/Old lady beef but still pretty funny. Suddenly, Gargano runs through the crowd and attacks Ciampa but security quickly breaks it up and drags Gargano to the back.

WWE.com exclusive breaks news that Bate hurt his knee and he's out of the Dusty Classic.

Charly announces that Roddy and ??? have now taken Bate/Trent's spot in the tournament.

First Round Match in the Dusty Classic: Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch vs. Roderick Strong & Pete Dunne
I'm a big fan of all 4 so I'm super hype for this, both team battle over arm position early, Dunne doesn't fully commit to arm work, just toys with him before slapping the shit out of him. Roddy and Dunne have a nice competition on who can hit hardest as they take turns beating on Burch, but it's only a minute :( Oney has a great hot tag, he does all his awesome stiff Oney offense on Roddy for some near-falls. But Roddy takes him out as Burch tags back in, the match breaks down with Oney locking Roddy in a half-Boston while Burch locks in a crossface to Dunne but Roddy breaks free and kicks Oney to break up the crossface. Roddy blind tags back in and hits the end of heartache for the win. Need like 5 more minutes, but still ruled. **1/2

Aliyah vs. Ember Moon
A showcase for the champ, during the match Shayna comes out and does commentary.

Next Week: AoP vs. SP & Dunne/Roddy vs. SAnitY - Semi-Finals match.

Raul Mendoza is supposed to have a match, BUT THE NXT WORLD CHAMPION ATTACKS HIM FROM BEHIND :mark: He comes out and talks about respect in Spanish. He calls him a piece of shit :mark: and challenges Black to a fight next week.

LARZ IS RETURNING!

Backstage: GM Regal announces that he's making a huge announcement next week :DEAD:

Adam Cole vs. Kassius OhNo
Another one of those solid TV main event matches, it gets under 10 so they don't go all out, but it's still a good time. Ohno dominates to start, so Cole fakes a knee injury and kicks Ohno in the head to take over. He works the head and neck with holds to pass the time until Ohno makes a comeback, they trade strikes that ohno gets the better but Cole uses his craftiness to counter the orange crush into the knee neckbreaker, Ohno then blocks the shining wizard and hits two sick elbows but it sends Cole to the floor so he can't cover. He brings Cole back in but Cole hits 3 superkicks and another over the knee neckbreaker, followed by the shining wizard for the win. **1/2

NXT Episode 293
March 28th, 2018
Full Sail University: Orlando, Florida

Earlier Today, Ciampa pulled up to the building and just left his car to walk. He finds Regal outside and berates him for Gargano harassing him. Regal says he's right, so Regal books Ciampa/Gargano in an "unsanctioned match" And if Gargano wins he gets his job back.

GM Regal now comes down to the ring, he says as NXT continues to grow and expand, it is imperative that we determine the standard bearers, the measuring stick to what it means to be the best. So at NXT TakeOver New Orleans, he will be introducing the "NXT North American Championship" Suddenly, a top 1%er comes out. EC3 makes his official debut. He says this is too much, he knew Regal was a kind man when he phoned him and gave him the opportunity to come to the hottest brand in the world. And he knew he was reasonable when he rolled out the red carpet and allowed him to strut his stuff, and gave him a BANGER of a theme. But to create a title belt and award it to him his first day. Regal cuts him off and says he's happy that he's here as a competitor, but no one is handed anything here in NXT. So, at NXT TakeOver he gets to compete for the title. It will be him vs. 5 others in a LADDER MATCH!

At the PC, a cameraman is talking to TM-61 about being losers but in the background, Shayna and Ember get into a fight so the camera leaves those losers to film.

Semi-Finals Match in the Dusty Classic: The Street Profits vs. The Authors of Pain (w/Paul Ellering)
This is a thing, goes like 3 minutes. Ford costs his team by offering Paul a cup of lean but Paul smacks it away and that distraction allows AoP to hit the last chapter on Dawkins for the win.

Backstage: Cathy is with GM Regal she asks who else is in, and Regal says Adam Cole is also in. The Velveteen Dream comes over and says he should be in, so Regal adds him too.

Lars Sullivan vs. John Silver
LARZ SQUASH!

Backstage: Cathy is back with Regal, he says spots LARZ and adds him to the match. Lars thanks him for adding him to the match, but says he wants Killian Dain. Regal then adds Dain to the match and books LARZ VS. DAIN next week. It really should have happened at Philly, but fuckit.

In the parking lot, Almas is attacking Black. He drowns him in a water cooler, before dragging him through the back and down to the ring. Almas brings a chair and hits him in the back before posing with the title. EL IDOLO! RESPECTA!

Semi-Finals Match in the Dusty Classic: SAnitY (w/Nikki Cross) vs. Roderick Strong & Pete Dunne
Both teams feel one another to start, but Sanity being the longer of the two teams is the first team to get the upper hand. They isolate Dunne for a bit, working the mid-section. But most of it gets cut out due to the break, Roddy tags in to get control back before allowing Dunne to work over EY's arm, not usual, more arm holds than anything. Roddy and Wolfe both get the hot tag cause both teams are faces. Wolfe gets the better as the match breaks down, Sanity hits the assisted wheelbarrow neckbreaker for two but Dunne breaks it up. Wolfe then tries a double axe off the top but Dunne elbows him in mid-air. EY takes Dunne out and hits Roddy with the elbow off the top for two. The match ends when Roddy hits Wolfe with the end of heartache and they hit a double team with Dunne hitting the bitter end for the win. **1/4

NEXT WEEK: AOP VS. STRONG/DUNNE - FINALS

Backstage: Cathy is AGAIN outside Regal's office looking for the final competitor, Regal opens the door like he hasn't been with her all night. He says he has the 6th man with him, THE DOOR OPENS AND MOTHERFUCKING RICOCHET COMES OUT!

BREAKING NEWS! BOBBY FISH IS INJURED! STATUS FOR NEW ORLEANS UNCERTAIN!

Finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic: The Authors of Pain (w/Paul Ellering) vs. Roderick Strong & Pete Dunne
I think with the injury to Fish, they nix the plan of having this big epic TV match and had them keep it simple and keep all 4 healthy for the 3-way match. Spoiler alert. But yeah, it's cool AoP use their power and size to brutalize both Dunne and Strong for the majority. It gets 8 minutes or so, the crowd is super hot for Dunne/Strong, More Dunne than Strong. Roddy has a fantastic hot tag, he runs off combo's as the match breaks down, but the UE run out and attack all 4 men for the No contest/DQ.

GM Regal comes out and books a Triple Threat Tag Team match at TakeOver, with the winners not only winning the tag team titles but also the Dusty Cup.

Video package hyping up the North American championship Ladder Match.

Video package hyping up Ciampa/Gargano.

Kairi Sane vs. Venessa Borne
Basic Sane showcase, IN-SANE Elbow drop wins it.

Backstage: Lacey Evans talks to the NXT media.

Backstage: Regal gives UE some choices with Fish being out, 1, Cole can compete in both the Ladder match and the Tag Team match, 2, Kyle can go it alone. Or 3, Cole can drop out of the match and just do the tag team match.

Video package hyping up Almas/Black.

Lars Sullivan vs. Killian Dain
This isn't bad, but it's 7 minutes. It really should have taken place in Philly, but the Lars injury kept it from happening so we get it here in a totally meaningless go-home match. They go back and forth brawling, making sure both men look strong. Both men fight up top and knock one another off to the floor. The dream then runs down to the ring, but so does Cole to do his pose. ECIII out next. Dain and Lars gets back into the ring and Ricochet makes his big debut doing a moonsault off the middle rope to end the show. lol..

NXT TakeOver: New Orleans
April 7th, 2018
New Orleans, Louisiana

The show opens with a 4-minute awful live rock concert, to a hype video.

Ladder Match for the NXT North American Championship: ECIII vs. Killian Dain vs. Adam Cole vs. The Velveteen Dream vs. Lars Sullivan vs. Ricochet
This is super long at 31 minutes, but, it's a blast. You can deff feel the length but it's jam-packed of goodness. Like Ricochet hitting a springboard SSP to the floor a minute in. This benefits from 6 guys, 3 being super over in Cole, Rico, and Dream. ECIII is semi-over, Dain gets reactions when he does big spots and poor Lars gets nothing but boooooo's. But the point I'm making is, with the 6 guys its something is always happening, and everyone gets a spotlight showcase on offense. EC3 and Cole team up to take out Lars and Dain, but once EC3 steals Cole "BAYBAY" taunt Cole turns on him by hitting the neckbreaker on the ladder and does his superkick party spot. Leave it to the GOAT Dream to add selling to this, he hits the purple rainmaker to Cole, Rico, and Dain, but does it in such an awesome way of selling the pain. But he knows this is what he has to hit to keep them down in hopes to climb a ladder. He does, but only to hit the purple rainmaker off the top of the ladder to Larz. The dream begins climbing the ladder, but EC3 powerbombs him off onto a ladder set up in the corner. Now everyone begins incorporating a ladder into their big spots. E.G. EC3 hitting the TKO off the ladder, Dain hitting the Vaderbomb to EC3 who is under the ladder, but he does it with Cole on his back. Lars and Dain playing the game of oneupmanship by throwing Rico across the ring was great. Awesome spot with Lars pushing the ladder, but Rico sees it coming, so before Lars can fully shove him off he hits a fucking moonsault off the top onto Cole and Dain on the floor. I think at one point Dream gets split open as he seems to be out of the match for 10 minutes and the doc' have the gloves on as they tend to him on the floor. But he makes a big splash when he comes back, he and Rico have great chemistry already. They battle ontop a ladder which is sandwiched between the corner and another ladder, and DREAM HITS A FUCKING DVDBOMB ONTOP OF IT. Lars is back, and he pulls Dream to the floor and places him on a long ladder which is a bridge from the apron to the commentary table and he hits the freak accident to EC3 crushing him through Dream and the ladder breaking it. Dain now sets up another ladder on the floor between the apron and the Spanish table. AND MOTHERFUCKING MICHINOKU DRIVERS COLE THROUGH RICO AND THE LADDER! BRUH! Lars is up first and Mauro refers to him as THANOS BRUH! He begins climbing the ladder, but Dain meets him half-way, they begin fighting. EC3, Cole, Dream, and Rico all join in and begin fighting. Cole is the first to get knocked off but he comes back and hits the backstabber to EC3 off the top. Rico then drops Dream with a neckbreaker off the top leaving the two big guys to fight it out again. BUT LARS HITS THE FREAK ACCIDENT OFF THE TOP! Lars begins to climb again but Rico does the springboard leap to the ladder but the Ladder collapses and they both fall. He begins to climb it, but Cole shoves him off and climbs the ladder himself for the win. Good shit. ****1/4

Ember gets the live band for her special entrance, but UGH! This broad sounds awful live. And double UGH at having the champion come out first.

NXT Woman's Championship: Ember Moon vs. Shayna Baszler
Dope opening 10 seconds, Ember goes for the rinning shotgun kick to start the match like she did to start their 2nd match, but Shayna sees it coming and avoids. She follows up with the big right hand, but doesn't follow up and taunts instead that allows the champ to recoup on the floor. She blocks a running apron kick and drops Ember on her chest/belly onto the apron to take over. Different feel to this one, a lot more evenly matched, not much focus on a body part just two really good girls trading back and forth. EMBER THEN DOES THE SHAYNA SHOULDER BREAKER STOMP, it's not nearly as brutal looking as Shayna's tho. She also doesn't follow up working it, credit Shayna tho her selling here is tremendous, she doesn't use the arm at all. SHE THEN RAMS HER OWN SHOULDER INTO THE RINGPOST TO TRY THE GET THE SHOULDER BACK INTO SOCKET BRUH! But as she's doing that, she forgets that Moon is still crouched on the top turnbuckle, and out of nowhere Moon hits the Eclipse off the top to the floor. Both ladies manage to get in at the count of 9. Out of desperation, Shayna locks in the choke but Moon breaks free by pulling on the arm, so Shayna attempts a triangle choke...BUT EMBER COUNTERS THAT WITH THE ONE-ARM POWERBOMB FOR TWO. Moon again goes for the eclipses but Shayna blocks it in mid-air into the CHOKE! But she does it holding her hair, so the Ember can't grab the injured arm to break free. SHYNA THEN ROLLS IT TO THE MIDDLE OF THE RING AND MOON PASSES OUT! NEW CHAMP! ***

In the back, Cole is getting checked out by the trainers. Kyle comes in and Cole tells him he doesn't know if he can go.

In a dark room full of candles Alister Black is warming up for his match.

NXT Tag Team Championship & The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic trophy: The Authors of Pain (w/Paul Ellering) vs. Pete Dunne & Roderick Strong vs. The Undisputed Era (Kyle O'Reilly & Adam Cole)
Kyle is in such fear of losing the tag titles that he can't even do the title guitar breaks my heart. All 6 brawl as soon as the bell rings, but it's AoP that clean house. They hit Kyle with the Triple X's powerplex but Cole breaks it up, so they chase Cole to the floor and double powerbomb him through the announce table taking him out for the rest of the match. That leaves the rest of them to beat on one another before settling the match down, they do the style with one from each team being in the match. So Kyle pretty much works the match, they do, do some big KO spots to give him time to rest between spots so it's most AoP/Strong/Dunne II with Kyle coming in for some stuff. Beginning of the end moment with Pete not looking so eager to tag in, but in the end, he does and the match breaks down. Dunne cleans house on everyone. AoP then recovers and hit the supercollider and the last chapter to Kyle but Roddy breaks it up, he gets dumped to the floor which allows Dunne to break the fingers. Roddy gets tagged back in, but he and Dunne have some miscommunications. But they settle down, and clean house again. Dunne then hits Kyle with the Bitter End......................BUT RODDY TURNS ON DUNNE AND HITS THE END OF HEARTACHE AND THROWS KYLE ON TOP FOR THE WIN. RUSSOBAK! **1/2

After the match; Roddy puts on the armband, and celebrates with his NEW brothers. Kyle now does the air guitar :mark: Fish meets them at the ramp and they pose with all the gold and the trophy.

NXT World Championship: Aleister Black vs. Andrade "Cien" Almas (w/Zelina Vega)
Almas doesn't get the special entrance but he this awesome Silver/Gold attire, it doesn't touch the all gold everything attire tho. Black wastes no time as soon as the bell rings, he takes the fight right to Almas with strikes, dives, and submission attempts he's all over him like white on rice as JR used to say. But, Almas distracts the ref which allows Vega to hit the 'rana off the apron sending Black to the steps allowing Almas to take over. They don't have the best of chemistry and have some mistimed stuff, but issa good time for the most part. Almas targets the arm and head for a bit, Black sells the arm for a bit. He has a nice comeback as he "can't" use the arm so he goes more to kicks to break Almas down. They begin going back and forth, with them having one another big moves scouted so we get the big reversal, reversal, reversal into a counter big move for a near fall spot. They also do that with strikes and the match picks up a ton, Almas brings the title into the ring and uses it as a distraction which allows Vega to hit a spike 'rana but that only gets a two. Almas goes for the hammerlock DDT but Black rolls through for a two, he quickly gets back to his feet and hits Black Mass but Vega puts Almas' boot on the rope to break it up. Black is shocked and goos for a moonsault again, but Vega grabs the leg which allows Almas to trap his knee in the corner. He follows up with the apron double stop and the double knees in the corner for two. Black again goes for the BlackMass but Almas connects first with a dropkick to the back of he head. Black rolls to the apron and they begin fighting with Almas getting the better and he hits the double knees against the ring post as he did in Philly. He then goes for the Hammerlock off the top as he did to Drew, but Black blocks it and backdrops Almas to the floor. He hits a tope con hilo ut when he rolls Almas back in, ALMAS HITS THE HAMMERLOCK DDT OUT OF INSTANT FOR TWO. Vega then tries a crossbody off the top, but Black avoids and Almas catches her, and Black uses that to hit the Black Mass for the win. ***1/4

Ciampa/Gargano video package airs.

Unsanctioned Match: Tommaso Ciampa vs. Johnny Gargano (If Gargano wins, he will be reinstated to NXT. If Ciampa wins, Gargano will be banned from NXT forever)
Huge fight feel, one one of the few times in NXT where their's a clear cut face and clear cut heel. Awesome Johnny fire to start, it's one of the many things he does so well is put together strings of moves and just hurling his body as a weapon. I just noticed that they have Drake being the ref, but he's wearing all black. Both men take some awesome bumps, like fully just hurling their bodies around like they want to get hurt. They spend the first 10 minutes of the match just fighting on the floor Ciampa suplexes Gargano off the announce table to the floor and it makes a sick thud/splat as both men hit the thin mats. He follows up hitting a backdrop onto the wood cover top that they usually have on top to protect the screens on the table. Awesome slow, methodical, pinpoint control by Ciampa, he just takes his time and gets great pleasure in beating up his former best friend. Hilarious moment, they clearly have a plant at ringside cause he has crutches and a walking cast on his leg, but the kicker is he's wearing a Johnny Wrestling t-shirt. So Ciampa takes his crutches away and security quickly takes this geek to the back. Anyway, both men fight over the crutch. FUCKING SICK SHIT! They fight on the apron with both men trying to do a move to the exposed concrete floor. So Ciampa blocks the DDT, and Gargano blocks the air raid crash but GARGANO SUNSET FLIP POWERBOMBS ONTO THE CONCRETE. FUCKING NASTY THUD! I THOUGHT THE SUPLEX SOUNDED SICK BUT THIS MADE ME WINSE. Both men slide back in and both dive for the crutch. Tug of war over it, but it's Gargano who wins that and begins hitting Ciampa with it. He hits a big headshot and follows up with the slingshot DDT for two. Gargano exposes the middle turnbuckle and attempts the lawn dart, but Ciampa blocks it. He places Gargano on the apron and knew the slingshot spear was coming so he hits a sick running knee with the knee brace right to the face and follows up with a blue thunder bomb for two. FUCK YEAH! HE DOES THE DIY TAUNT AND HITS THE RUNNING KNEE TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD FOR TWO. They go back and forth with strikes, with Gargano getting a 2nd wind he locks in the Gargano escape, but Ciampa makes the ropes. But no rope breaks so Ciampa DIGS HIS FINGERS INTO THE EYES TO BREAK THE HOLD :mark: Cimpa then tries to take the wrist tape off and do the OLD School epic choke submission, but Gargano blocks it and they go back to trading punches. BUT CIAMPA KICKS HIM IN THE DICK!!!!!!! He picks up the 2nd crutch and hits Gargano on the back with it, and follows up with Project Ciampa for two. Again back to the strikes, but this time Gargano gets the better, he lawn darts Ciampa into the exposed steel and follows up with a superkick for two. Both men fight up top, Ciampa attempts the air raid crash off the top but Gargano counters it. He then goes for a super frankensteiner but CIAMPA HITS A SUPER PROJECT CIAMPA OFF THE TOP FOR TWO. Ciampa's knee is now hurt again, so he takes off the knee brace. BUT INSTEAD, HE PULLS DOWN THE KNEE PAD EXPOSING THE KNEE. BUT GARGANO HITS HIM WITH HIS OWN KNEE BRACE TO THE KNEE. He then picks up the crutch and breaks it in half and goes to stab Ciampa but Johnny stops mid-motion and freezes up as Cimpa covers up. They both look at one another and almost do the sit down like when had their CWC match. BUT CIAMPA GRABS THE KNEE BRACE BUT GARGANO SEES IT COMING AND AVOIDS IT. He the locks-up the knee and uses the brace to choke Ciampa who taps. BRUH! This didn't need 38 minutes at all, but FUCK IT! IT RULED! Storytelling, hate, violence, it's a phenomenal first match. ****1/2

So, that was the last show I watched of all NXT last year. Now, I know all the big takeover results, but all the weekly show stuff will be new for me.

Kairi Sane vs. Lacey Evans
This is what it is, it's a little rough at times, some mistimed sequences. Lacey literally does nothing for me, in the ring, I don't care for the 50's mom used to be in the army real lady gimmick. Makes no sense, especially when she's the same age as me 27. But whatever she has a great body tho, so that's a plus. Kairi is Kairi, she has nice move and bumps sell but doesn't sell a lick of anything. The comeback is cool, and the IN-SANE elbow ends it. **
